Ignore the background, recently got back from vacation in New Jersey. But here's my chiweenie Chessnut, who chose to squish my arm because she wanted to lie down right next to me. It's late so I should be sleeping but I wanted this on video because she's never done that. Usually she lies down on top of my legs, only going next to me when I am asleep/call her there.

We might have to put my older dog down soon (he’s around 16, miniature poodles can live up to around 20 years old. he has teeth problems (before we took him in, my step dad did not brush his teeth or anything) and is blind and mostly deaf. We can get his teeth taken out, but his mouth will hurt for around a week afterwards and because of the fact that we are being forced to move soon, his blindness might be torture) so I can definitely relate. August 5th of 2020 my grandma had to put down her 7-year-old girl, Goldie, due to lymphoma. She was literally the best little one. less than a week later, Sophie (her other dog, a bit older) died from kidney failure(she had a good amount of problems due to being a puppy mill rescue, but she was happy and surrounded by family). she could have fought it, but both my grandpa and Goldie had died by then so I guess she decided to not fight. She didn’t really like people touching her, but a few days before she passed away, she let me HOLD her. Thankfully, my chiweenie Chessnut doesn’t seem to have any problems at the moment, but who knows. she’s a rescue, so we don’t know anything about her past besides what she’s shown us (she’s extremely afraid of men, especially ones with beards. except for my dad. they cut off her tail wrong when they did it, so its like a hook now. her previous owner(s) weren’t necessarily abusive, but she does still have trauma from before. She was unnamed, so who knows.

Whatever these things are in Philadelphia. We passed by them and I literally have no idea what either is supposed to be

The trouble with public art installations is that even among those that don’t strive to be inoffensively bland, too many of them are designed to be cute or inspiring or edgy or otherwise provoke a specific, well-defined emotion. What we need is more public art whose intended reaction is “what in the goddamn…?”

Honestly, that actually makes a bit of sense. Idk if it's just because I'm up at 11:35 because my little sis (5) wanted to watch frozen 2 and it's only just begun tho. Anyway, chemistry is one of the only classes I've actually fallen asleep in. And my first teacher failed me because I had gotten covid and then she expected me to catch up by using Google or something
Why is chemistry so hard?
Probably because it has a cubic crystal structure.

I would like to be introduced to the chis you know
Here's a Chihuahua named Rosie I met a few minutes ago. She's a sweetheart. Applehead Chihuahua, so she does have the eyes that stick out a bit and she's constantly shaking (it was dark so the pictures arent that good)

As a fellow chihuahua-mix owner (My girl's name is Chessnut, she is a Chiweenie)(we adopted her a few years ago, her previous owner(s) had tried cutting off her tail (we don't know why) but did a horrible job... Most of it is gone but there is a little bit of skin and fur that makes a sort of hook-shape), I can confirm that she is more overprotective/ready to hunt than my dad's Rhodesian Ridgeback-Cur mix. Heck, sometimes she'll even pick a fight with him (his name is Champ, he literally looks like a big version of Chessnut but with a tail) just because I was playing with a tennis ball (that she wouldn't even pick up, just chase after) with Champ. Because of the pandemic and the fact that we live in an apartment, she has not been able to roam a backyard in MONTHS... She loves being pet and stuff, but sometimes she will sit by the sliding glass door until we let her out onto the porch, where she will sit in the sun and bark at strangers passing by. She loves going for runs, so hopefully we can do that again soon... (FOR REFERENCE: here they are on the couch together)

Sometimes I wonder if people are more willing to recognize pit bull aggression as abuse than chihuahuas aggression because chihuahuas are “girly dogs”. People tend to have a much easier time hating “girly” things.
After meeting a lot of other chihuahua owners my experience is that they’re like less independent terriers. They should be treated accordingly.
