This is a masterpost for the evacuation fundraisers I've vetted so far, a few other fundraisers I find trustworthy but have not been able to vet (inability to communicate with the organizer), and a few semi-completed fundraisers or fundraisers for a different purpose (like house rebuilding, or aid distribution). The numbers next to the names have no significance beyond ease of navigation for me for when I check their progress in the future. You should look at the disclaimers instead and focus on those. Occasionally I will update these with new info, including new fundraisers, and the amount of cash that's been raised. Check in regularly on the original post when you see it being reblogged. In all likelihood once its reached you it's already outdated. Also please don't overlook the Sustainable Aid options near the bottom! The brain drain is already creating problems but having another way of keeping or creating new knowledge and key members of a functioning society is important.

Honestly, a not-insignificant contributing factor to my mid-20s gender crisis is that I used to think I was viscerally repulsed by playing as male characters in video games, but eventually I realised it was literally just playing as smarmy brown-haired thirtysomething dudes with an emotional range running the gamut from dull surprise to generic rage that put me off, and basically every other sort of male player character was fine. It's just that this happened to be when the Uncharted series was really taking off, so a solid 50% of all male video game protagonist fit that mould! Nathan Drake sucks so much that he made me question my gender, is what I mean to say.

50. What belief / moral / personality trait do they stand by that you (mun) personally don’t agree with?

A big theme of Chiaroscuro is essentially that there's no such thing as "good" and "bad" traits- in that virtues can be maladaptive and vices can be beneficial, and it's a lot about how you observe and think about them. Part of that is that all the heroic characters have stereotypically Villainous Traits- and since Taylor's playing on the dark tyrant / rpg final boss Lord of Demons kind of archetype, their personal trait is tyranny.

They are a very controlling, pushy person, who's got a natural impulse to kind of weave themselves into other people's lives and try to help fix them. This creates a lot of problems and tends to tick people off, but at the end of the day, it's because Taylor genuinely deeply cares about people. If you earn their sincere trust, they will be one of your staunchest defenders.

The actual trait that's quieter and sneakier- and that makes this more maladaptive than not- is that Taylor tends to assume they know better than other people. This is a very fifteen-year-old vice; Taylor's smart and astute and thinks they have a real shot at changing up the world, which is very comprehensible, but they're weakening their genuine love and fascination for other people by propping up their ego about it. They're also dishonest with themselves about it- if pressed or asked, they don't see themselves as in charge, it's just that Good Ideas (their ideas) can occur to anyone and really anybody who should be in charge should agree with them, right?

(They will grow out of this a bit, but in other regards, well, a leopard doesn't change his spots)

55. What’s something they’re expected to enjoy based on their hobbies / profession that they actually dislike / hate?

The easy thing to go with would be their magic aptitude vs. their witch training, but Taylor doesn't precisely understand why their mentor is so pushy about it. It's not actually that Aunak thinks the only possible thing for Taylor to do is follow in her footsteps (though she does lean towards the idea it'd be good for Us All, a 'needs of the community' mindset looking at their immense natural talent), as much as Aunak is trying really, really hard to force the fifteen year old fleshsculptor mage to sign some equivalent of the hippocratic oath before they piss off to go Find Themselves in the big world out there, because she's perfectly aware of how stubborn and pushy they are, and if they have no reason to hesitate they could easily start doing things like "you were mean to me so I grabbed you by the heart until you behaved"

Perhaps a bit closer to the question- they come from a culture of elder worship (vulnerable members of the society get a bit more credence because survival's difficult!) but Taylor's general argumentative nature and [gestures above at their inclination to see themselves as The Smartest Person In The Room] means they have a tendency to bicker with prospective authority figures unless said authority seems to listen to them most of the time.

1. What’s the lie your character says most often?

"It's fine!" and variations thereof. To themselves as well as to others; they kind of use it as an unthinking regulatory, if it's not actually fine it will be fine, they'll make it fine, it's fine it's fine it's fine,

4. What’s a hobby they used to have that they miss?

Technically they still have the hobby of sewing they just don't quite have the stable time and resources to practice it so often! Which is aggravating to them.

12. What’s something that makes them laugh every single time? Be specific!

Tough question. Taylor is prickly and stubborn; they have a lot of ego wrapped up in seeming intelligent, aloof and discerning so they try very hard to resist any humor they see as cheap or lowbrow.

They genuinely enjoy puns and wordplay better than they try to let on, and particularly clever ones can pierce a bad mood or dislike of a person long enough to have them admit, ok, well, that was well-played, you're still a butt though.

26. How would they respond to being fired by a good boss?

Taylor is actually kind of immune to the usual forms of hierarchical rejection that you'd expect! A lot of their society and the particular way they themselves have internalized it is they tend to overestimate how much they're equal to anyone they're answering to. It makes them seem kind of presumptuous early on, and as they get more confident and savvy, it later comes off a bit more sinister.

So, generally speaking, if they particularly like the boss, they'd probably try to argue why that person needs them, potentially even to refusing to take 'no' for an answer and sticking around / helping otherwise. It'd depend on the boss's ability to convince them that the operation is fine or better off without them, or, failing that, give Taylor something else to do.

41. What phrases, pronunciations, or mannerisms did they pick up from someone / somewhere else?

Taylor has a relatively pronounced accent; they try very hard to speak 'correctly' but they grew up in a relatively isolated community. As for what that accent sounds like, that's something I'm still thinking over on the creatorial side- the inspirations I have for their home setting are a mix of far northern Japan and Siberia with some other stuff tossed in for flavor. A lot of the conlang words I've created for their setting have a lot of buzzy 'j's and rolling consonants, so that would likely affect a lot of how they talk.

They're honestly pretty quick to pick up on the turns of phrase of people they like or spend a lot of time around, often by first intentionally quoting or paraphrasing them and then it just sort of sneaks in. This is incidentally because they're a little too good at making up mental copies of people they know well- think of that one gag in ATLA where Zuko tries to imagine what Iroh would say, gives himself advice, and then says "even when I'm talking FOR him I have no idea what he's saying!"

Who do they like as a person but hate their work? Vice versa, whose work do they like but don’t like the person?

What common etiquette do they disagree with? Do they still follow it?

What simple activity that most people do / can do scares your character?

What do they feel guilty for that the other person(s) doesn’t / don’t even remember?

Did they take a cookie from the cookie jar? What kind of cookie was it?

What subject / topic do they know a lot about that’s completely useless to the direct plot?

How would they respond to being fired by a good boss?

What’s the worst gift they ever received? How did they respond?

What do they tell people they want? What do they actually want?

How do they respond when someone doesn’t believe them?

When they make a mistake and feel bad, does the guilt differ when it’s personal versus when it’s professional?

When do they feel the most guilt? How do they respond to it?

If they committed one petty crime / misdemeanor, what would it be? Why?

How do they greet someone they dislike / hate?

How do they greet someone they like / love?

What is the smallest, morally questionable choice they’ve made?

Who do they keep in their life for professional gain? Is it for malicious intent?

What’s a secret they haven’t told serious romantic partners and don’t plan to tell?

What hobby are they good at in private, but bad at in front of others? Why?

Would they rather be invited to an event to feel included or be excluded from an event if they were not genuinely wanted there?

How do they respond to a loose handshake? What goes through their head?

UPDATE: NORTH GAZA!
