“Vulnerability is the birthplace of love, belonging, joy, courage, empathy, and creativity. It is the source of hope, empathy, accountability, and authenticity.
If we want greater clarity in our purpose or deeper and more meaningful spiritual lives, vulnerability is the path.”
Bill Withers - Lean on Me
RIP Legend. Thank you for all the beautiful music.
TBT to my former life, when I was a redhead who played sports and loved dressing as a cowgirl 🙃
That choreography…especially the first group 🔥🔥🔥
Starting to feel like spring here…
Hoping I don’t have to cancel my summer plans…
Led Zeppelin - Stairway to Heaven
When I turned on my car to leave my Aunt Becky’s funeral today, this was playing on the radio. It felt like she was letting me know she was there. I’ll explain why…
In the 70s, two guys on two separate occasions told her that the song reminded them of her. They thought they were being romantic, but she was insulted: the lady in the song is shallow and ignorant…the opposite of my brilliant aunt.
So it was a running joke that this was her song.
If there is anything after this life, sending me that song at that moment would have been perfect for her exact sense of humor.
But even if it’s just a funny little coincidence, it was much needed.
My sweet Aunt Becky passed away today. We knew it was coming, but it still hurts so badly.
That’s her in between my mom and my MiMi. We were such a close family, and this loss just two months after my uncle’s death is unbearably devastating.
My mom with my wonderful uncle.
This side of my beautiful family was always so supportive…such pillars of unconditional love and compassion. Remember to appreciate those you love while they’re still here. Never let any bullshit miscommunications or your pride put you in a situation that you’ll regret. Thankfully, we did our best to always be there for one another…the arguments were few, the anger was short-lived, and more than anything, there was laughter.
I’m glad that I have no regrets with them, but damn I miss my aunt and uncle. I always will.
