MSHA silica standard enacted!!! mining workers now have a federal silica dust standard in line with other industries, cutting the acceptable limit by half. the new rule also requires mine operators outside the coal sector to provide similar free health exams to miners

it is my nine-year anniversary this week & to celebrate it my partner made a $50 donation to the appalachian citizens' law center, a nonprofit organization which assists black lung benefits claimants, in my name, which is why i am making this post while wearing an extremely sick 'black lung kills' shirt. love is real! & if we all work together, we can make black lung not be!

#have definitely ridden a horse; have ridden enough horse that they occasionally used to pay me to do it #voted that i can't ride a bike tho bc i haven't been on one in years; i probably can ride a bike but— #i voted for the funniest option which is definitely 'no bike yes horse'. don't expect good data from tumblr dot gov :) #it's fun to ride a horse. it's probably fun to ride a bike! but if you're riding a horse you're hanging out with your buddy the horse #so it wins by default. if you would like to ride a horse i hope you get to do it & you have a good experience #i miss teaching people to ride horses. it was cool
