OK I found this in my notes while I was looking through snippets I wrote before Tumblr. Thought I'd share it here, because I actually really like it!
It's from March. So sorry if the writing is cringy or weird 😭😭 I'm pretty sure this was based on the concept art where Mirabel would go into Casita's walls. So. Yeah.
-----
5 year old Mirabel sobbed in the nursery. A month ago her door disappeared. In front of everyone. She had no gift. No way to help her family. And instead of comforting words, he family looked at her in fear and disappointment.
All except for her Tío Bruno and Camilo. They ran over to her immediately, hugging her and reassuring her that she did nothing wrong, why the rest of her family were trying to comfort the villagers, rather than the one in true distress.
Mirabel looked up. She was alone in this nursery. Camilo had left to go to bed (his mamá looked at Mirabel with what she thought was fear, maybe even...anger?). Abuela called her tío, leaving her alone that night.
Her Abuela never came. Her mamá and papá never came. Her sisters nor prima ever came. No one. Evryone started to either be mean to her or ignore her entirely. She only had Casita.
She sniffled, poking her head over the edge of the bed. "Casita, did I do something...wrong?" She asked, big tears falling onto her glass and the floor.
Casita flipped its floorboards in aggressive disagreement.
Mirabel wiped her eyes and layed her head down.
"I just wish I had gotten a door...Everyone looked so sad or mean. Except for Tío Bruno and Camilo. But Tío Bruno is gone and Tía won't let me play with Camilo. A-Are you mad at me?" She asked, worry filling her already glassy red eyes.
Casita once again aggressively disagreed.
Casita fliped the floorboards under the bed, causing Mirabel to bounce off and land on the floor.
"Casita?" She asked curiously. Looking at the time, it was late; 11 p.m. "I-It's late, I gotta get to bed." She stood up and walked towards the bed, nightgown already on.
Casits nudged the toddler away from the bed and towards the door.
"W-What are you doing? Mirabel was only met with more pushing, she was out in yhe hallway. It was empty and silent, and she didn't like it. "I don't wanna be here..." She whispered.
Casita slowed down. Why wasn't she listening, all she needed to do was listen! Casita had a surprise, just look! Casita, despite Mirabel's protest, pushed her to the empty hallway where he door would have been.
"C-Casita I don't wanna..." She teared up again, turning so her back was facing the wall.
Now! Do it now! Casita rumbled its tiles.
Mirabel looked the floor below, her barefeet on the floor. "Why did you brung me here..."
A soft gold glow emitted from behind her. Mirabel noticed the light reflecting onto the ground and swiftly turned to face the wall. She gasped, looking at the shimmering light.
There was no door but the wallpaper was glowing. The 5 year old stepped closer reaching out. "Is this...for me?" She whispered, loik at the tiles for confirmation. Casita flipped its tiles in a way that meant "Yes." Mirabel giddily walked closer, reaching out to touch the wall. When her hand connected with the wallpaper, her hand was warm with magic and she went into the colorful place.
As she took in her surroundings, she smiled. She didn't have a door, but she did have a cool space to play!
The place she was in was wonderful. It wasn't in the walls, but in the wallpaper. It was a rather large room, complete with a bed and furniture set. The bed was suspended in the air by what looked like strings of light? There were butterfly shaped lights hanging from the ceiling, and a nice little area where she could relax if she wanted. There was even a desk area for her to practice sewing!
Spotted a toybox in the corner. Being a 5 year old, she quickly ran over, giggling. Throwing the box open, she found tons of toys. "Toys!" She yelled happily. Grabbing two dolls, she began to play pretend. A wooden board from below her bounced her up and down as she played.
Mirabel smiled. "Gracias, Casita, your the best! I love it here!" She smiled, continuing to play with the toys.
She played for about 3 hours before getting tired. She slipped into the bed, sayig goodnight to Casita as she removed her glasses and fell asleep.
Casita rung a loud alarm clock, awakening Mirabel. She yawned, putting her glasses in. She took a minute to take in her surroundings, before smiling widely, happy that her wallpaper room wasn't a dream. Looking at the clock, she saw that it was 7:00 a.m.
After getting dressed, she found herself using the desk, practicing her embroidery. Her small hands were still wobbly, and she found herself pricking her fingers more than once. She had taken up the hobby after her gift ceremony. No one would play or talk to her very often anymore, so she found herself in the nursery again and again...
Casita once again rang the clock, signaling it was 9:30.
"Time for breakfast!" She giggled, jumping off of the chair, she went back towards the wall. Seeing as there was no door, she assumed she would just go through the wallpaper again. Mirabel lifted her hands towards the wall, and to her surprise, it shone gold.
She hopped through, jumping into the hallway. Looking behind her, the wall was normal, as if she never went through it.
"Whoa...." She whispered. Wait! She had to get to breakfast! She skipped down the hall, humming a tune. These days, she had been sad, dragging herself down the hallway. But now that she has a room, she's so much happier! She can't wait to tell her familia! Maybe they'll be nice again and Tío Bruno will come back?
Casita made the stairs a slide, and she slid down giggling. Out one of the many windows, she spotted her family outside. It looked like thay had just been getting ready to eat. But something about them was...off.
Firstly, there was a large cloud from her tía looming over the table. Second, the whole family looked..disheveled. Tired. Her mamá, papá and sisters look the most distressed. The others either had looks of worry, sadness, or tiredness.
Mirabel curiously went out to the courtyard, peeking around the corner.
"I know you all must be very stressed, but I promise you, we will find Mirabel. She could not have gone far." Her Abuela spoke.
Find her? Mirabel just came for breakfast though. No one came to wake her up from the nursery anymore because that was her job! And last night she had only slept in her new room over night, maybe 5 hours at best! And she knew she had woken up on time, so what did they mean?
"Mamá, we need to find her! My baby, I need my..." Julieta sobbed into her husband. Pepa's cloud thundered, and soon it began to do drizzle over the table. The thunder clapped again, this time much louder, scaring Mirabel.
"Eep!" She squeaked, jumping and hiding behind the door. Everyone snapped their heads towards the sound. Dolores' eyes widened slightly.
Mirabel peaked back around the corner. Casita pushed her foward, revealing the 5 year old. Unlike the rest of her family, she looked like normal. Her big glasses almost falling off of her nose, her blue and white dress ironed and pressed neatly. Her hair was a bit frazzled, but that was rather normal. Her big brown eyes stared at her family.
"Good Morning!" She smiled happily, waving in her usual upbeat manner.
In a flash, the family tackled her in a hug, Julieta and Agustín being the first.
"¡Oh, Dios mio! You're safe! You're here!" Julieta cried. Mirabel only hugged back, confused.
"But I didn't go anywhere?" Mirabel asked confused. Everyone exchanged looks, looking at Mirabel as if she was crazy.
"Mirabel...What do you mean?" Félix asked.
"I was only sleeping for a while? I left for a couple hours to play, but I came back right after. So, I was only gone a couple hours!" She explained.
Julieta reeled back, holding Mirabel at an arms length. A look of worry and fear crossed her face. "Mirabel." She gulped, glancing at Alma. "You've been gone...for 5 days. We searched the encanto up and down, but we hadn't found you."
Mirabel gasped lightly. Had she been that long? No, because Casita woke her up, she KNEW she hadn't been sleep that long. She could only scratch her head in confusion. "But I was in my room playing...A-Ask Casita! I swear, I was in the house!" She tried to explain.
Everyone just stared at her as she tried to explain the situation. That she HADN'T been gone 5 days and that she WAS in Casita.
"Mirabel. I know you weren't in Casita. I definitely would have heard you." Dolores said.
"No, ugh, look, come on." She grabbed her mamá's hand and lead her back into the house. Slowly, the family followed suit. They came up to the hallway and to the empty wall where her door was supposed to be.
"I was in there!" She pointed a small finger at the wall. "My room!"
The family looked at her as if she was insane. A couple visibly flinched.
"Mirabel...baby...I know it's hard but," Julieta went to comfort Mirabel, hugging the small child. "There's nothing there."
"Mirabel, I think you should go back to sleep for a while. You're still in shock." Luisa tried to coax her.
Mirabel only pushed her mother away, stomping her foot. "No! There IS a room there. Look!" She stepped towards the wall. Taking in a deep breath, she put her hand towards the wall. The family watched in awe as the wallpaper lit up gold, Mirabel's hand passing through the seemingly solid wall.
She smiled, retreating her hand. She swiveled back around, facing her family, a look of triumph on her face. She huffed, putting her hands on her hips and standing tall. Well, as tall as a 5 year old could anyway. "See! I told you! I can go into the pretty wallpaper and there's a room!"
No one said anything.
Then absolute chaos ensued.

