Elemental is still living rent free in my head haha and since I finally finished a big commission I was working on the past month, I can draw some personal stuff yaay

I got inspired by @paperbagedhead , @abbytabbys and @cyndavilachase with their Elemental oc kids, so I wanted to design a child for Wade and Ember as well =) I wasn't too creative with the name I reckon, but I couldn't think of another name that I liked.

I thought that when Misty was a toddler she struggle to keep floating in the same place, and was often blown away by the wind (which made her temporarily afraid of heights, the irony). So, in her early years she would often be wearing her mother's dress and boots to stay in the same place. (She did not like the weight of the clothes, though).

In her teens, Misty became a lot more reserved and had difficulty connecting with other elements, since her parents were one of the first inter-elemental couples in the city. She really wanted to fit in and tried to apply for the junior windbreakers (I loved this idea from @cyndavilachase), but got rejected because she wasn't "windy" enough for the games. These were challenging years for Misty, since she struggled a lot trying to be more "watery" or "fiery" but never really fitting in.

As an adult, Misty finally found her true passion and self-confidence, becoming an engineer. Since she is made of steam, I wanted to give her kind of a steampunk vibe, which carries an interesting mix of water and fire motifs. She enjoys solving problems and building devices. I envision that she would mainly work fixing old pipes and structures in Firetown, and in a near future, she'd build better air transportations suited for fire people.

Misty got her mother's knack for building stuff. She often tries to solve things in the most logical way. It is very difficult to make her truly angry, but when she does… (I'm still trying to figure out more ideas for her, but I think this is it for now. Hope you like the sketches! I had a lot of fun)

The Ts'íts'àsh (Firish) Language from Elemental

Jessie Sams (@quothalinguist) and I created a language for Pixar's latest film Elemental. We created both a spoken language and writing system that are used in spots throughout the film. It's out today, so if you watch it, see if you can spot any of it! We had a lot of fun creating a language the requested "sound like fire". A tough thing to do with a human mouth, but we had some fun with it! Some language highlights:

Recently I bought game pass for pc and finally got to play Psychonauts 2. I'm still very far from the ending, but I'm really liking the game so far. The only bummer is that I feel like every character is either dismissive or completely rude towards the protagonist, which makes me not like very much any of the new characters. So I thought, "Raz surely deserved a better group of friends... What if I draw other psychic characters in Psychonauts style?" It was challenging trying to emulate the game style, I don't know if I nailed it, but it was a great learning experience.

I'm still aliive lol Lately I've only had time to do commissions and commit to my full-time job as animator, but I have nothing to complain.This illustration is a partnership with the Brazilian page Bia lendo Harry (instagram: @bialendoharry), hosted by my awesome friend and college classmate Beatriz Masson. 

She always has a new and refreshing literary analysis of the Harry Potter franchise, even for the seasoned fans, but she is also very welcoming to any newcomers to the HP universe.

For this month I was asked to illustrate all the mother characters who defined the choices and destiny of the boy who lived: Merope Gaunt, Lily Potter, Molly Weasley and Narcissa Malfoy.

I admit that I was not happy at all with my nudibranch picture (see https://gerugeon.tumblr.com/post/634266897781800960/eng-have-to-admit-this-is-not-my-strongest-piece) so I really wanted to draw another animal, more in tune with the overall theme of Brazilian animals.

HUEVEMBER DAY 30: Little Green-Tree Frog

Nem dá para acreditar que finalmente terminei o desafio. Pude aprender um bocado desenhando animais tão diferentes. Talvez eu volte e refine alguns dos desenhos, mas no geral estou bem satisfeita com o resultado.

Spectacled caimans have earned their common name due to a spectacle-like ridge between its eyes XD such creative names

They are present in other countries of South America as well, but I really wanted to practice drawing/painting a crocodile. Jacaretinga

Eu tinha prometido a mim mesma que terminaria esse projeto de qualquer jeito, então aí vai... Só faltam dois...

O jacaretinga também é conhecido como jacaré-de-óculos por conta do formato da estrutura óssea logo abaixo de seus olhos, como se fosse o aro de um óculos. Aqui no Brasil ganhou o nome de jacaretinga por ter um dorso branco (tinga é branco em tupi).

In your Wolfwalkers/wolf children piece what where all the other characters in the walls? I got Aisling and princess mononoke but I didn't recognise the rest and would like some more wolf themed media to watch!

It has been a while since I last posted... This was done for a crossover contest. I had just finished watching "Wolfwalkers", and the animation and story simply blew me away. So I knew I wanted to do something related to it. I stopped to think of other media about wolves, and so I thought it would be interesting if these wolf characters were all related, carrying a shared cultural and mystical heritage.So here we have Mebh, one of the protagonists of Wolfwalkers, in her spirit wolf shape, guiding the young Ame (one of the protagonists of the Japanese movie, "Wolf Children", by Mamoru Hosoda), introducing him to all he need to know about wolfwalkers. HUEVEMBER DAY 27 Long time no see! Didn't travel anywhere during holidays, but I wanted to just take a good rest before going back to work. There are still four pictures left for this challenge, and it's already a new year, but I want to finish this no matter what. This is a green jararaca, also known as Two-striped forest-pitviper (phew, what a long name...) A very species of snake, found in the Amazon forest and very venomous.

PT-BR Faz um bom tempinho que não posto aqui, queria tirar umas boas férias e descansar, apesar de não ter viajado pra lugar nenhum XD Ainda faltam 4 desenhos para terminar esse desafio, e já é um novo ano, mas eu realmente queria completar o Huevember. Essa é uma jararaca verde, cobra-papagaio, tem vários nomes... Uma espécie bem rara de cobra que vive no alto das árvores na Amazônia, e é bem venenosa.

I got hired as a 2d animator in a local studio, so I didn’t have time to spend on personal projects until now. But I really want to complete Huevember, so there you go. Better late than sorry.

I only know the colloquial name of this lizard in Portuguese, but I know its scientific name is  Anolis phyllorhinus. They have this huge protuberance in its nose to find a mate.

Consegui um emprego de animação num estúdio local, então meus dias tem sido bem corridos. Só agora é que tive tempo para voltar para projetos pessoais, e eu definitivamente quero terminar o Huevember. 

Esse é o lagarto papavento narigudo. Ele já tem um papo inflável super colorido para atrair as fêmeas, mas se só o “papo” não for suficiente (haha que trocadilho ruim), ele ainda conta com essa enorme protuberância no nariz.

Próximos dias vamos ter mais répteis por aqui porque percebi que não desenhei muitos deles.

ENG Should have posted this yesterday, but didn't have time... Now we're getting to the most difficult color to nail down, in my opinion... Green. Ugh, It's very difficult for me to discern all the values and still keep the picture interesting. This is a Rufous-vented Ground-Cuckoo, an endemic bird of Atlantic Forest in South America.
