Suzanne Collins gripping my face with her hands: listen listen the first step to evil is dehumanisation, always, the second you start to see people as less than people no matter what they've done to you that's when you start heading down a path of selfish destruction and violence

It's so funny that Misa is famous. Imagine that you're a normal ass cop and you get put on a special task force to catch a mass murderer. And you meet with the expert detective in charge. And he tells you your top 2 suspects are a random teenager and like. Ariana grande

I think about that imposter syndrome story all the time that neil gaiman tells about when he was at this fancy cool event and got to talking to another neil and at one point this other neil was like wow i don’t even know why little old me was invited here and gaiman said well you were the first man on the moon. Story of all time to me such a comfort whenever i’m in another spiral yes everyone feels like this even neil armstrong

Some good vibes this morning, listening to “Signs of Life” as I paint, and now that I’m done I’m going to read some more Neil Gaiman.

for a bonus, tag a friend in your rb or the replies
this giveaway is open internationally to anywhere that can accept shipments from USPS. while it is taking place across platforms, there will only be one winner because it took me months to annotate a single copy.
the giveaway will run until 9a.m. EST this Friday, 26 April 2024.
in the meantime, you can take a quiz to find out which character from The Remarkable Retirement of Edna Fisher you are: click here to take quiz on UQuiz

❤️‍🔥 Introducing the Medieval Dragon by Thomas Honegger
Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
The aim of this book is to explore the characteristics of the medieval dragon and discuss the sometimes differing views found in scholarship, religion, folklore, and literature of the medieval texts.
This was most definitely just an introduction to a time period of the dragon in western medieval times, but I found the sections interesting to follow and learn about the importance of imagery and, especially in literature, the formulas to dragon stories.
This book stuck to just medieval texts which brought out a lot of academic information that was sometimes hard to swallow and I wish the author hadn’t put so many excerpts into the literature section, but all in all an interesting book!
