Sigh...
Okay hellsite users, we need to talk about something. Specifically fandom people. Yes, fuckers and simps of fictional people, this concerns you. Hey, hey, wake up. This is serious.
🔔🔔🔔
Y'all awake? Good.
I am noticing an ugly pattern.
We have talked about this already! Why does it keep happening?
ENGAGE IN THE FUCKING CONTENT CREATORS PUT OUT THERE.
And of course, likes are very nice. And yeah, engage with the content that editors, gif makers, artists are putting out there.
But specifically?
ENGAGE IN THE CONTENT FANFICTION WRITERS ARE POSTING.
I am noticing, and not only from my own experiences right now, that people only like stuff. Sure, liking is not bad, better than nothing, right?
The thing is that a like doesn't tell us a thing. It doesn't tell us if you liked it because it was good, or which part you liked.
I am seeing quite a few of my writer friends being discouraged from writing and posting due to: lack of response, a bunch of likes without reblogs in their fanworks, lack of interaction (and this is serious), LACK OF SHARING THE CONTENT IN THE FIRST PLACE.
Oh, we're not obligated to comment anything. Sure you aren't, but we are also not obligated to post out work, we could just open a Discord chanel or just share with close friends. Are you sure you don't want to keep reading new content of your fav characters, for free I might add?
I always add something in the tags whenever I reblog fanfiction. The thing is that most people are not even reblogging the work. How do you want for a fic you like to be recognized if you don't spread it? If you don't share it? It will become an archive otherwise.
Next time you see a fanfic that has way more likes than reblogs in the notes, and the writer decides to go on hiatus because they feel like their work doesn't get the recognition it deserves, I just want you to know that the lack of shares is partially to blame.
'Oh but you should write just for you' well I want you to tell that to published authors. I want you to tell them to only write for themselves... We would be robbed of many excellent texts.
REBLOG. ALL. THE. FANFICTION. YOU. READ. AND. END. UP. LIKING.
Also please reblog this.

Why do you reblog your own fics so much?
Because someone might as well!? And look at this. Look. At. This.
Does this look right to you??
These are just the last three fics I wrote. I appreciate the likes, believe me I do, but you have to understand. Likes do nothing for content creators. It’s the reblogs. Because that’s how you find shit on your dashboard. Through reblogs. Not likes. This isn’t twitter or tiktok or instagram. This is a website that’s run by the reblog system.
Reblogging helps content creators put their stuff out there. Why do you think so many people stopped writing fanfic and creating beautiful fanart and edits? It’s because they put in hours of work and don’t get nearly enough notes for their masterpieces. Yes we do this because we enjoy it but like…some validation won’t hurt. A boost of confidence here and there might be all someone needs to finish whatever thing they started and left.
Anyway, I’m still going to reblog my shit…