What do y'all think? I actually think I had something going for a minute. Gotta go, but I'll answer some asks once I get home 😩
Gonna call this AU "Wallpaper Walker Mirabel" for now 😭😭

Just imagine Mirabel in the Scooby Doo AU tried to run from something cause she's scared for Antonio (cause let's be real this chick has no self preservation but would do anything for that boy) so she just picks him up and dashes away and everyone is left gaping at the dust trail she leaves and if magic is still a thing then everyone wonders if she somehow got superspeed without them knowing.
Yo she would be the fastest huh ☠️ My girl may not have a gift, but she has speed, like that girl can run. She is by far the fastest of the group and family, if not the whole town.
She just scoops Antonio up and speeds off, taking "Eat my dust" a little too literally. Leaves everyone behind and tells them to hurry up.

Pepa Madrigal was known for many things. Her weather, her temper, her ability to hold a grudge and her intense burning love for her family.
What she wasn't known for was for her sharp wit and her violence. While she had a temper she normally stormed and yelled, she hadn't swung a fist since she her Dolores was five and got her gift and someone made her cry by calling it creepy like her.
So she didn't normally resort to violence.
But when she saw her ten year old Sobrina Mirabel being groped and talked about as if she were a piece of meat by a man the same age as her....
When she heard the man saying she might as well give away her body since she was Giftless and therefore useless for anything other than being a slut and having babies that might be gifted...
Well her fist shot out faster than lightning and slammed into his nose. Just before her lightning struck his hand that had been touching her sweet terrified ten year old niece.
"Fucking disgusting. Don't you ever come near anyone in the family again or I will kill you." Pepa wasn't shouting. No her voice was cold and soft like the kiss of death was soft. And it was much scarier than her yelling.
She quickly bundled her traumatized niece up and went to find her sister and mother to tell them what happened.
If she didn't let Mirabel out of her sight for the next five years....well no one who knew what happened blamed her.
AS SHE SHOULD! Wish I had someone like that when I needed it; but if I was her, I would’ve done the exact same, maybe even worse. My anger issues wouldn’t allow me to just walk away with one punch, I would have been BRAWLING, like full on fist fighting. Pull a tommy out and start blasting fools. Stan Pepa for being the best aunt ever.

