Been reading In the Footsteps of Shamhat, which I enjoyed immensely 😄😄😄 I couldn’t help but think of a scene from Incredibles when reading about Rodan impregnating Vivi

*Vivi with her and Rodan’s baby trying to teach the child about different objects through flashcards*

Vivi: Triangle.

Baby: *Gives a gibberish equivalent of the word*

Vivi: Good, *pulls out new card* House.

Baby: *mimics the triangular roof with their hands while gurgling the word*

Vivi: Campfire *pulls out a card showing said campfire*

Baby: *gives a gurgle before setting their entire body ablaze in an instant*

So the rest of the Apes Kong now leads were, presumably, mostly spent their days doing hard labor even past the point of their back hurting and their fingers bleeding. But with Kong leading them all, they don’t need to do that anymore. Which has to be a bit odd at first, not unpleasant though.

So imagine all these Apes hanging outside and in a nicer part of Hollow Earth. They all had a great hunt, their bellies fuller than they’ve ever been. But what to do now? They have no heavy stones that need moving nor weapons to forge.

So one Ape, under the suggestion of Kong to just do as they please as long as it causes no trouble, has the brilliant idea of just face planting onto the soft ground below and taking a nap on the spot. 😂

They all deserve a nap!

Kong has Skar hoisted above his head- about to finish the job.

Shimo: Might I have this kill, Gojira?

Godzilla: Of course, fire away!

Battra lands on Godzilla's back, eyes and limbs twitching with pent up rage towards Skar.

Battra: Hold on now. Shimo, I understand you want this one- if I'm out of line here just tell me- but please let me use it.

Shimo: Oh gods, you can't mean...

Battra: Please.

Kong: Uh- what's he...

Goji: Shimo..?

Skar: YOU BITCHING POPCICLE! KILL THEM ALREADY!!

Shimo: ...go ahead. As many times as you want.

Battra: THANK YOU.

He flies up onto Kong's glove and pulls back his lower half. Godzilla can see a sizable black and yellow stinger- much larger than Mothra's- and a dark yellow bile seems to drip off the tip and onto the ground at Kong's feet.

Battra: Hey, what's the worst pain you've ever felt?

He he adjusts his posture so his stinger is aimed right at Skar's soft belly.

Skar: Now- hold on...

Battra: Doesn't matter. This'll be worse.

Ooooooooooh, Skar King done fucked up. Whatever Shimo would've done to him would be merciful.

I actually really like the Elder Scrolls ruling both for Abraxas and Shamhat.

It would go a long way to explain some stuff- like how Leo has almost no external traits of a Gojiran. It would also make it possible for Shimo's species to bounce back by virtue of her being a female.

However there are a couple unfortunate or even retconny stuff I could see with this. First off it would really make Goji, Rodan, and Ozzy true endlings- as any kids they produce would be more towards the mother's side than their side. It would kinda make one of Rodan's core motivations in Shamhat make a lot less sense (saving his species)- if the baby is gonna be more human than fire-bird. Also- it would make what Mothra mentioned about Vivienne popping out an egg instead of just a normal birth be a little strange. If they're supposed to take after their mothers, wouldn't it make more sense for the birth to just be live and the kid looking more like a draconic bloodline sorcerer than like a dragonborn? Especially since Vivienne probably lacks the biology to make an egg- thing.

Going back to the positives and Thor for a second, you could also do a classic myth inversion by having his mother be the Thunderer named Joro and Odin being a Jotnar. Or- maybe you could even have this theoretical Odin be a sorta cross-breed between a Jotnar and a Gojiran (or some other species- it'd make the most sense if it was a species with a heat-based ability, to kind of quell the ice powers) to explain away why Thor can't shoot off ice attacks.

I'd say the whole "taking after the mother" thing isn't necessarily a problem in Shamhat; it's something that only really matters in terms of birth since the baby will naturally need to be human-size in order to be born without harming the mother beyond Normal Childbirth Agony. They're also still half-Titan and thus have access to the Polymorph nonsense that the father has, they just need to learn how to use it. But at the end of the day, it's a smut fic! Realism and logic are optional.

Okay, in that context yeah, Thor having a Thunderer mom while the father is a different species makes more sense. Elder Scrolls Genetics are AbraxasVerse canon confirmed? Great for Barb and Mothra and other lady Titans! Less so for the guys... unless some well-meaning mad scientist decides to try some cloning nonsense to produce a female specimen of the male endling species, which also has the potential to go wrong... can't have shit in Detroit AbraxasVerse.
