A GSNK x HAIKYUU CROSSOVER - PART 1
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A GEKKAN SHOUJO NOZAKI-KUN VS. HAIKYUU!! CROSSOVER FANART BY ME.
Disclaimer: I do not own Haikyuu!! or Kieta Hatsukoi, including any of the characters or world-building. This fanart is intended for entertainment only. I am not making any profit from this story.
So, I'm really obsessed with Haikyuu!! lately, and when I discovered that Akaashi turns out to be a manga editor (in the timeskip), I had this dumb idea of "what if he met the Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun characters".
I have a headcanon that Bokuto reads Shoujo & Shounen mangas between practices - he prefers simple plots, because he just wants to relax when he's off court (which means that "Let's Love", by Yumeno Sakiko is a perfect choice for him 🤭).
Also, besides Daisuga and IwaOi, Bokuaka is one of my favorite ships, so I had to insert them here alfkasçfsk
I'm sorry if the characters are ooc, or if their appearances are weird, I tried to imitate the GSNK style, and I'm not sure I was successful...

You're fresh out of college and looking for a job. Everyone is hiring. Nobody who's "hiring" is actually hiring. You finally get a call back from somewhere you barely remember applying to (though the voice on the other end sounds synthesized). You pull up the job listing again real quick. The company name and the fact that the listing is for "Minion" are kind of concerning, but you know what, you've interviewed with enough evil corporations by now, you can handle one wearing its true colors on its sleeve. At this point it's a matter of making rent or moving back in with your parents, and as much as you love your family, you can't imagine spending another summer dealing with your brothers' antics. You agree to the interview.
The man who greets you is an enthusiastic older German(?) man who's either way too into cosplay or just that committed to the bit, judging by the lab coat. He made cookies. The tray of cookies is proffered to you by a ten-foot-tall robotic caricature of a 50s businessman. You take a deep breath to calm yourself. You bite into one of the cookies. It's delicious.
You ask the boss about his business model. "Oh you know, a little of this, a little of that, I bounce from project to project a lot." He mentions that his end goal is becoming the undisputed ruler of the surrounding counties. "Really? Not the whole world?" you ask. "I like to set realistic goals," he replies.
As he gives you the tour of his "evil lair," ingrained instincts are screaming at you to report this guy to some kind of authority figure. You remember the salary. You decide that you can always bust him after getting your first paycheck.
The boss asks when you can start. Caught off guard, you say "tomorrow?". Your boss(?) says he'll see you then.
On the way out, you bump into your stepbrother's girlfriend. Your boss introduces her as his daughter. You both silently agree to sidestep the subject for now and act like this is your first time meeting.
You show up to your first day of work. Your boss is putting the finishing touches on a giant machine that was definitely not there yesterday. You are nonplussed. You ask him what it's for and he launches into a convoluted explanation involving his parents always forcing him to put his shirts on backwards so the tag was in front. You think he should probably talk to a therapist.
Your brothers' exotic pet breaks down the wall. You stare at him. He stares at you. Incredulously, you say his name. "Oh, good, you two already know each other!" your boss says. You mention that you used to live with him. "What? Perry the Platypus, you never mentioned having a roommate."
This is what I like to imagine Candace Flynn's life is like, post P&F.

Rather proud of the post I made for JVP Boston for Holocaust Remembrance Day!
Antizionist Jewish Shoah survivors have always been some of my heroes.
And every one of them has been attacked and discredited by Zionists.

an ex-zionist jewish man recently went a bit viral on tiktok for sharing exactly how he sees zionism tie israel to the jewish identity and his personal experience with breaking away from it - I think it’s a really great watch.
He also made a follow up talking specifically about how he learned to humanise Palestinians, and a really integral part of it was his school, which would often bring in Palestinian speakers who’d share their perspective (here’s a link to it).

while not an actual action item for the general strike, you could also find some Palestinian recipes to cook. Part of the attempted erasure of Palestinian identity has been Israeli appropriation of recipes/foods. (And some pan-Arab foods too)

In light of Duolingo laying off its translators, here are my favourite language apps (primarily for Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, and te reo Māori).
Multiple Language
Anki is a flashcard programme and app that's not exclusively for languages. While making your own decks is ideal, you can also download shared decks for most languages.
If you're learning Japanese, specifically, Seth Clydesdale has websites for practicing alongside Genki's 2nd or 3rd editions, and he also provides his own shared Anki decks for Genki.
And if you're learning te reo Māori, specifically, here's a guide on how to make your own deck.
TOFU Learn is an app for learning vocabulary that's very similar to Anki. However, it has particularly excellent shared decks for East Asian languages. I've used it extensively for practicing 汉字. Additionally, if you're learning te reo Māori, there's a shared deck of vocabulary from Māori Made Easy!
Mandarin Chinese
Hello Chinese is a fantastic app for people at the HSK 1-4 levels. While there's a paid version, the only thing paying unlocks is access to podcast lessons, which imo are not really necessary. Without paying you still have access to all the gamified lessons which are laid out much like Duolingo's lessons. However, unlike Duolingo, Hello Chinese actually teaches grammar directly, properly teaches 汉字, and includes native audio practice.
Japanese
Renshuu is a website and app for learning and practicing Japanese. The vast majority of its content is available for free. There's also a Discord community where you can practice alongside others.
Kanji Dojo is a free and open source for learning and practicing the stroke order of kanji. You can learn progressively by JLPT level or by Japanese grades. There's also the option to learn and practice kana stroke order as well.

