"I guess you could call it a secret spot of mine." There was a smile on Ferdinand's face- one you could probably call eager. The spot he spoke of wasn't so secret that no one else knew about it, but it was a spot that was, relatively, untouched when he'd sit in it. Typically it'd be early morning when he was still waking up; a nice perk of the apartment complex he rented at was the rooftop garden. Ferdinand particularly favored visiting it early in the morning and at night. It seems it wasn't used too often by the other residents of his apartment complex- which he didn't mind too much. He almost viewed it as his own little corner.

He opened the door, showing Rapunzel to the seating area. It was surrounded by greenery; it was almost as if walking into a greenhouse. The management of the complex, as well as the rare few residents who frequented the roof, did a good job taking care of it. "What do you think? I'd have to say it's one of my favorite places to sit and just- let my worries fade for a bit."

"Of course I care- what, you think that just because I'm a princess, I've had it easy?" she nearly winced at the harsh words- but they were true. The entire reason she was in the position that made her hire him in the first place those months ago was because of everything that'd happened around the time her brother had disappeared. Things with the other kingdom had gotten more tense ever since- then Kairi had disappeared just before the diplomacy meetings begun. Only to reappear in a quiet village sporting a new haircut and needing to hire a mercenary. The people in the village recognized her almost right away; the fact that she had one green eye and one blue in the same eyes as the princess and the same color hair- but they didn't say anything. It wasn't as if she was deaf to the rumors already flying around; but luckily, they hadn't gotten back to the other royals yet. She knew that the moment they came after her, it'd be over.

Kairi's hands had balled into fists- she'd never show her anger on her face, she never really had the choice; before she looked away. She was a different person than when she first ran away, even though it'd been a few months. But that didn't matter, not when she could still make a difference. Not when she could still stand. There was more she could say, more she could press into the issue- but she bit her tongue. She could mention the fact that she hasn't seen either of her older brothers in a year, she had no idea if either of them were even alive- she could mention the fact that she never knew her parents since she had been so young when they passed. She knew that some of the thoughts she held would make it worse. So instead, she let out a breath. "Just because you're a mercenary, that doesn't mean you're not a person. Maybe you're right and I don't have to care. But I choose to care, to try to do something. It may not mean much to you, but it means something to me."

She let out a breath and unclenched her fists before standing up. If you'd have looked at her hands, you'd see that she'd nearly drawn blood due to her nails- but she wouldn't say anything about it. It's not like she wasn't used to having to do that after the last year of her life. Kairi simply offered a somber half-smile at Basch- before turning away. "I'm going for a walk, but don't you worry. This pecky royal will be fine on her own for FIVE minutes."

"...but why?" The response had slipped out before she was really able to stop it. The claymore user had to stop herself from protesting, from telling Thoma why he shouldn't think about her, why he shouldn't worry- but she stopped herself. If Thoma wanted to worry about her, why shouldn't he? It's not like Astrid could really tell him what to do; and besides, it wasn't insane or weird to be worried about someone. They'd met a few times, typically Astrid had been traveling with her older brother or Hiccup while working on a commission or while they met with Ayato or Ayaka. This had really been the first time Astrid had ventured to Inazuma city by herself, not even with her brother; and it was to visit the Kamisato siblings... and Thoma.

"Sorry, that was... rude. I meant to greet you back and ask how you've been, but this is new to me. Having friends, I mean. Hiccup and Amber were my only friends for a while because my family's kind of... a lot." oh; if only Hiccup could see her now. She was clamming up-hHe'd probably tease her about it; Astrid of all people, getting flustered. It didn't help that she thought Thoma was cute. He and Hiccup didn't need to know that; although Hiccup's probably guessed it by now. "Well then, my slip-up aside, how've you been? It's been a while since I've been in the area."

Chloe had a smile on her face as she spoke, poking Sanji's shoulder. The food blogger was no stranger to food from all walks of life- it didn't matter where it from, she'd be willing to try it. She loved food, and people could fell by the way she lit up when she talked about it. Maybe it's because she's able to do what she loves now, but she didn't know for sure. Funny enough, that led her to meet Sanji- all because of her love of food.

"You're too good to me, Sanji. I'm going to have to return the favor one day, it's not fair to you that you're always doing the cooking. Although, I wish I was a better cook so I could return the favor."

There isn’t a recipe that I haven’t mastered or given my own spin yet,” cooking truly was the one area where Sanji’s ego became more noticeable to the average individual, though  he still tries his best to mask it behind his general  formal and gentlemanly demeanor (especially around women). Alas, he didn’t feel like he had to act that way with Chloe when they’re alone. She, probably not too subtly, ignored his comment about Kamoshida- but oh how hard it was. Nimona knew just how Ryuji felt about the guy. She resisted the urge to punch him, again, and get herself in even more hot water than she already had a habit of getting into. It's not her fault that he's got such a punchable face!

"Maybe I should take some with us when we start our investigation. Snacks on the go are always useful, I'm sure that our 'oh so brave' leader wouldn't mind."

“Kinda hard not to when that asshole is still flapping about like he owns the place,” their small group had made decent progress making their way up Kamoshida’s Palace on that other world, but they still haven’t found his supposed Treasure. So, he’s still out and about being a big son of a bitch.
