Hex editing villager homes

This is a guide on how to hex edit villager homes. Editing the exterior is not possible, so I will only cover interior decoration. I had no prior experience with hex editing and you do not really need any if you follow this guide closely. This guide is in fact written for people who have no clue about hex editing but still want to do it, so I advise those familiar with hex editing to ignore my simplistic and shallow approach when it comes to finding the locations to edit. Please keep in mind that hex editing might be more risky than using any of the other hacks, so make sure to always keep an unaltered back-up for emergency cases.

If you use this guide to edit villager homes, I would like to urgently ask you not to adopt out or void hex edited villagers. A lot of people accidentally lose their villagers, so custom villagers will inevitably spread in the ACNL community. People who are not able/willing to hack cannot revert these changes (e.g. floors/wallpapers/certain items). Thank you for being considerate of other people’s gaming experience.