this is israel’s legacy—a state built unlawfully on colonialism and ethnic cleansing. a genocidal regime that has been brutally oppressing innocent people for almost a century. a public with no remorse nor self awareness for their actions. a people who believe their right to “exist” is bigger than the right of palestinian to live.
like sana saeed said, the israelis will be remembered for many things; but they will especially be remembered as the butchers of gaza.
a highly depraved, fascist, racist society that not only dehumanises its victims, but also dehumanises it’s own people and the religion it’s co-opted in its desire to usurp power and territory.
this will forever be your legacy. you and your supporters. mark our words. israel has fallen in the eyes of the public and no amount of propaganda is able to salvage its image now. and one day it will fall in its entirety. your hubris and apathy can only take you so far. israel will fall because it has to. it must be dismantled because it should never have been created.
for those of you who care… it’s not too late to be on the right side of history. recognise the flaws in your state. in your ideologies. in your government. nothing about this is complicated. it’s simple, really. genocide is never justifiable. taking away land from people who have been living there for centuries is not justifiable. the reward for your suffering cannot come at the expense of the suffering of another group of people. and the criticism of your state cannot be conflated with the criticism of your religion. because it isn’t your religion calling for the genocide of innocent and for ethnic cleansing. it’s your government, it’s ideologies, and it’s people’s rotted and brainwashed minds. wake up and see the truth for what it is.
free palestine.

It's hilarious to me when people complain about AO3 and its policies, and what they allow on the site - but it's ESPECIALLY funny when people complain like "Why can't the freaks make their own site and just go there?"
Sweetie... AO3 is the site for that. Y'all invaded our space.
Wattpad and FFN still exist. Go there. They're as shitty and G-rated as you want. You can't have the luxuries that AO3 offers if you're gonna be a little bitch about its policies. Imagine walking into a strip club and complaining about the alcohol and naked ladies when there's a god damn Dennys next door you could have gone to. Christ.

I just want to remind everyone how affordable buying food from indigenous tribes is. I live in a major city and I was able to purchase and ship (15) pounds of fish from back home to myself for cheaper than I could buy it from a grocery store here in the city. Yeah, shipping has its own environmental factors but I was able to support an indigenous owned business while also getting my groceries at a lesser cost. (Buying in bulk is always a good idea if you’re planning on having something shipped to you)
Some tribal owned grocers that ship:
Bow and Arrow (Ute Mountain)
Native Harvest (White Earth)
Red Lake Fishery (Red Lake)
Wozupi (Mdewakanton Dakota)
Ramona Farms (Gila River)
Tanka Bars (Oglala)
Indian Pueblo Store (Pueblos)
Twisted Cedar Wine (Cedar Paiutes)
Ute Bison (Ute)
Seka Hills Olive Oil and Vinegars (Yocha Dehe Wintun)
She Nah Nam Seafood (Nisqually)
Sakari Botanicals (Inupiaq)
Honor the Earth (? Anishinaabe)
Nett Lake Wild Rice (Boise Forte Anishinaabe)
Passamaquoddy maple (Passamaquoddy)
BONUS: coffee :)
Yeego Coffee (Navajo)
Spirit Mountain Roasting (Yuma Quechan)
Birchbark Coffee (Anishinaabe)
Thunder Island Coffee (Shinnecock)

