--------------- Lewistown is an Amtrak station located about 60 miles northwest of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania at PA 103 and Helen Street. The station is actually located across the Juniata River from Lewistown proper, a little less than one mile south of the center of town. It is currently served by two Amtrak trains a day, the eastbound Pennsylvanian to New York City via Harrisburg and Philadelphia at around 11:21 AM, and the westbound Pennsylvanian to Pittsburgh via Altoona at around 3:45 PM (and before 2005, it was also served by the Three Rivers, successor to the Broadway Limited). In between those trains are a large quantity of freight trains operated by Norfolk Southern. It is those freight trains that are the focus point of these videos, and there are a lot of them; the Pittsburgh Line is one of Norfolk Southern's busiest freight corridors with up to 50-70 trains a day. Much of that traffic is comprised of intermodals, as well as coal trains, manifests, and oil trains. The station depot at Lewistown bears the distinction of being the oldest surviving structure to be built by the Pennsylvania Railroad, the original operators of the line. --------------- If you like my videos, consider joining this channel to get access to perks like custom emojis: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCcXq_uoAGafTEoT5FTS2eNQ/join Alternatively, you can give a Super Thanks by clicking on the Thanks icon. ---------- Additional Resources: My full trainspotting videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxqTTOxj0xPwmHK7sfy6U0fKEzmMLFJg1 Norfolk Southern manifest trains at Lewistown, PA: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxqTTOxj0xPywvUjCvSYjSEzF1Y7hr9Lr Norfolk Southern heritage units at Lewistown, PA: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLxqTTOxj0xPyUaQo3nxNWKaCe65BHcZck Other Norfolk Southern freight trains at Lewistown, PA: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLmRcaP1i3kA0h2iu0P-75Kr2i7IXvCFDl

Just me experimenting a bit with YouTube filters. This is the meet I recorded on 10/25/2022 between two trains that had heritage units: a westbound intermodal led by #NS8102 (Pennsylvania Railroad) and an eastbound 213 car manifest that had #NS8104 (Lehigh Valley) as a mid-train DPU helper.