Ay, Madre Santa. this will end very badly for the Madrigal family except Mirabel (and maybe Bruno?) Kudos for the writing @gamerbearmira ^^
Just imagine Antonio starting to go evil while Mirabel is alive because he how everyone treats her and wants to show them the e of their ways and Mirabel is completely oblivious and clueless cause he's still an angel for her
Antonio would have been much more aggressive after her death then. He probably would have been a menace when she was not looking, especially if the Madrigals try some mess. He definitely targets Alma and Isabela the most, just ruining everything for them and generally making their life horrible.
Isabela knew that Antonio was evil. Anytime she had gone to confront Mirabel, she would find her flowers and dresses in shreds. She was just telling the giftless tan in her place, why was Antonio stopping her?!
This was another time where she found her flowers that she had put up for his ceremony torn to shreds. How? She didn’t know. She couldn’t tell if he was doing it himself, but she knew, he did it somehow.
“That little boy is evil,” Isabela sneered, watching as Mirabel picked up Antonio, who had a pout on his face.
“He isn’t evil. I don’t know what you think, but he didn’t destroy your stupid flowers. They were plain anyway,” Mirabel scoffed, hugging her híjo tightly.
“Yes he did!” Isabela snapped. Mirabel simply rolled her eyes, walking to the threshold, leaving Isabela alone. Just before they left the room, Antonio gave her a dark look, a sinister smile crossing his face. She watched him mouth three words:
Alma is next.
After getting over the fact that Antonio just called their Abuela by her first name, she made her way towards the elderly woman. She had to warn her.

New Head of the House
Antonio never thought he would come to be the new head of the Vergara family. At 5 years old no less. That was his mamás job. She was their mother, and was the founder of the home.
But due to unfortunate circumstances, Antonio had to step up to the task instead. He had thought Bruno would be more fit, since he was an adult, but his tío had insisted it be him.
Antonio was her first child, so he was the next in line.
And he would gladly take the job, only for his Mamabel.
____
Antonio stood at the door of the small, now cramped room, Parce by his side. The Madrigals stood in front of him, all shoved into the small room within his second house. Epifanio.
Antonio wasn't cruel. He would dare leave the "oh-so-precious Madrigals" alone at night. But he wasn't as generous either---instead of letting them stay in an empty house, he piled the remaining Madrigals into the small guest room.
The town wasn't willing to give up a house to them either. Sure, the Madrigals had helped them for the past 50 years, but that was all null amd void now. La Familia Madrigal had gotten their Mijabel killed. The daughter of the town, the mother to their children and the true heart of the Encanto.
Antonio, despite being shorter and younger than literally all of the Madrigals, somehow managed to look down upon them. His eyes held disgust, red and gold glinting under the light.
"You will stay here. You will not leave. Parce will be stationed outside this door, and I won't be there to stop him if you try to leave." Antonio sneered, gently petting his jaguars head.
Alma still had tears in her eyes, and was still holding that stupid candle. Or rather, what was left of it. "But why do you do this? Who are you, where is Antonio?!" Alma snapped, much to other family members surprise. She refused to believe this was Antonio.
Antonio eyes widened. How dare she talk to him that way. After all the damage she caused? After causing him and his siblings to lose their mother?!
Antonio walked up to the elderly woman, snatching the dirty wax ball out of her hand. Alma attempted to take it back, but Parce (along with Julieta and Isabela) stopped her.
They boy carefully examined the ball, snorting at the state of it. He tossed it to the ground, to which Alma fumbled, but dropped down to catch it. She looked up and saw that she was eye level with Antonio.
"I was the first. I have seen everything." He dropped his small voice low, and for some reason, it was so menacing. "I have seen her. The one you should not have killed."
"But...why did you do that to the candle?" Dolores askes gently.
"The others...my siblings, who I love with all my heart...They are under my protection. And they are like animals. But I am very aware." Antonio smirked, giggling in a way that made him seem innocent. "And seeing you powerless is like music to me."
"You...you aren't Antonio. You aren't the one I raised." Pepa said quietly.
"Because you didn't raise me, Señora Pepa." Antonio frowned deeply as he made his way back to the door, where Bruno and his youngest sister Adella were now waiting.
"Antonio. Bedtime. Your siblings miss you." Bruno said, completely ignoring his former family. Antonio smiled and nodded, letting Bruno pick him up.
Taking one last look at the Madrigals, he gently stroked his sleeping sisters face. He didn't want to make a bad impression on her, even in her sleep.
Antonio's eyes seemed to glow an ominous red, as he glowered at the Madrigals. "I don't hate you. But you need to stay out of my way." His voice seemed to echo, like it wasn't just him talking, but several children talking.
With that, the lights in the room went out, the door closed, and the Madrigals were left in the dark room, their fear of Antonio growing.

