ive seen posts talk about a SOC spin-off series...

My biggest question to this is: will it continue after the events of Shadow and Bone(netflix) or will it totally disregard the show and be faithful to the books as an entirely new show with no relation to the S&B adaptation?

We see in season two of Shadow and Bone a total disregard for the chronology of the SOC duoligy. The story is completely out of order and the events are scrambled, where CK happens before SOC, making it impossible to adapt a storyline around parem that isn’t completely original. A lot of the scenes also lost their significance due to the lack of buildup and establishment of character backstories. 

The reasoning for Kaz and Inej being touch averse was not explored properly in the show, especially Inej. Wesper was the first properly established ship in the show whereas their mutual want for a relationship was the last one in the books. 

i think the characterisation of the crows was great and recognisable(with great performances from the actors) but way too rushed. Some of my favorite scenes from the books lost all the weight to make it possible for it to blend in with the events of S&B(the books). Like Jesper being a durast, all of Jordie and Pekka Rollins, all kanej interactions and the yearning. And the internal conflict of Matthias unlearning his prejudice and internal conflict, which was one of my favorite parts of the books.

I just genuinely want to know exactly what they mean by “Six of Crows spinoff”

like it's almost as if you can see the fear in the writing that they won't get another season bc of course that is not a definite with netflix. like them squeezing parts of six of crows and crooked kingdom with no plot nor enough character set up was so much more evident here. I don't understand why wasn't it like last season where it was a truly original plotline for the crows.

Don't get me wrong I was eating every kanej moment up, totally went off the rails.

but if there were to be a six of crows spin off, how much would they repeat themselves? Circling back to character beats that they rushed through in the shadow and bone series?
