I live in a world where this is a thing that just Happens.
youtube
even in Nightwing: New Order - a series where Dick is supposed to be on the wrong, DC still finds a way to make the root of all evil stems from Clark. It’s always Superman’s fault. If he doesn’t turn evil he is the cause of evil. It’s a same thing DC has been telling people for years. Over and Over again. Injustice isn’t enough, now New Order must be there to put all the blame on Clark as well.
your message is clear, DC. you hate Superman. no need to rub in us Superman fans’ face all the damn time like that. I’m tired.

Some thoughts on Superman’s Rogues Gallery
So I’ve been having thoughts on how to redefine more of Superman’s Rogues Gallery, and put down (hopefully) that old meme of Superman having no good villains. First up was a S:TAS Originated character: Volcana.
Volcana: Claire Selton's story began where all miserable stories begin: With her placed in a plastic bag in front of an orphanage on a cold, rainy night. Sickly and pale, hers was not a good condition. The place took her in, and over years she grew. However there was something noticed very quickly about her, as she began to leave childhood. Around her, fire seemed to flare brighter, burn hotter. Nothing obvious, but it was clear that something...strange was about her. It was thus here that she was finally adopted by the Selton family. Rich and wealthy, they noticed their new daughter first for her powers, and it showed. She was a lonely child, and they were a cold people. Eventually, though, they noticed something: Her powers were growing stronger. Eventually, they grew too strong for her to control without some damage-- fire-extinguishers and burn medicines became a necessity in the Selton household. Seeing the danger, her parents-- both wealthy-- pulled strings and contacted the Center of Paranormal Studies even as a certain mild-mannered reporter was earning his Journalism degree in Metropolis. She made the friend that would change her life forever: Kristine Kaspar. Having monstrous strength, the two struck up a quick rapport; all seemed well. Though her teachers were cold and made her go by her code-name, Volcana, in class they were teaching her well. Then, in a fit of cosmic tragedy her parents were slain. And the whole world just watched. The next day, she still came into her classes. Her teachers planned a livefire demonstration, where Kristine and Volcana were to destroy a robot, recently escaped from Lex-Corp. And just as they were about to enter combat... her powers failed, blocked . The robot advanced on her, and Karl watched as it did. Her teachers simply listened to her screams. And she realized-- all they cared for, was Volcana. Not Claire. In a rush of anger, and hate, and fear, she evaporated a hundred yards. Karl, the robot, her teachers... all of it. Ash. Walking away, in a daze of emotions, she wandered back to the house she had once called home. She ruined it. Lethargic, she only really survived, not truly living. She had nothing, and believed in less. Wandering from place to place she took what she wanted, caring little for who she hurt. Eventually, though she stumbled on someone very important: her mother. This might have ended happily. It did not. There had been a little hope in Volcana's chest that out of all the world someone else might have cared solely for her. Might simply have been incapable of raising her, for one reason or another. It was dashed on the rocks. Her mother had been fully wealthy then. Only unwilling. Worse, she, too, had not cared to speak to her daughter until she found that said daughter had powers...powers that could earn her money from a show she was running on in the city. It was lucky for her mother that a blue blur carried her away just before she could be struck down. On the plus side, Volcana at least cared about something: killing her mother and the remaining members of the Center.

The difference between LG revolution and CG rebellion is that when Lawful Good’s done burning the system down, it also rolls up its sleeves and sets to work making a new system as opposed to letting shit fester in natural anarchy.

Bioware: Okay so we’re gonna make one of our classes Luke or Anakin, the Hero and protagonist, for that classic Star Wars experience, but you know, it can be anyone- guy, girl, human, alien, what ever
Actual No Shit People Playing a Fuckmothering Star Wars Game: Ew why would we want to do that?

Ah yes, obviously what the players and readers want is more fellatio for the Imperials.
If you’ll excuse, I’ll just be sitting here shining my grail replica

None of that, ‘Oh well if you’re truly sorry, there’s nothing I can do,’ horseshit. No, he coup-de-graces your ass because he’s a god-damn Paladin. His job is killing evil. You know what his job doesn’t entail? Being a sympathetic ear for every whiny NE or CN or LE douchebag who’s only being evil because the world is unfair to him or every punk that lets his own dislikes or laziness overcome his own personality. You know what unfair is? Being able to know what kind of person everyone is before you even talk to them. Smelling evil so potent on a motherfucker that you want to sink your fingers in his chest and pull that tar out until the screaming stops. Having the psychotic urge to murder people that you’ve never even met, for the sole reason that your God decided that you ought to be his right hand without your choice in the matter, that’s unfair. But unlike Evil McBlacknails over there, that Paladin puts on his helmet, sharpens his sword, and then continues walking through crowds of people day by day, resisting the urge. Seeing evidence of injustice so black it makes him sick. Seeing murderers and rapists walk the street, watching good men hang as evil ones pull the lever. Saving his righteous violence for when the situation exactly, specifically, precisely calls for it. Surgically removing that which is most evil. Because he’s a Paladin. And if he gave in to the urge, what would he be? Who will right the true wrongs if not he? It’s not about not falling as a Paladin. It’s about falling so fucking hard you crash through the planet and stand up on the other side.

So let me get this straight- People are whining about getting good quality criticism?
This is a thing now, then?
Because if it is, then shame on the people crying. I'd give my left arm to have someone in academia- even just a student- critique me so I'd hopefully get better. But hey, we can't all deal with polite criticism in the spirit of improvement, can we?
