Girlflux culture is feeling extremely neutral one day and freaking out because you think you’re feeling masc and now you have to re-evaluate everything. Because fluid/flux microlabels are a pain to sort through but you don’t like the feeling of “close enough” labels

This poll is for multigender people only! If you're not multigender but you want to see the results, you can wait a few days for the poll to be over, or just shoot me an ask and I will be happy to share a screenshot because I love rambling about numbers. Please do not vote if you're not multigender.
If you use aux pronouns, it's up to you whether you want to include them in your total number of pronoun sets.

is it possible to fake being girlflux? like could I have convinced myself that i experience a fluctuating gender… but actually not?
I know people who've identified as girlflux and realized it wasn't right for them, but those people were just figuring themselves out at the time and realized it wasn't the right label for them.
From a psychological standpoint, technically yes, though I'm going to go with no and I'll tell you why. You won't just make things up just because, for some reason or another you looked at this label and said; "Hey this might be me!" That's important, and perhaps you have to do some more reflecting on yourself and maybe you aren't girlflux.
Although lots of times people will try and convince themselves that they're faking it, or that they're being dramatic, or want attention etc. That could be dysphoria, internalized transphobia, or if your in a toxic environment that could also influence your thought process.
Just know whatever you figure out, if you realize perhaps you aren't girlflux, or that yes, you are girlflux that this community will always be here for you.

cw: transprejudice and vent questioning girlflux culture is being told by your best friend that you’re just trying to fit in with a trend by being girlflux. the friend tells you to try and take your mind off it because ‘the more you think about it the more you feel it’. so essentially this friend tells you that you’re making this all up, and since this person is your best friend you feel like you should believe them since they know you so well and are looking out for you.

questioning girlflux culture is sometimes wanting to wear super feminine and brightly coloured clothes, and sometimes wanting to wear more androgynous clothes with a different aesthetic. unfortunately i mainly own the first type of clothes so when i feel more androgynous i don’t have many good clothes to wear.

Yeah I guess that would be feeling like a lack of gender but I don't like feel like I missing something or whatever, I just don't really understand gender? But I wouldn't feel comfortable saying I'm agender or something bc I don't feel like I don't have a gender. I just don't get it ig? I'm afab and fine being a girl but I don't feel "wow I'm such a girl. I feel so female!" I'm just a girl just bc I was raised that way I think. That is probably either a very cis thing or a very agender thing lol
I giggled I bit when I read your response! Perhaps it's a little bit of both? I'm also kinda at a loss here I'm not going to lie, but if you feel like you want some more answers the gender wiki is always a good place to start! They have a lot of genders on their wiki, so you might be searching for a while. Another place worth checking out, is the pronouns page - if you ever struggle with pronouns that's a good place to start!
Keep us updated if you want, if you need anymore help we're always open! Just know that you are always welcomed here!

(Same anon) I guess my question is when you are more feminine on some days and more agender on others, what is that like? I keep seeing people describe gender by saying they "feel" *insert gender here* but I don't really understand that so I guess I wanna know what gender is or is like? Idk lol
It's like this weird shifting feeling that fluctuates in between a bunch of things depending on the person. Some people it's this line between girl and agender, for some people it goes farther than that.
Gender in itself is a social construct that society created, (think of money) meaning the way everyone actually feels gender (and the way they define it) is different and perhaps you're feeling a lack of gender?
Girlflux is the intensity (think of %) your gender changing and flowing on whatever "scale" you have for yourself.
I think maybe you might be searching for answers you already have, in the end you are the only one who knows what you are, and maybe that's girlflux maybe that's not. Just don't let anyone tell you who you are!
I have a good day/night!
