Badgers and coyotes hunt together. It's a thing. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service explains that “studies have shown that this unusual relationship is beneficial for both species. The coyote can chase down prey if it runs and the badger can dig after prey if it heads underground into its burrow systems.”
I can’t stop getting emotional about how tenderly a shepherd caresses his dog’s face on this marble sarcophagus from the third century
The dog’s face is just so lovingly crafted and it’s much more finely detailed than some of the other animals in the piece. The expression is pure contentment and devotion. This scene is a tiny portion of a huge elaborate sculpture but I really feel like the artist was trying to capture a specific emotion with these two. The way that you feel when you look at your dog is thousands of years old.
Of course a shiny cyber-arm is mega rad. Of course enhanced reflexes are gnarly. Of course full body mods are totally tubular. This is what cyberpunk is about, transcending our flesh and blood bodies.
But metal and chrome aren't the only way. Wouldn't you like to be softer? Flexible? Indestructible? Made of felt?
Wouldn't you like to be a Muppet? Go full-felt. Become the Muppet you always knew you were inside.
I'm gonna reblog with some videos of people speaking various American Indian/indigenous American languages, because I think most people don't even know what they sound like. Not to be judgement of that—just, you know, I think people who want to be informed should know what they sound like!
