Gonna say this as someone who has been critical of Game Freak both as a fan and as someone with a Pokémon SPIN for a while now:
Do not support Palworld.
The CEO of Pocket Pair, the game’s studio, openly supports AI and even made a game where making AI-generated art is its main mechanic.
Palworld is not Pocket Pair’s first instance of plagiarism, either. Their previous game, Craftopia, plagiarizes Breath of the Wild, whereas as its upcoming game, Never Grave: The Witch and The Curse, plagiarizes from independent developer Team Cherry’s game, Hollow Knight.
On top of stolen character models and concepts from fakemon artists, it’s already known that you can put Pals through what is basically slave labor BUT what’s been recently discovered is that the game allows you to capture and sell humans. This has been raising some red flags for black gamers looking into these mechanics, me included, considering this factors into the established slave labor system of Palworld.
TL;DR: I completely understand being tired of Game Freak and the Pokémon Company’s lack of polish over the years, but supporting something that is just as devoid of polish is not the way to make those criticisms clearer. This will only encourage more soullessness in the industry.
I implore you to support other creature collectors with some real passion behind them; I will reblog this post with recommendations shortly!
big issue with linear time is that when there are a few minutes until some event and they aren't enough minutes to do anything with, you just lose those minutes. I think you should be able to save them for later and then combine them into a chunk of leftover time that you get to use at the end of the day, like bonus hours.
I’m sorry friends, but “just google it” is no longer viable advice. What are we even telling people to do anymore, go try to google useful info and the first three pages are just ads for products that might be the exact opposite of what the person is trying to find but The Algorithm thinks the words are related enough? And if it’s not ads it’s just sponsored websites filled with listicles, just pages and pages of “TOP FIFTEEN [thing you googled] IMAGINED AS DISNEY PRINCESSES” like… what are we even doing anymore, google? I can no longer use you as shorthand for people doing real and actual helpful research on their own.
It's much too hot to not draw Punz enjoying the beach. At least one of us is having an good time this summer.
I used her skirt from the series island outfit as inspiration for her overshirt. And I'm kind of amused at how much detail I put into her shorts, considering I knew they were going to be half-hidden behind see-through fabric.
Brunette, blonde, and modern au blonde. (As if this isn't a modern au outfit, anyway.)
After *checks watch* a week of reworking Jump!’s design, I finally came up with this. Her original design was too plain to me, so I decided to switch the capelet for a high collar. Then I made it furry. Then I gave her legwarmer deals. (At this point, pre-coloring, she looked like she was out to audition for Cats, so of course I imagined someone snarking that at her, and her snapping back with, “Look, we’re all in tights. Who are you to judge?”) But I loved the new silhouette. Then I got the idea to give her the dark eyes instead of typical Spidey white ones.
Then, I started laying down the base colors and literally said, “Oh no, she looks like an alien.” At this point, I added the webbing on her face and sides, as well as the stripe down the side of her arm. She also had a spot for color on top of her head. But I started getting nervous of her looking overworked. Then, I traded the spot of the shock of hair outside her mask, and that basically fixed everything.
Jump!’s abilities are that she can jump much higher than a typical Spidey. She also has a (still undeveloped) light/dazzle move that’s primarily used to distract or blind her enemies. She’s a short queen. The dark eyes on the suit are special lenses that allow her to flip through different spectrums and wavelengths of light, as well as acting as a recording device and still camera when need be.