This is so beautiful! Kudos to Bruno for raising Mirabel and Antonio 💚💚💚
What about an AU where Mirabel and Antonio are adopted by Bruno, and they consider him as their Dad since he never left the family? I would see it as the Green Family AU.
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR SOMEONE TO ASK ME THIS. I ALREADY HAVE IT WRITTEN DOWN I JUST NEED THE RIGHT MOMENT.
Tumblr media
LETS GET IT STARTED
After Mirabel's ceremony, Alma puts more work on the family, to prove that the magic is OK. Julieta and Agustin drop the ball with Mirabel and she's left alone. But Bruno won't let that happen. He wouldn't run away. He broke the vision and with the help of Casita, buried it under tiles, within the foundation of Casita, never to be revealed again.
Now was his start of raising his sobrina.
--
Bruno knew what it was like to be an outcast. And he'd be darned if he'd let his niece experience it.
He was experienced in child care—he knew all about it, seeing as he's been caring for his sisters' children for so long.
He helps Mirabel with everything. He'd take her out, make sure she ate all her food, helped her pick out her clothes when she couldn't decide, and he helped her with everything.
Once when Mirabel was 7 they were at dinner, Mirabel had finished early, and decided to go to bed early. (She hated how her family showed off their Gifts, it made her feel left out…). She had left early and went to get ready for bed, Bruno giving her a couple candies before she left since she had eaten all her food.
She did her usual, and then she asked Bruno to tuck her in. He kisses her goodnight and Mirabel lets out a quiet: "Buenos noches Papá,"
And that just breaks Bruno's heart. But he can't go back now. By the time she's 8, she's full time calling him papá, only calling him tío in front of the family. She had even picked up on his bad luck and good luck habits, knocking on wood before entering a room and throwing salt over her shoulder to prevent bad luck.
Mirabel also took to wearing a green skirt in exchange for her blue one (Not that anyone other than Bruno and Casita noticed.) Bruno was so happy and knew that he was much too far into it now.
This continues for years. Just the two of them, the green beans. And then Antonio's born.
Much like the others, Bruno is saddled with caring for him while the others work, since his gift isn't in high demand. But he doesn't mind. He's got Mirabel, his hija, and Casita, his best friend. He doesn't need anyone else.
Antonio grows to love Antonio. Much like Mirabel, Antonio grows close to him.
Bruno cares for Antonio much more often than he ever intended. He has him basically 20/7, maybe even more than that. Antonio will take naps with him, Bruno feeds him, they play together (along with Mirabel).
Just before Antonio turned one, he finally said the one word that broke Bruno. “Papa”.
Mirabel is ecstatic because now, she could have a brother! She begged Bruno for weeks, and finally, he agreed to be Antonio’s father, as well as hers.
Like Mirabel, Vruno tells Antonio that he is not his biological father, but he is more than welcome to call him papa. Antonio agrees; he only calls Bruno “tio” whenever he’s with other family members.
So, now it’s the 3 of them.
Come Antonio’s ceremony, Bruno explains that Gift or no Gift, he will still love him, just like Mirabel.
So he gets his gift, party, but key difference; Antonio is much more uncomfortable wih Pepa, Felix, Dolores and Camilo. In the past they had always been too busy to spend time with him and now that he has a gift, all of the sudden they have all the time in the world?
That's when the family starts to notice things.
They notice how close Antonio is to Bruno, how he wears green and not a lick of yellow, how he always seemed to have a rat with him.
Then they notice Mirabel. She wears a green skirt, how if she's not with Antonio, she's with Bruno, how she calls Antonio "Hermanito" instead of "Primo" that she also has a rat with her.
It all comes down to one dinner when Antonio accidentally lets a "papa" slip.
It was an accident, but that was all it took. Immediately, the adults (Mainly Alma, Julieta and Pepa) bombard the man with questions, asking when it started and why he let it happen.
Both Mirabel and Antonio hide behind Bruno, and Bruno just explodes.
He goes off on them all, asking where they were when Mirabel was left alone. Where Julieta and Agustín were when she sat in the nursery crying her eyes out. Where Pepa and Felíx were when Antonio took his first steps or said his first words.
He even asked Alma why she still hadn't given Mirabel her own room. Because she was 15, and even if she didn't have a gift, she should still have her own space.
He continues going on a rant, only being stopped when Mirabel and Antonio beg him too, and Casita pulling him out of the room as he glared at the family.
They leave the room to go to Bruno's room. The family is left in silence as they look at the obvious signs from over the years.
Bruno had took in both of them, and no one had noticed until it was far too late.

WOOOOOOO YEAH BABY

Mamalores: Mirabel exposing everyone except for her Mamá, Bruno, Agustín, Julieta, Félix and Antonio since they didn't make her mad.
"You know my prima Isabela doesn't like you like that Mariano so throw that flower away."
"Wha- What you mean, I- wait." Mariano stutter in disbelief, feeling a little hurt.
Little Mirabel sigh before turning to face him. "she doesn't want five kids, she hates your poetry because she said it sucks, she thinks your singing is bad, that's not her favorite flower, you both don't know each other well and lastly she said she doesn't want to marry you." With that she left him feeling hurt and dumbstruck.
Mirabel found her next target, Luisa crush, Marco Hernandez the town Baker.
"Good Evening Marco." She said to him as she sat on the stool inside the bakery, there weren't many people since the sun going down.
"Ah the little princess of mama bear came to visit my humble bakery, what would you like little princess, the same one or a different one." Marco said taking his notebook out, waiting for her to order.
Mirabel shook her head making him putting his note book back. "I know I'm not supposed to tell you this but I overheard Luisa telling Isabela that she has a major crush on you, Luisa thinks your are handsome and wish to marry you one day."
Marco blush, he to has a crush on Luisa. "Really that's nice, what else you know."
"I know she daydreams about you, she also draws you in her notebooks and writes about you. Luisa is madly in love with you but she's afraid that you'll reject her love for you."
"Well then little princess I got a secret to tell you, promise to keep a secret." Mirabel nodded her head making him smile.
Marco pretend to think for a moment. "I was planning asking her out tomorrow and I want ask you if it's ok that I can date your cousin Luisa."
Mirabel doing the same thing what Marco had done. "That's perfect because tomorrow is her birthday, don't worry I'll write down everything she likes and dislikes."
Mirabel again went to find her next target after writing down the things her cousin likes and dislikes for Marco After looking around she found a perfect target, Ana Muñoz and Maria Lopez, both of them are Camilo girlfriends, sadly one being cheated on.
She ran up to the best friends that were talking, they both stop talking and look at Mirabel.
"I have to be quick but I want you to know what my uncle Camilo had done behind your back Ana."
"What you mean little one?" Ana said, Maria feeling concerned.
Mirabel twisted her little feet then took Ana hands into hers. "My Uncle Camilo cheated on you with Maria, that's why he came up with different excuses and that's why he send me to give you a bouquet of flowers to you Ana, that goes same to you Maria."
"What!" Both girls exclaims.
"I thought it was about you going out of town for three weeks with Cami but turns out that was Maria going out of town, I wanted to say something but I didn't think it was a big deal."
"Omg that nasty boy, he cheated on me with my own best friend."
"I can't believe him, I'm sorry I didn't know he was dating you, he told me I was single."
"I'm not mad at you because you didn't know but I'm mad him and I wanted to slap him but maybe tomorrow since it's getting late."
Both girls thank Mirabel and gave her some candy. The little child later found her another target Sofia Rodriguez, the town gossip and a friend of her hers, too bad it's gonna be her ex- bestfriend.
"Oh hi sweet child, what brings you here to my vase shop, did your Abuela Pepa likes the free gift I gave her." Sofia ask Mirabel when she saw her enter the shop.
"No, my Abuela Pepa didn't like it. Mirabel abruptly answer the lady question.
"What you mean she didn't like it." Sofia whisper, feeling pain of betrayal.
Mirabel gave the lady a hug after seeing her tears falling. "All the free vases you gave her had broken, she never like it because she said it's ugly and you gave her only the ones she didn't like."
"I wish that she gave it back and could told me that she don't like it or want none." Sofia said, trying to hold her tears in.
Mirabel shook her head and patted her head as a mother would do.
"She also said the reason why you got less customers because your vases are unattractive colores, ... don't worry about my Abuela Pepa, she loves expensive things so she's a gold digger, she just got a bad taste but I think it's beautiful, I don't see anything ugly."
Sofia hug the little girl thanking her for saying something, Mirabel returned home with bags of sweets and fresh breads from Marco, lots of candy from Ana and Maria, and lastly a small pretty expensive vase with red and gold colors. By the time she reached home, she was greeted by Dolores.
"Te Amo Mamá, I had fun."
Dolores took the items from her daughter's arms and send her off to bathroom, she wait for her to close the bathroom room before going to the kitchen.
"That's my little girl." Dolores whispers to herself, smiling as she cutting up onions.
Rule you must remember, never make Mirabel mad because she can be like Dolores.
Sorry that was long.
DOLORES RAISED A MENANCEEEEEEEE
Imagine minding your own business and Mirabel appears next to you she’s just like:
“I have something to tell you…”

