Finished knitting a blanket for the animal shelter and learned a brioche stitch in single color 😻 two strands of worsted weight make it so squishy 💕 Birdie is a great quality control inspector 😂
Got tired of looking at the dusty mess. Almost all this is The Husband’s but it doesn’t bother him so I’m going to see how long it takes him to notice 😂 I didn’t get rid of anything (because hello it’s not mine to get rid of) but I did organize it by topic and put the heaviest stuff on the bottom shelves (before on left, after in right) 🌞
My arms are READY and WAITING for that sweet sweet vaccine shot!
you see.
im dubious about this.
a vaccine HAS THE VIRUS IN IT.
with my luck, i will contract the virus after getting the shot.
and with my health the way it is, im much more vulnerable to that.
please, I beg of you, do a minute’s worth of research on the covid vaccine. it will not have the virus in it. it will contain antibodies that fight the virus. which is exactly why people need to wait and get a booster shot and wait some more, to give those antibodies time to build up in the body.
also, vaccines that *do* contain a tiny amount of a virus in them contain a *weakened* virus, in such a *miniscule* amount that it triggers the body to create antibodies, without making the person sick with that virus (unless that person has an autoimmune disease that would compromise the process, or is an infant whose body can’t do that yet, or a very old person whose body can’t do it anymore. the reason it’s so important for as many people as possible to get vaccinated is to protect exactly those people who *can’t* get vaccinated).
that is how vaccines work. that is why you don’t have measles, mumps, or rubella. this is why polio stopped being a thing. please. do your research. this is very easily accessible information.
They’re mRNA vaccines! (which are super cool and I highly recommend reading up on them)
In short, they actually dont contain the virus or antibodies for the virus either. They contain mRNA, which works like a blueprint telling your cells to build something. In this case to build a certain protein that is found the surface of the virus (not build the whole virus! only this one protein that cant do any damage by itself). Your body then makes its own antibodies for this protein.
So basically these work like live virus vaccines in that it triggers your body to make its own antibodies. However they don’t contain the actual virus like in the live vaccines, meaning the vaccine absolutely cannot give you the virus!
So stop making excuses and get vaccinated once we can!
Unfucked the miscellaneous craft storage drawers. FOUR empty drawers now. Sad to let go of it but some of it was over 20 years old! I had such great ideas for projects. However, it was more stressful to have it just sitting there, mocking me and my overly ambitious goals. So, I do feel better now (especially since it’s all being donated).
A little over three 20/10s and one side of the driveway is edged (manually ugh I wish we could buy an electric edger that wasn’t a crappy string weed wacker thingy). I did sweep and use vinegar in the cracks/seams after weeding them.
At this rate, it will take me at least another 3-4 sessions to finish the driveway, curbside, and house sidewalk. I don’t want to over do it and bring on a flare. But it’s still progress!
Four more 20/10s. The pain definitely slowed me down today but some edging is better than nothing!
Woo hoo! More edging! Three 20/10s and now both sides of the driveway are done. Only the street and sidewalk at the house is left. Progress is progress!
