Forgotten Championships: The NWA Capitol World Tag Team Championship
The NWA Capitol World Tag Team Championship was the top tag team championship of the NWA’s Capitol Wrestling Corporation, which was the predecessor to the WWE.
Not a lot of information is known about this tag team championship, other than the fact that Miguel Perez, Sr. co-held the championship with Antonino Rocca.

RIP Bobby “The Brain” Heenan
Heenan and Monsoon were the best reason to watch Prime Time Wrestling. You could tell they enjoyed working with each other as sort of a pro wrestling “Laurel & Hardy” comedy team.
Heenan was one of the best talkers in the business. He was such a great talker that they turned him into a color commentator not just on PTW, but also on WWF Wrestling Challenge with Monsoon.
I’m sure Monsoon was the first person to greet Heenan at the Pearly Gates, and right now they are calling Owen vs. Eddie and Sheik vs. Thesz in the presence of the REAL King of Kings.
I wonder how many times Gorilla has alrwady told Brain “will you stop” lol.

Just created a concept for a true “squared circle” wrestling ring with 16 square feet of surface between the ropes.

Always wondered what happened to Ole Anderson’s son Bryant after he retired.
Turns out he graduated with a law degree from Georgia State University and is an attorney.

The NWA just got some new championship belts, and they’re looking sweet. I love the new tag belt and the junior heavyweight belt, and I’m glad they kept the classic domed globe on the world heavyweight belt instead of put the new logo on.

How I would fix #TNAWrestling.
This is how I would fix TNA Wrestling if I were the owner:
Get rid of the six-sided ring and go back to a traditional 18x18 four-sided ring. I have read that the six-sided ring is stiffer and more punishing than a four-sided ring because shock absorption is practically non-existent in a six-sided ring. Adopting a four-sided ring would potentially reduce wear and tear on the performers’ bodies.
Get the hell out of Universal Studios Florida. Yeah the Impact Zone may look good on camera, but face it. Such a low amount of spectators makes Impact Wrestling look like a second-rate TV show.I would relocate Impact Wrestling tapings and select PPVs to either a small arena in the Orlando area - an arena with a capacity of at least 5,000 (it’s too bad the Eddie Graham Sports Complex was demolished 21 years ago, otherwise I could relocate to there)- or relocate to another city with a small arena such as the Bojangles’ Coliseum in Charlotte, North Carolina. And for TV presentation purposes, I would “pepper” empty seats by letting some people come in for free.
Hire better writers. One area TNA sorely lacks in is creativity. I would hire new storyline writers and a new booking committee to oversee the creative direction of TNA, and anybody who underperforms in their duties will be dismissed and/or removed from the booking committee.
Put a better emphasis on the X Division. The X Division is what made TNA, and in recent years the X Division has either been ignored or watered down.  I would hire more talent for the X Division and give them more time instead of the stupid backstage promos which look like they belong more on a drama series than a wrestling show.
Find better management. TNA is horribly mismanaged, especially when it comes to finances and day-to-day operations. I would hold monthly meetings with management to see what’s working and what’s not working. I would cut all unnecessary spending. I would look into every financial aspect of the company and take appropriate action if I feel the company isn’t performing as well as it should.
Make Billy Corgan music director and either company president or vice president. Corgan clearly is more motivated than Dixie Carter and the rest of TNA management.

What if the original Four Horsemen were in their prime today in WWE?
This article made me wonder how successful the Four Horsemen would have been in WWE.
The Horsemen would make it, but they wouldn’t have lasted as long as they did in JCP/NWA/WCW for the reason that in modern day, wrestling storylines evolve on a more frequent basis due to how much more exposure wrestling has today than it did back in the 80s.
I’m sure the apex of an in-their-prime Horsemen in today’s WWE would see the following (assuming that the current Brand Extension wasn’t in place):
Ric Flair, WWE World Heavyweight Champion
Barry Windham: WWE United States Champion
Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard: WWE Tag Team Champions
I’m sure the Horsemen would dominate all the titles for several months upon formation, but the cracks would start to form as soon as Windham lost the U.S. title at WrestleMania, most likely due to botched interference from James J. Dillon.
This would cause dissension to form between Windham and Dillon, culimating in another botched interference from Dillon which would cause Windham to strike Dillon, only for the rest of the Horsemen to run in and pummel Windham, ending with Anderson & Blanchard giving Windham a spiked piledriver and Flair seemingly blowing out Windham’s knee with a figure-four.
After a few months, Windham would return healthy and clean house and save Flair for last, ending with the Horsemen running to the back with their tails between their legs. And this would set up for a main event match at SummerSlam where Windham beats Flair to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
Rematches would see Windham retain due to botched interference from Anderson, Blanchard, and Dillon, and this would culminate in Flair disbanding the Horsemen and firing all three, only for Anderson and Blanchard to put Flair out with a spiked piledriver.
Eventually, Blanchard and Anderson lose the tag titles, and Anderson turns on Blanchard by giving him a DDT after their tag title loss. And Anderson also DDTs Dillon which serves to write Dillon out of storylines as he takes a backstage role.
Anderson - who is now managed by Ole Anderson - ends up winning the U.S. title from the wrestler who beat Windham for the belt, but Blanchard returns and beats the snot out of Anderson and gets mad cheers despite not displaying any overtly babyface tactics and still using underhanded tactics to win his matches. In essence, Blanchard becomes a tweener who displays a cocky attitude and cheats but mainly goes against well-established heels in order to get the cheers from the fans.
This would culminate in Blanchard winning the U.S. title from Anderson

For you TNA fans, Fight Network is now available on Apple TV 4, and it even has TNA PPVs such as Bound For Glory 2009.

You can rag on TNA all you want, but they had some quality shows from 2008 to early 2013. It makes me wonder how much WCW would be like TNA if Bischoff had bought WCW back in 2001.

I just noticed that the WWE Network's airing of the Feb. 4, 1989 episode of NWA World Championship Wrestling did not edit out Michael Hayes' line "I'd love to slap a J*p".

Looks like Billy Corgan has conceded defeat.
Billy Corgan: "Nothing you or God can do to stop" Vince McMahon from buying TNA
There remain multiple suitors at the negotiating table, however, with Corgan acknowledging rumors that industry-leading WWE is among the potential buyers. So how does one go about winning a bidding war against Vince McMahon?
"Well you don't, and I think that's the simplest part of the equation," Corgan said. "If Mr. McMahon wants to buy the company, there is nothing you or God can do to stop him. So there's that. But outside of that, which as of this moment that has not happened or doesn't appear to be happening, I think I would know because I have a piece of the company and so I would have to be informed of that -- or at least would hope to be informed of that."

I think WWE will buy TNA and allow Bound For Glory to air as TNA’s swan song.

Anybody else think that The Club will help Finn Balor beat Seth Rollins for the WWE Universal Championship and cause a double turn (heel turn for Balor, face turn for Rollins)?