Okay now I absolutely want to see more of Neverland AU. Like the family finding out Mirabel is gone and maybe Mirabel meeting her Too and the Neverland kids.
Hello hello!
I am happy to provide! First I'll start with the Madrigal's realizing she's gone, and then we'll get to Mirabel meeting Bruno :)
-----
New Home
-----
Mirabel and Antonio flew through the sky and past the cloud, outside of the mountains of the Encanto. She looked back on more time and gave a final goodbye, before following Antonio.
She was amazed at the sight. The stars looked so much prettier up close.
"So...where do you guys...live? Like...do you live in a house?" Mirabel asked, adjusted her bag to a more comfortable position as she and Antonio flew through the clouds.
Antonio thought for a moment before shrugging. "I guess you could call it a house! We used to live in a really big cave and all that---but then Bruno came along and helped us build a tree house! Over time we built on it and now we all have out own rooms and one big house that's like a meeting room," he explained, using his hands to better describe the tree house system.
"Where will I be sleeping?" Mirabel tilted her head.
"Oh, we actually already got you a room! It's got a cot, some blankets and pillows we made, and window; it's super cool! They should be building the bridge to it now, so when we get there, it should be ready," Antonio smiled widely. "Oh! It's kinda plain now, but you get to decorate it and your door! We all drew ourselves on our door because Bruno did too, so we all match!"
Mirabel beamed at the thought. Finally, her own room, and door! She slapped her cheek, making sure this all wasn't a dream. She could fly, she's got a room and door, and she gets to take care of the kids!
As the two talked a bit more, mainly discussing the plans for her room, Neverland came into view. Mirabel gasped as they swooped down and into the deep forest. Mirabel had to carefully evade the branches and tree trunks, almost hitting a few more than once. Antonio landed, Mirabel following close behind, a bit roughly.
"We're here! Welcome to Neverland Mirabel, where us kids never grow old!" he walked towards a giant tree, where a makeshift ladder was placed. Antonio began to climb, with Mirabel close behind, bag of belongings slung over her shoulder.
The two emerged into what the girl assumed was the meeting room. All around the room were jars of fireflies and crude candles resting on pieces of slightly charred wood. There were many hammocks among the room, a few pillows (which were sacks filled with feathers, leaves and whatever other soft material) littering the room. Many drawings were hung up, with children's toys among them as well. Many baskets of fruit and even some vegatables rested in the corner, with what looked like a clumsy attempt at bread.
"We're here!" Antonio called out. Of the 4 doors lining a wall of the room, 3 of them swung open, boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 12 bursting in. They all immediately took to Mirabel, hugging her and greeting her, one of them offering her a mango.
"Are you our new mommy?" One of them asked. Mirabel was surprised but ultimately nodded as she hugged the kinder. As Mirabel laughed and greeted them some more, Antonio left momentarily through the 4th door, coming back after a few minutes. "Right here!"
Mirabel looked up and saw a boy, her age, standing in front of her. His clothes were slightly frayed, but that was the same for all the kids. The one thing that stood out to her was his ruana; the green was so familiar and the hourglasses were so familiar to her as well...
"Tio...Bruno?" Mirabel asked quietly. Bruno flinched at the title. Has it really been that long? So long that her sisters already had kids? Whatever---he didn't care. He finally had a family member---sibling even.
"Um...Well then---Hola Mirabel! Welcome to Neverland. I'm not your tio---I'm your hermano mayor now!" Bruno said, arms wide. Mirabel teared up, running and happily returning the hug. It was the first hug she had gotten from her only family in a while. Antonio and the other kids joined in, Bruno holding Mirabel in his arms as she quietly cried.
"I'm...I..." Mirabel tried to get words to come out of her mouth, to express her happiness, but she just couldn't.
"It's ok..." Bruno rubbed her back, and when she pulled back,he held her hands on his own. "I'm here. We're here. We're a familia after all! We only want you to be happy here in Neverland. And I think that we should start by helping you move into your new room. Come on!"
Bruno yank Mirabel's arm, guiding her out on the door and onto a bridge. She gawked at the tree, how there were many small room sized houses mades of vines, leaves, branches and more. There were a few more treese connected, holding more little rooms, on various levels. The whole tree was lit up by candles and fireflies, much like the meeting room. After a minute of running, they came up to what was her new room.
A kid came up to the front with a makeshift door knob. The door didn't have a mechanism to open, but it still had a hole where the knob would go, where she could partially see the room. "This is for you!" the small child said, handing Mirabel the doorknob. She looked at it, the letter 'M' etched into it carefully.
"It's a tradition that every new kid puts their door knob in!" Antonio smiled, clapping his hands.
"It signifies that they're a part of the Neverland family. We etch the first letter of out names and then we have the kid put it in," bruno explained.
"And then we have a welcome party!" Antonio cheered, other kids following behind. Mirabel turned and smiled at her new family. The kids were all on different bridges, many above them smiling down as they waited for Mirabel to put the knob in.
"It's your time," Bruno guided her to the door, letting her stand in front of it. "We'll be right here with you too.
Mirabel took a deep breath, and stepped forward. She carefully lined the doorknob up, and pushed it in. All the kids began cheering before everyone stopped and gazed in awe at the scene that unfolded in front of them.
From her hand, magic burst and spread from her door to the entire tree and those connected to it. The kids, Bruno and Mirabel watched as their entire tree home was lit with magic. As the rooms were engulfed with magic, many went to their rooms to see what happened.
"Look! A new pillow and blanket!" One of them yelled, holding up the items. Many more came out with new items, mostly bedroom items.
As Mirabel took in the situation, a branch with vines lifted Mirabel up, tossing her into the air as she laughed, many of the other kids and Bruno being joined. "C-Casita?" Mirabel smiled, being placed down. The bridge (which had be renewed and was much more stable) rock lightly, indicating Mirabel was correct.
"Yay! Mirabel's here!" the kids cheered, throwing down flower petals and colorful leaves, with some of the other releasing fireflies from their hands. A couple of the older kids sat on a small platform, and began playing music on their impromptu instruments.
"Come on!" Antonio beamed, dragging her on a larger platform where other kids were dancing. Bruno was their dancing in a circle with the other kids, Mirabel and Antonio joining.
She was happy. Really happy all of her worries had gone away, and she was with her family. And they loved her, just as she would love them. She had Casita too, now in their tree home. She had a room. A door. A home.
------
Julieta stepped out of her room, ready to make breakfast. She found it strange how Mirabel wasn't there to knock on her door, but she brushed it off. As she passed her mama's door, she froze.
Her mama's door. It wasn't glowing. Julieta whipped her head around, staring at the door. Turning around, she noticed all the doors weren't glowing. They were dark.
"C-Casita?" She looked at the tiles. No response. "Casita? Casita?!" He yelling got more frantic, attraching the attention of the other members. All of them rushed out their rooms, many still in their bed clothes.
"Julieta, what's wrong?" Agustin asked, holding her as she fell foward.
"The...the doors...Casita..." she stuttered. The other family members looked towards the doors and saw they weren't glowing.
"My flowers are all dead," Isabela mumbled, looking at the wilted flowers and vines that surrounded her door.
"Casita, what is the meaning of this?" Alma demanded. The house did not respond. "Casita!"
"I've already tried...Casita won't respond..." Julieta said.
"The candle," Luisa pointed to the candle. Everyone backed up and gawked at the candle. It was melting. Like a regular candle. There was no pattern on it either, it was just a candle.
"Hey...there's no cloud," Pepa said, worry washing over her face. Everyone looked and saw that there was indeed no cloud, despite her obvious distress.
"Wait, where's Mirabel?" Julieta stood up, running towards the nursery. Everyone followed behind, watching Julieta enter the room. A note rested upon the pillow, Julieta picking it up and reading it a loud.
"'Familia,
I'm sorry. I've left Casita. I know that you may or may not miss me, but I'll be ok. I've gone away, so I won't hurt the family or the magic. I love you all, adios.'" Julieta trailed off, falling to the floor as she sobbed.
"She...left?" Luisa whispered.
"Where could she have gone, the encanto mountains are much too tall!" Felix asked.
"The real question is when did she leave? I haven't seen her all week..." Dolores squeaked. As a matter of fact, she hadn't really even heard her all week.
"The magic...it's gone. Casita must have gone as well..." Camilo frowned. "Do you guys think...the magic left with Mirabel?"
The family all looked at him. That was the only logical answer. When Mirabel left...the magic and more than likely Casita left with her.
"What are we going to do?" Julieta and the family looked towards Alma, who looked just as confused and distressed as them.
"I...I don't know." Alma breathed.

