Ever traded nails with any of the Mantis Lords, infected or not?

I have fought them before, yes. Their village serves as an easy shortcut into Deepnest, and they are great sparring partners when they are up for it. As much as it pains me to see their treatment of Deepnest’s former denizens, I understand that they did what needed to be done with their infected attackers.

Tell us, hornet of...Deepnest? Hollownest..? Well, in any case. What of the hunter that resides in greenpath? Do they ever give you any problems?

I came across the Hunter only once. I was exploring one of the deeper areas of Greenpath when I saw them amongst the greenery, and I must admit I hesitated before escaping. Something about those eyes in the darkness seemed familiar, and I did not notice when they made the first move.

I escaped easily enough, but not without a fight.

what about they midwife and the mask maker? Aren't they part of deepnest as well? Aren't they sane... or well, as sane as people who still chose to live in hollownest these days anyways?

The Midwife is still around, yes. After Herrah went into her slumber, she did not take it well, and once the bugs of Deepnest began to leave, or fell to infection, she only got worse. I visited her some here and there, but during my last visit, she did not seem to recognize me. She only spoke of feeling hungry, and eventually tried to attack me.

As for the mask maker..

They have never seen ‘sane’ in my mind, so I do not count them. They haven’t left their shop in years, despite the door being caved in and no customers coming to buy masks. They simply stay in their shop and work themself to death.

Do you see yourself as queen or no? I mean you are a child of the pale king and of the beast so you have a claim on 2 kingdoms.

If the ghost can prove themself to be worthy enough, they will take the King’s Brand. It will make them the rightful King of Hallownest, even if it is just a means to an end. I cannot claim that right, nor do I wish to. This kingdom was a husk long before the infection spread and I want no part of it.

As for Deepnest, I am not sure what I will do. The weaverling and I are, as far as I can tell, the only survivors. Many of its inhabitants either left to other lands or are infected. If the ghost can banish the infection, I will go home and figure out what to do from there.

I’m curious, have you met and talked to any other bugs before you met the ghost?

There was one, up at the Howling Cliffs when I last saw him. We did not talk too much, but I am curious of what that strange mask of his has lead him to by now.

There were others, long before, yes. The old one near the surface, for example. Last he spoke he seemed concerned about a new tent that had seemingly appeared out of thin air. I did not stick around to find out what he spoke of.

Does the Weaverling have a name?

They do not have a name, since they cannot speak yet to give themselves one. I call them just by what they are.

Greenpath is far from the safest place Hollownest has to offer, so that being said, what is it that brings you here?

As for safety, it is marginally better than most of Hallownest. The Crossroads have become infected beyond help, the City of Tears is crawling with husks, and anything beyond or below there is dangerous for even a skilled nail wielder. While I do not doubt my own abilities, this place is good for a respite if anything.

Have you come across any vessels besides the Ghost in your travels? Plagued by the infection or not.

I have come across a few in my time, shambling their half empty selves across all places of Hallownest.

They prove to be useless, showing no signs of a will to fight or protect themselves. The few who have taken up a nail are clumsy, and quickly fall by my needle. They are not worth my time or empathy.

The ghost, however..

They may prove themselves yet to be capable of reigniting this husk of a kingdom. But I will not hold any hope for them yet, they have much to learn.

If anyone survived the infection or was not cut down by the Mantis Tribe, I do not know. During my last visit this one followed me out, and there is simply nowhere safer than by my side for them.

Though… I cannot help but to hope there are more hiding in the darkness there.

Hello, good Hornet. How's everything? How's Little Ghost?

I, however, am fairing well despite the kingdom’s collapse. It is not a perfect situation, but at least I still have my mind unlike the many others I have encountered.
