The serving size on a package of hummus reads “2 TBSP”. That always makes me LOL. I eat 2 tbsp of hummus as the appetizer before I actually start eating hummus for real. Make some delicious homemade hummus with different creative flavorings and eat till you feel satisfied. Listen to your body not the label.

Finally found these babies on sale for $40 at Nordstrom Rack...(to be honest I think they were marked incorrectly, lol.) I wasn't crazy about the blue, so I added my own touch. I get a lot of questions about carbs, so here’s just some quick information on them! To avoid the inevitable anons, no, I do not think all football players are stupid and all boys in photography class are smart, haha.
One more thing: Fruit is a simple carb! This does not mean it is bad for you. Again, just everything in moderation! Eating healthy has a lot to do with common sense and less to do with charts.

First Day Back - 1/3/13
First workout of the new year. (I decided to wait it out a few days while resolutioners flock to the gym per usual and subsequently stuffed my face with chocolate in the meanwhile) Nonetheless, today's workout was fantastic. Here is a rundown:
Warmup: 5min. elliptical
Lat Pull-Down
30lb. x 15
40lb. x 15
50lb. x 15
30lb. x 20
Side Crunch with 25lb. Dumbbell x 4 sets of 15 each side
Lat Row:
30lb. x 10
30lb. x 10
20lb. x 15
20lb. x 15
Shoulder Flys with 7.5lb. Dumbbells x 4 sets of 15
1 Arm Row with 12.5lb. Dumbbells x 4 sets of 15 each side
12.5lb. tricep extension x 4 sets of 12
End Cardio: 10min. elliptical, 10min. stationary bike
Burn: 408 cal. 38% cal. fat, 1hr. 10 min.
As I've learned from many "first days back", never go balls to walls on the first day... you will regret it, and likely take a few more days off than usual and delay your kickstart. The first 2 weeks are the hardest, after that, the hardest part is just showing up at the gym.