Part 4 of Half Dead Mirabel AU
•Alas, the day that Mirabel dreaded the most: Antonio’s gift ceremony.
• Don’t get her wrong, she loves her cousin very much and hopes that he actually does get a gift.
• However, that would mean that he’ll leave her once he gets a gift. However, she won’t let Alma’s influence get the best of him. Not again…
• As everyone was preparing for the gift ceremony, the children were very ecstatic to see Mirabel.
• You see, they see Mirabel as a guardian of something because she’s always there for them. (Even more than most parents)
• Mirabel walks up to see Juancho, the coffee kid, Cecilia, the kind one, and Alejandra, the rambunctious one.
• Mirabel smiles at them before seeing Isabela there, showing off as usual.
• ‘Must be boring see that…’ She thought before turning away. Unfortunately, that backfired as the trio saw her and waved.
• “HI, MIRABEL!” They exclaimed, quickly shoving Isabela out of the way.
• Mirabel smirks before being pulled by the children as she sees Isabela’s face. ‘Priceless!!!’
• As Mirabel was laughing from the inside, she kept her cool with the children before they started to ask about Antonio.
• “Do you know what gift Antonio will get?” Alejandra asks. “I bet it’ll be something cool!” Cecilia exclaims with joy and excitement. “It has to be!” Juancho agrees.
• “Well, we’ll find out, alright?” Mirabel said, not interested in the conversation.
• “I wish you had a gift…” They whispered sadly.
• Mirabel, although, didn’t feel the need to be pitied, she did feel a little bad for keeping her powers a secret.
• “You know, I’ll still be with you, always, okay?” She said, assuring them that nothing bad will happen. Yet.
• They hurried inside as the celebration would soon start.
• Mirabel, fully knowing that Antonio was hiding, went up to her room She had long given up calling it the nursery and sat underneath the bed.
• “Happy birthday, Tigercito. Excited for the big day?” Mirabel motherly asks.
• “Not really. I don’t want to lose you just like the familia did,” Antonio whispers. Mirabel had a feeling that this would happen, but she won’t let that pass her.
• “Well, one day, when you’re all grown up, you won’t need me as much,” She comments.
• “I think I’ll always need you…” Antonio says, sliding off and extending her arm.
• Mirabel takes it, and they all headed to meet with Antonio’s family.
• “My nino! All grow up!” Pepa exclaims as Felix issues about her cloud.
• Mirabel ignores them before hearing Dolores that it was time.
• As Mirabel was about to leave, Antonio grabs her hand and squeezes it.
• “I need you,” He whispers, scared to do this alone.
• Mirabel sighs and nods, letting him lead the way.
• Everyone gasped while some were annoyed, but Mirabel ignores it for Antonio even the pain in her heart
• Once they make it to the top, she lets go of his hand, standing on the side.
• As Alma does the usual speech, she couldn’t help but feel that something was wrong And she was more correct than ever
• She hadn’t checked with Bruno, but maybe it was time to face him.
• To tell him that he shouldn’t hide anymore and to face the family for everything they had done to him. (And maybe tell her secret)
• However, it takes time and patience for this to go, and Mirabel doesn’t have any.
• The only patience she has is with Antonio, Bruno, and Casita herself since she’s the only one who knows her secret.
• After Alma’s speech was done, Antonio touches the door which magically glowed the candle more.
• Once his door was presented, a toucan appeared, and Antonio appeared to understand them.
• “Uh-huh, I can understand you! You can all come!” He exclaims before looking at Mirabel with the biggest grin on his face.
• ‘Thank you, Lord,’ Mirabel thought, tearfully smiling at Antonio.
• As Alma and everyone else exclaims with joy, Mirabel was shoved in by Antonio.
• However, the moment was ruined as Alma wanted to take a picture of the perfect family.
• Antonio tries to grab Mirabel, but she shakes her head, getting him to feel sorry for her.
• Once the picture was taken, though, Antonio rushes up to Mirabel and hugs her.
• “I’m sorry,” He says, which broke Mirabel’s heart.
• “It’s okay. I’m used to it…” ‘Even if it still hurts…’
• As the two hugged, a problem soon aroused, in speaking of, a ghost-related problem…
So sorry it took so long. Lack of motivation really. However, I’m rather pleased with it and hopefully, I won’t procrastinate as much anymore...

