CONTRIBUTOR APPLICATION
Hello! Please apply here for Rhapsody for Lovers!
All proceeds for this zine will be used to create a fund or scholarship in the name of my student who passed away this year. She was a bright young bassoonist and I hope that I can use this to raise even a little money in her honor. Please direct any questions to my inbox or dms!

what's the first movie you remember seeing in theaters? don't try and be all edgy and cool and say like tetsuo: the iron man. be honest.

I get sad sometimes thinking about how I don't know if my sister ever got to finish the harry potter books before she died. she started reading them right after I did when I was in high school but she wrecked my copy of goblet of fire so I told her she couldn't read the rest of them. maybe she took them off my book case when I went away for college but I really don't know if she ever got to read the end of the story and im upset about it because she really liked them

one thing that i think is telling about me is that if werewolves were real and i knew someone that was one i simply would never put 2 and 2 together. their secret would be safe with me because i do not think about other people enough to figure something like that out. whenever someone comes out to me as gay it’s a complete shock because the thought has never crossed my mind once. one of my friends in college could never hang out on friday evenings and one time (3 and a half years in) i asked her about it and she was like “rayanne…. it’s shabbat”. i am also jewish and i didn’t realize that she was too.

i feel like high school/middle school sitcoms set the unrealistic expectation of being able to have lunch time outside

“why are you tagging this post as this character/ship, it literally makes no sense” well first of all i know and perceive the truth and am able to make flawless leaps in logic that are nevertheless grounded in fact

would using “his voice dropped a few notes” or “his voice had gone from major to minor” make any more sense?
no, neither of those make sense, especially the second one 💀. major and minor do not refer to how high or low something is and you can’t really use them to talk about human speech. the first one makes a bit more sense but it sounds really silly. as if someone is standing next to a piano matching the pitch of your speaking voice to actual notes. here are some things you could say instead -
“his voice had gotten deeper”
“his voice was lower now”
“his voice dropped a little lower/deeper”
you could even say “his voice had dropped an octave since i last saw him” or whatever if you REALLY want to use that expression. “An” octave is vastly different than “a couple” or “a few”. I think that phrase still sounds silly, but if you must use it “an octave” is the correct way.
