Anetra would bring her catch of the day to the market, and after the last net was empty, she would row to a hidden island where she would swim until her arms gave up and then sleep under the shadow of the trees.

One day, she was surprised to find someone in her island before her. She didn't think anyone else knew about the place. She rowed closer and saw that it was a beautiful woman, bathing naked.

"Hello," Anetra called out gently as to not startle her.

The woman, far from hiding, turned to Anetra curiously, unworried about being exposed. When she turned, Anetra understood why. She was not looking at a woman, but a mermaid, with sharp hunter's teeth and long tail that shimmered under the setting sun.