For the Half Dead Mirabel au will Dolores confess to the rest of the Madrigal family that she heard Mirabel screaming in agony?
How will the whole family feel knowing that they could have prevented her from becoming a Hafla?
Again, that may be a huge spoiler depending on if she actually heard it.
However, even she does reveal it, it would bring more problems to Mirabel than ever before

For the Half Dead Mirabel au, when will the ghosts from the Ghost Zone start to cause havoc in Encanto thus forcing Mirabel to use her powers to protect all of Encanto, the thing is she's not doing it for the town either she's doing it for her Tio Bruno, Antonio and the children?
How will the rest of the adults think of this ghost that is protecting them, and the teenage population are they going to support Mirabels alter ego (not knowing that it's her) or be closed minded?
I’m thinking of some that could come since the Ghost Zone has portals to other realms. Maybe Ember, Amorpho, or others.
Yes, definitely Mirabel will do it for Bruno, Antonio, and the children.
The adults' reactions will come later on as well as the teenage population although I would say 50/50 based on what they see.

Half Dead Mirabel is so amazing. Maybe we can see Antonio get ghost powers and Bruno? Than they could go to the ghost zone
I’m staying focused on Mirabel for now. That’s an idea of an alternate AU I could do in the future. Maybe call them the Ghost Trio AU. Maybe I’ll work on a story on it. Maybe...

Hello! I’m a big fan of your work, especially the half-dead Mirabel AU. Will the Madrigals ever discover Mirabel’s powers? Also will she really intend to punish the entire town?
Thank you so much for liking my work!!
For the first question, yes but that’ll come much, much later. For the second, she takes everything to heart and will (and potentially) scam anyone who messes with her love ones.

