Oh, but imo the show went after both sides. Idk why people don't see it. Have you watched any of the democratic election videos?

And of course the production value wasn't amazing - the turnaround time was sometimes under 24 hours, which is insane for any cartoon. I guess it doesn't really matter though bc it was produced to be funny in the moment, and the moment has passed.

I just don't get how people look at the portrayal of Democrats (including Bernie and AOC) and think that it was only satirizing one side.

I know I'm coming off as overly defensive by this point, but if those jokes flew over your head, it's because you didn't get the reference. The writers have consistently parodied actual DC dynamics (w the side characters). Most commentors said Trump was much more likeable in the cartoon, too.

I will say this, I actually respect the show for getting at both sides. I respect that, cause most are one-sided.

It took you THIS long to realize the show is crap?

Nah, I always knew the show was low-hanging fruit crap. I just liked it ironically. Mostly because the majority of it flew over my head. But now that I'm older, I'm looking at it for how it really is.

Also, why do people from my generation have such a terrible sense of humor? It’s just making fun of “boomers” and random lol meme humor.

Huh, when I learned more about politics I actually thought OCP was one of the more accurate parodies. Interested to hear what you don't like about it (beyond vague stuff like 'too on-the nose' or 'SJW')

No shade to people who still like it though, I just realized it’s just a cheap ass cartoon.

Same, I know how you feel. Used to watch the show, then grew up and fully realized just how crap it is. Also, there's something seriously wrong with the writers.

I hope the writers, and by extension everyone else who worked on it, are NOT proud of their work.

Except the ones who worked on the background art, some of the jokes (some of them are decent) and the music (not the lyrics, they're too on the nose). Cause those are the only good parts.

I re-watched the show, I’m glad I realized how terrible it is. Probably one of the worst cartoons of the decade, I can’t believe I sat through every episode. Probably because I was young at the time, and the majority of it flew over my head XD

Holy shit I hope the people who worked on the show don’t feel proud, and just did it for a paycheck

I just spent an hour ranting to myself about how terrible this show is and how much it sucks and how talk show hosts shouldn’t have their own cartoons (or shows, period), so I guess that shows you how much my thoughts have changed on it, lol

yo I used to laugh at some of the jokes on this show when I was younger, or the jokes completely flew over my head because I knew nothing about politics. But now that I know more about politics (unfortunately), I just cringe at some of them. I still enjoy most of the episodes, just not some of the jokes or “commentary”, although I know it’s not meant to be taken seriously. It’s just too on the nose and cringey.

I’m starting to think the show was written by sjws...
