The mystery of borrowed books. The question is always who had the book, what was their experience, how did they treat the book and so on.
I personally am not a fan at borrowing a book from anyone, nor the library because I get attached to the book I read.
Yet, for these following 5 reasons I consider lending/borrowing books or even just taking part at a library a plus:
1. You get to read as many books are you wish if you get them from a library. Usually libraries allow for people to borrow between 4/6 books depending on the library and the request. At my university I can borrow 6 books, yet at the nearest library where I live I can get 4.
Often books can be extremely expensive!
2. Donating books you make sure that other people can actually read and choose among a large variety. And it seems a fair exchange. And if you’re trying to make some space in your home library, you know they will be well treated!
3. You could get to meet other fanatic readers like yourself and exchange opinions about books! In a book shop people tend to keep to themselves, buy a book and leave, whereas even in the most silent library some people stay to read or in those where talking is allowed the atmosphere is less tense and chatting with a complete stranger seems easier.
4. Funny enough having to return a book with a deadlines makes so that if you’re an avid reader, yet sometimes lazy, having to return a book in little time makes you want to read it fully! Or it is just me?
For the entire year I took between high school and college I borrowed books and read novels and classics that I never thought I would exactly choose, yet did because I didn’t worry about the number of books I would have to buy (and money to spend) and that I wanted to finish them. If you take time a little every day there is no rush in reading them!
5. Last, but not least, if you’re interested in doing something valuable in your area in your free time, many libraries like to have volunteers come over and help. And as in my local library, free language classes are offered for adults, children and events are organized. Many volunteers help also in those classes.
So even if the books are not yours, libraries remain a major contribution to the world to keep up with the reading community.

...I would also add to date an owner of book shop so that I could spend time at the shop, or have books as gifts at any occasion. Even bookshop owners as my parents....just literally anything to own in one way or another a huge place filled with books and just read all the time. #daydream

Available for print. Well, isn’t that also consumerism? Paradox.
In any case give it another look, and wonder is the messages that these make you think of anything?
When was the last time you recycled? You spent time in nature? Or thoughts where the products you have come from? Food, clothes, technology? (hint: go visit both Mac, and Samsung websites and look for where and how they are made)

Sure, there were dead people, and students, and loss. Nothing can bring those lives back, but prevention should begin to exist - finally! - after so many deaths already!
Let’s go ask the people what they would do. Action has to happen here and now.

President Obama after Oregon shooting: “Our thoughts and prayers are not enough.”
Hours after today’s massacre in Oregon, President Obama took the podium for the 15th time after a mass shooting. Sounding stern and appearing frustrated, Obama challenged Americans to respond more forcefully to this shooting. His full, impassioned statement is one every American needs to hear.

As I would say in Italian, “Oh Santi!” (Oh saints) in a very humorist exclamation. The funny part? In Italy a comedian actually became a politician (go check out Beppe Grillo) so now who should I listen to?
Media is definitely not a good source at its base, nor comedians - although I agree some point out real things - and politicians are to be taken at a long distance.

Reading an ‘anxious’ book
The moment the book you’re reading makes you very very anxious. It could be I am naturally stressed myself, yet which books are advised to be read when you’re nervous?
Currently reading Patrick Suskind, “The Pigeon” any suggestions?

Long time no see.
It has been a long time since I last wrote something on Tumblr. Many things have changed. Many things have evolved. I begun college, and next May I am actually graduating.
The older I get, the harder it gets. And it is with the prospective that things have changed, and all around me has changed, so that I view even Tumblr differently. Maybe a bit distant, yet I miss the freedom I got from writing. Anything. Because the idea was that nobody were to read it.
But if you’re out there. Maybe by accident read this. Let me know you’re there. And that despite of anything you’re holding on whatever happens.
“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, when one only remembers to turn on the light.” - Albus Dumbledore
And so on with this light!

Quote
It is strange how we hold on to the pieces of the past while we wait for our futures.
Ally Condie (via thatlitsite)
And at times, I can add, there is little to wait for our futures. It is more hoping, and less doing. For often it is our own will that brings us forward, not any hope for the future. Our own will that if we actually do something now, there might be something to look forward to in the future.
The past makes us who we are now, but the present makes us who we can be, while the future is the idea of what we could do if we were who we wished to be.

She needs a lot of help. SHARE AND DONATE. :)
Tumblr media
#Repost faineemae ・・・ This is Boshra, she really needs everyone’s help in getting her story out about her battle with cancer so people can donate the money she needs in order to be able to seek treatment. This is quickly becoming an urgent matter, please take a moment to share her story in anyway you can on any social media platform. I just want to say thank you to those who have continously shown support for everything I’m trying to do, even when it’s something difficult like this. Thank you to those who have helped this young girl and helped me spread the word about her, thank you for being the people you can count on even during hard times and not just the good ones because true friendship and support extends through every obstacle. And those who have completely shown ignorance and have turned a blind eye towards my requests to help this young girl even if it meant just sharing a simple link on facebook, may Allah swt guide you and open your heart to being there for others not just when it benefits you or your image. It’s not something I wanted to comment on but I’m absolutely disheartened by the lack of support from “friends” and Boshra doesn’t need your “likes” - she needs action and people to spread the word, that’s all I’m asking for, not even donations bc I know not everyone can donate but you are all capable of sharing her story - the link is in my bio so please share when you all can! peace and be well ✌ #donate #muslims #fundraiser #health #support #medical #cancer ・・・ www.gofundme.com/h97p4s
