can you talk about being intersex and cis? how do you know if you're cis or trans when you're intersex? i promise this isn't meant to be rude i'm just a little confused as to how gender works when you're intersex. thank you so much.

I’m cis because I’m afab and still identify as a woman. If I was afab and identified any other way, I’d be trans. I’m intersex because my body itself has a mixed bag of secondary sex characteristics and hormones.

The label “intersex” itself isn’t a gender identity as much as it’s a way for people with mixed or ambiguous sex characteristics to define that experience. There are cis men and women who are intersex, trans people of every kind as well. I’m sure there are intersex people who just identify as intersex entirely but most intersex people I’ve met still identify as male, female, or nonbinary. Because your body doesn’t determine your gender identity.

Also, the opposite of intersex is perisex. You can be cis or trans, while being intersex or perisex. If you’re not intersex, you are perisex.

Soooo, have I been up to anything during my long hiatus?

Erm… well… I did visit Peak Wildlife Park and saw these guys:

They’re soooooo cute!

They come with built in awesome 80′s style kneepads and ankle warmers.

Look at how cute that is!

Next time we go (now that I know both that they’re there and where to find them) I want to go to the daily ‘sheep and greet’ and get to see them properly - i.e. with food.

I also need to take a bag big enough to smuggle one home with me.

hewwo it is black history month and i, a bisexual nonbinary black person, still need help with groceries, rent, and getting out of debt ($2000)

My boyfriend talks in his sleep and because he’s bilingual, he says some hilarious/weird/sometimes creepy shit. I ask him every morning if he remembers saying this stuff and he has no idea about any of it. 

Here are some of my favorites:

-”Babe, can you please turn down the brightness of your skin” -After stealing all of the blankets: “This is my right as a human” -After I take the blankets back: “I don’t want your freedom, America. Just blanket” -Sometimes he just says “Hello?” as if he’s answering a phone call -One night he just said “Cabbage” which is weird because he doesn’t know the english word for that when he’s awake.  -After spooning me: “You have a nice butt” -”Who is that in the corner?” (terrifying) -”Watch out for the red lady” (even more terrifying) -Sometimes he will say things in German and it sounds like he’s speaking Parseltongue -One time I actually think he said something in Parseltongue -One time he talked about buying a ticket to “everywhere” and then just said “hello?” after two minutes of silence -And my all time favorite: ”This is MY yogurt, Satan”

in 1996, he was convicted of kidnapping and murdering three women and was sentenced to death.

this conviction is entirely false. he didn’t murder anybody.

he has been found not guilty of the crime. at this point, the only reason he remains in jail is because he was at the scene of the crime. the court also claims that he bullied willis hayes, the man who actually did murder the three women, into killing them. however, willis hayes has come forward and has admitted that dustin DID NOT commit the crime, and he’s also even confessed that dustin never bullied him into murdering the trio of women. but the court won’t accept it.

not to Discourse but if people stopped pretending attraction can be evenly split into sexual and romantic attraction for once instead of accepting that it works and feels differently for everyone maybe they would realize that you can be attracted to someone without wanting to have sex with them right now this second, or ever, and we could all stop pathologizing and micromanaging the particulars of our sexual orientation (the term deriving from sex as a word for gender at the time it was created, not sex as the act) and come to the collective understanding that the labels gay/bi/lesbian/straight on their own already include every single possible relationship to sex you could ever possibly have and absolutely no qualifiers, ace/demi or otherwise, are needed, because attraction as a concept encompasses more than just the urge to have sex with another person

it’d be also super neat if we could stop pretending that it’s somehow more inclusive or easier for people with a fraught relationship to sex to split sexual orientation into Ace and Non-Ace as if it’s any help at all to shove e.g. lesbians who struggle with the sexual aspect of lesbian identification off into their own restricted zone away from Normal Lesbianism that requires a special prefix before lesbian, instead of normalizing a definition of lesbian that includes any and all ways people might feel about sex and that their way of feeling attraction is just as much a normal part of lesbianism as anyone else’s, no qualifiers needed

the idea of a split romantic and sexual orientation is an unhealthy, pathologizing way of looking at sexual orientations that’s just gonna end up alienating people who feel lost in mainstream depictions of sexuality even more and i am done with pretending that i am okay with that kind of rhetoric being spread