this was a reblog under mine and @astraystayyh’s discussion on the assassination of dr. refaat alareer.
i kinda wanna laugh but again, like we always do on this blog… we’re gonna use this ignorance as a teachable moment. so let’s start, shall we?
Tumblr media
the case of the israeli hostages
you say we’d rather thousands get killed instead of releasing the hostages. so let’s address the latest news: the US, clearly backed by israel, vetoed the UN resolution for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire, which included the immediate and unconditional release of hostages as well as humanitarian access (UN).
and why did they do so? because they think a humanitarian ceasefire and the release of all hostages would only “benefit hamas”. see the problem here? they had a chance to save the hostages but chose not to. instead they want to keep killing palestinians.
nethanyahu also told families they won’t get all the hostages, much to their anger. let’s see what some of them have to say, yes?
"The feeling we had there was that no one was doing anything for us. The fact is that I was in a hiding place that was shelled, and we had to be smuggled out, and we were wounded. That's besides the (israeli) helicopter that shot at us on the way to Gaza."
“We were in tunnels, terrified that it would not be Hamas, but Israel, that would kill us, and then they would say Hamas killed you.” (Anadolu) — pretty valid fear considering this actually did happen (Dima Khatib)
“And you want to topple the Hamas government, to show that you have bigger balls? There is no life here that is more important than others.”
“Every day that pass is a game of roulette in their lives, why don’t you release (Palestinian) prisoners? Release them all and bring them (hostages) back. They live on borrowed time. Their lives are in your hands.”
“You put politics above the return of the kidnapped.” (CNN)
and they’re not talking about hamas. this is the released hostages and their families’ sentiment on how israel is handling this situation.
why were the hostages taken in the first place?
first of all, there are currently 7,200 Palestinian political prisoners in israeli custody, among them 88 women and 250 children under 18 (The New Arab). these prisoners are often kept in detainment with no trial aka they have not been charged for any crimes. so, this is motive enough for hamas to take hostages as a means to resist and fight against the unfair treatment of palestinians, no? israel are the aggressors here. not the palestinians.
let’s also talk about how around 500-700 children are detained by israeli forces every year (DCIP). what crime could a child have committed? these children are also subjected to physical violence, torture and sexual assault/harassment (Save the Children)
i could make a list of all the cruelty exacted upon palestinians but i fear this post will get too long so let’s stick to a few.
idf carries out raids and attacks in al-aqsa mosque during ramadhan (Al Jazeera). now tell me, what would excuse torturing a bunch of people worshipping and praying during their holy month? no read the whole article before you start running your mouth on technicalities and baseless claims.
for years israeli authorities have been banning certain goods from entering the strip. in 2009, they decided that no pasta could enter gaza. yes, pasta (independent). who does that? what would be the excuse other than to torture and antagonise.
palestinians also report that they often couldn’t shower because water was rationed. and electricity was another luxury they were deprived of—on average they only had access to electricity for 4-6 hours a day.
freedom of movement was another “privilege”. travelling to and out of Gaza was not a possibility for most people, even long before Hamas existed.
there is so much more. so so much more. can you really claim that israel is the victim in this situation? when they have been the aggressors for so long? in fact… this is only news from this century. i haven’t even touched on the absolute carnage and destruction that happened all throughout the 1900s.
“you people” have been killing jews
first of all… who is you? because it’s certainly not me or sahar. nor is it the people supporting palestinian liberation. and it’s definitely not the palestinians themselves. were the palestinians to be blamed for the holocaust? were the palestinians the ones who ethnically cleansed the jews? i don’t think so. history doesn’t think so. why must they suffer the consequences of crimes that were not theirs?
in fact… before the creation of israel as this so called “shelter”, palestinians were still being brutalised and antagonised by the zionists.
Tumblr media
still don’t buy it? here’s what ben gurion has to say:
Tumblr media
and placing all of that aside, you really want to call yourselves victims when israel has killed 17,400 people? when they had the chance to fully end all of this by giving palestinians the freedom they deserve and release all the palestinian prisoners detained for no reason? when even now… they’d rather keep killing and ethnically cleansing palestine than to agree for a humanitarian ceasefire (which will return the precious hostages you use as a flimsy excuse to justify genocide and deflect the blame off the israeli occupation).
you said “stop killing jews” when hamas’ motivations for resistance is based in retaliation and a desire for freedom from occupation. they do not care for the jewish identity of zionists. they care that their people are being oppressed and are fighting against said oppression.
meanwhile… your leader has explicitly stated his desire to “thin out” the population in gaza. so who’s killing who based on their identity, hm?
btw. here’s a thread of all the violence perpetrated by the israeli settlers. you really think hamas’ resistance is rooted in hatred for jews? nah. it’s because israeli settlers are cruel, tyrannical and utterly inhumane.
also, this is your safe haven, huh? that’s a video of israeli forces attacking jewish people who protest the genocide of the palestinians.
you say palestinian resistance is done in the name of killing jews but this is what palestinians have to say about the matter:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
shame on you @irxinn for your utterly racist, dehumanising and self important view on the most cruel and barbaric ethnic cleansing and genocide of a whole civilisation. israel is not, and will not ever be a victim. the state of israel was built on the idea of colonialism and ethnic cleansing, that will never change. and yes, jews are victims here too. victims of zionism and victims of the ethnostate that is conflating its genocidal and xenophobic ideals with their identity.
it isn’t palestinians that are the enemy of jews. nor is it hamas. it is israel. the sooner you realise that, the better.

As a bisexual virgin, this is something so important to me. Having sex is not something that you need. The same way that people shouldn't be shamed for having sex, people shouldn't be shamed for not having sex either, no matter what.
Listen man, you guys can't be like "you guys need to be normal about asexuality" and then turn around and get weirdly judgemental when you find out someone doesn't have sex by choice. Like that's weird that some of you do that.