Warm Couple vs Cool Couple: The Mirabel Years
* They all were happy Bruno was back
* And they enjoy the time spend with him
* However with such a quickness Bruno became Mirabel’s favorite adult
* It did not work for them
* Pepa and Felix did not want their 3rd child to leave them alone
* Julieta and Agustin could not lose their youngest to Bruno
* It didn’t help that when everyone came outside for breakfast everyone stare at Mirabel
* Bruno cough up his cafe when he saw her
* Mirabel was wearing a white shirt with black embroidery and a green skirt
* Not blue, not yellow
* Green
* Mirabel then explain, she has worn the other family colors but Tio Bruno needs his colors worn too
* “Mira! Your suppose to be mi hija” Pepa exclaim
* “Stop trying to take mi hija away from me” Julieta said before Mirabel answer
* Agustin look at Bruno and with a slight joking tone told him
* “This is war Brunito”
* Bruno respond with a bring it on smirk “I’m older than you”
* “Well it’s not just me” Mirabel said
* The rest of the parents look at their kids. Isabela and Luisa was in their respective colors and so were Camilo and Dolores
* “Tio Bruno” Antonio yelled
* He ran towards the family and the shock and gasp that came out of Pepa and Felix would be funny if their faces didn’t show betrayal
* Antonio was wearing a green shirt and brown pants. That green shirt was the same color as Mirabel’s skirt, as Bruno’s ruana
* “Tio me and Mirabel will dress like you” Antonio said as he went to Mirabel and hug her leg
* “I.. thank you” Bruno said as he look at the two with joy
* Those two were the first to welcome him back to the family
* They saw him for who he was and not as Bad Luck Bruno
* Bruno felt something shift in the air and he didn’t know what it was but he didn’t like it
* It was the parents, obviously jealous
* Pepa did not like she was about to lose two of her kids to Bruno and she was willing to fight
* Agustin was making sure he is still number one in his Miraboo’s heart and as the favorite tio to Antonio
* Felix just got his Mirabel to wear yellow and now Bruno comes in and steal her from him, he even got Antonio on his side
* Julieta love that her hija love her tio so much
* But she didn’t want to lose her to him
* This means war
And soon the town watch as chaos happens in the Madrigal family, all because of the color green. It didn’t help that some of the townspeople were in on it too

Warm/Cool Couples vs Netural Green
* It was as if the universe has shifted
* Mirabel and Antonio wearing green was a shock through the heart for their dear old dads
* Agustin was mumbling how he was losing his baby
* Felix was plotting ways to get rid of that shirt Antonio was wearing
* It was as if Julieta lost a piece of her
* She was being dramatic, she knew but so was Pepa
* Pepa was talking about how she lost both babies (Mirabel is NOT your daughter)
* It was fine the first few days
* The couples could accept it
* It change when Mirabel came down with a new green skirt, but this one fill with her embroidery
* That was the last strike
* Julieta ask Bruno to give back her daughter
* Bruno was oddly smug and confident, he said no, that’s his daughter and he knew her since she was born
* Calmly Julieta responded with she got the marks to prove that was her baby
* Pepa thought it was funny until she saw the new green shirt and vest combo Antonio was wearing
* A green long sleeve shirt with a vest that had little embroidery on the bottom curtesy of Mirabel
* Pepa gave Bruno a glare
* One he did not see since he look so happy and his eyes were wet
* It didn’t help that Alma their mother
* Ask Bruno if she could borrow HIS children
* Alma never said anything, but still there was the mischief loving person who was known to cause chaos
* Pepa tried to bribe Antonio with all the kisses possible but in the end he still went toward the men
* Antonio had his hand raise to be pick up
* Felix automatically open his arms hit to his shock (and horror)
* Antonio went towards Bruno
* Bruno who while surprised didn’t show it and pick up Antonio hugging him
* Felix face shift, his eyes lower and a small pout appear; he couldn’t control the jealously that appear
* Bruno gave both Pepa and Felix a smug look as he too looks Antonio with him to play with his rats
* Felix went to Antonio’s room to get rid of one of his shirts, only to turn up the next day in a short sleeve green shirt
* Mirabel step up her game and put on an all green dress, with ruffles at the end and little rats embroider at the bottom
* Senor Oslavdo started it, and then the townspeople joining in on this when he went to Julieta and Pepa searching for Mirabel
* “Hola Senoras, have you seen Bruno’s daughter?”
* Neither Pepa nor Julieta knew what he was talking about and for a second thought Bruno had a secret child
* Oslavdo tried not to smile as he kept his face as netural as possible “yeah his hija, Mirabel”
* If it was possible the sisters faces were the funniest thing for anybody who saw it
* Julieta made a silent gasp as she put her hand near her chest and her face look as if she seen a ghost
* Pepa gasp loudly as if she was struck by lighting and saw something she never wanted to see
* “Juli, we’re losing them” Pepa said as if she was ready to cry
* Julieta couldn’t believe it, the town not only said her baby wasn’t hers but they had all agree for Bruno to be her parent
* Bruno took this with stride
* “Mija can you help me with this? Mijo do you want to play with my rats?”
* Bruno couldn’t help the smug feeling when both Mirabel and Antonio answer when call
* It went to family dates and sleepovers to picnics
* It wasn’t just the adults jealous, but the kids
* Isabela and Luisa more so. They finally had time to spend with their hermanita, but she was barely there
* While Dolores and Camilo are older than Antonio, it didn’t mean they did not want to spend time with him, but Antonio told them all about what the trio did that day
* They heard him praise Mirabel before and they knew not to get jealous. They tried
* But it didn’t work, hearing it more brought some of that jealousy back up
* It was as if Antonio love Mirabel more
* They knew it was not it, with Mirabel not having a gift, she was Antonio’s primary caretaker of course, he would be super fond of her
* Then their was also Luisa and Isabela, both felt jealous because now, NOW they had time to finally spend time together as an family and Mirabel was not there
* They felt jealous with Antonio who seemed to know Mirabel better than even their Mama
* And now Tio Bruno, come back and he already is putting a spot for himself between the two youngest
* Alma thought it was hilarious, how her two daughters’ families were jealous
* She did see it from an outside perspective
* When the three of them are together it seem as if there was a bubble, one that surrounded them
* It almost glow, they look like a happy family, that joy radiates and other would want to join them.
* Alma decide not to say anything but watch, she is happy they are all here, and that is enough
* It didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy what was going on (honestly I truly think she is mischievous at heart)
* Antonio and Mirabel found their siblings and ask them if they could all sleep together before Casita is finish.
* They agree but wanted to know why they both were smiling a lot.
* In the morning at breakfast Pepa scream loudly “BRUNO”
I will make one last post as the conclusion of the ‘Mirabel Years’and ‘Warm vs Cool’, look forward to it!
