Can we just talk about the Lombardi family? Especially in the first timeline?
I like how they say they don't brag or throw their name around, but it's "Lombardi" this or "Lombardi" that every few chapters. Jokes aside.
I've been catching up with the series and I'm considering rereading it, but can we talk about the dumpster fire that happened during the first timeline?
Everything went to hell so fast. How is it that over half of the family was just incompetent? They imploded and destroyed themselves within 1 generation after the grandfather passed, that's ridiculous. How did half of the children, including the grandchildren turn out to be greedy, conniving, fools?
Aunt Shananet married a (handsome) cheating fool, that's not her fault though, but not only was her husband a cheater, but he was also a thief that had been siphoning off the family's money! Not only that, but he won in the first timeline! He got away with all the cheating, money laundering, thievery, and he ended up taking this kids during the divorce. How'd he get the kids?! What did he tell them to convince them to turn on that sweet woman? He would've got away with it during the second timeline too, if he didn't give Tia that oddly cold look causing her to become suspicious of him.
Then next is the second oldest, the heir, Viese that fool! He's a greedy, whipped, clown. His wife is an Angenas and she's getting all in his head even during this timeline! Plus she is convincing him to do stupid things that don't benefit the Lombardi's. Not only that, but he and his wife had that rude little Bellezac who bullied the hell out of Tia during the first timeline! He treated her like garbage. The only good thing about this specific part of the family is their daughter Lorraine! Viese played a large hand in running that family into the mud.
Then we have the next oldest which is Laurels and he might be a bigger clown than Viese. That greedy coward sat back and watched his older brother run their family into the ground. His oldest son, Astaliu, is just as much as a cowardly follower as he is, plus when the son grew up he spent a large portion of their family funds gambling! The only good thing this part of the family has going for them is sweet little Craney!
Then we have Gallahan. He's great now, but he wasn't the best during the first timeline. I get that he lacked power, but he was cowardly too. He let his brothers run over him and his daughter. He couldn't really do much since he died pretty early on. I felt bad for him, he tried his best doing what he only knew how to do.
Shananet was the only competent family member besides Tia in the first timeline after the grandpa died, even if she was married to the hot cheating fool. How did the grandpa manage to raise such terrible children? 2 out of 4 his kids are just terrible. So are his grandsons.

I've been playing Crisis Core Reunion like crazy these past few weeks and Sephiroth has been on my mind a lot recently. Can I just say that he is beautiful? The new renditions of him are amazing.
Tumblr media
His backstory in crisis core made him feel like a slightly more sympathetic character. A few people disliked the fact that he even had a backstory because they wanted him to be a shallow evil character. His backstory didn't justify his behavior but it explained how he got there. I personally enjoy the fact that he's not evil just to be evil, and that he was just a regular person once.
I've always wondered how the story would change if Sephiroth was made aware from the beginning, during his childhood, of his parental situation? Would he still have went off the deep end? I don't believe so. He would've still been saddened and heartbroken about what happened to his friends, he probably would've still betrayed the Shinra company, but him believing that Jenova was his mother(and that he wasn't human) really pushed him over the edge.
He didn't necessarily even need to know who his parents were, just that he is a human, and was born to a human man and woman. A large portion of the plot was driven by his grief and the fact that he believed that he was essentially an ancient alien life force.
Really, all he'd need to know was his mother's name. He didn't even have to know that Hojo was (presumably) his father. Hojo obviously had no interest in being a father, so just knowing his mothers name would've sufficed. Heck, he didn't even really need to know Lucrecia's name, just that she was a human woman and maybe that she was a scientist.
Though it's possible that this wouldn't have changed anything, but I'd like to believe that it would've changed something.

I wonder what the relationship between Gun and Goo is? I've seen people say that they're just partners who work together, but I don't think I believe that they're just co-workers.
Part of me would like to believe that they're friends to an extent. If not then why would they hang out with each other outside of work? We've seen them at karaoke together, golf together, fish together, play pool, play cards at each other's house, etc... if they were just co-workers there'd be no need for that. Plus they don't even work in the same department anymore yet they still hang out together.
I think they're friends but they're also rivals. Maybe even frenemies?

Can we just talk about how this guy, at the age of 19 or 20 is one of the most hated people in Seoul?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gun literally became public enemy #1 at the tender age of 15 or 16. Anytime you saw Gun you just knew it was over for you.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Gun is literally a monster and I say this as a Gun stan but a realistic one. Just look at him. Look at what he does. Look at what he's done. Not only has he beat everyone's ass but he's also embarrassed them in the process. It's no wonder that everyone literally hates him.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Literally, what the hell is this? How do you fight someone whose doing the first pose? The answer is that you don't. God, I would hate Gun if I lived in that world. What type of hellish childhood did Gun have in Japan to make him this way? We desperately need a Gun backstory.

So I'm rereading Eli Jang's backstory and now that I think about it, Heather is kind of wrong.
I know that they were both 15, but Eli had the education of a 2nd grader, he was mentally and emotionally stunted as well. Instead of mentally being 15 it was more like he was stuck at being 7 or perhaps 10 at best.
Heather, though just being 15, emotionally and mentally was a healthy teenager. I know she was a child as well, but it seems predatory now looking back that she had sex with him. She was old enough to know what the act was and what it entailed. She was old enough to know how it worked and that a baby could be produced. Plus she had access to a cell phone and a school library. Probably a laptop as well to do whatever research she wanted.
Eli had no idea. He didn't know what it was. He didn't know how to do it. Going back to him mentally and emotionally being 7-10, he thought that holding a girls hand would make him pregnant. I don't think someone in his situation could've properly consented to doing the act honestly.
He was delayed emotionally and mentally due to trauma and abuse... if they were both on the same level mentally and he was a normal kid then it just would've been an oopsie, but him being in the state he was makes it seem like he was taken advantage of to me. Even Sally herself recognized that something wasn't right with Eli in her words he "didn't know any better" and was "slow," so code words for delayed essentially. Just words for thought. She didn't technically do anything illegal but I think that it was morally wrong. Though because she was 15 she probably didn't think that deeply into it aside from "he's handsome" and "I like him."

So apparently Gun is a teenager and that makes everything extremely wild, at least wilder than it was before
He is essentially not only helping run their country but he's also just terrorizing everyone who won't submit to him. Imagine being a fully grown adult in your 30's and a high school aged boy just comes to fuck your life up. Straight up knocks your head through the wall and makes you give up your livelihood.
Back in ch. 38, Gun is talking to some 3rd years and he tells them not to speak so respectfully to him because they're the same age. Korean 3rd years are 18 and 19 years old.
Tumblr media
In one chapter he also mentioned having to find a successor before he turns 21 because he'll have to retire from the teenage gangs...
Also, the aging is different, they're already 1 years old as soon as they're born.
So this entire time everyone has been getting beat the hell up by a high school senior. He's not even a full fledged adult and yet he's become public enemy number 1.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Teenager where?!? Maybe from Jojo. I honestly assumed that he was in his early 20's, not that he was a kid.

You know what Lookism moment lives rent free in my mind?
That time when Daniel took his belt off and spanked Hudson Ahn during their fight. It was so random that I had to laugh and I do a double take every single time. Moments like that make reading Lookism worth it for me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I loved the One Night arc, looking back at chapter 1 to now the main characters have not only changed but have physically come far. We have depressed Zack who finally won a fight. A furious Vasco who decided to do the one thing he said he'd never do. Then finally we have a manic Daniel who has arguably lost his marbles and is having too much fun.
Also, we got to see DG! It's good to see him twice every 100 chapters.

Can I just say that I hated Jiho as a character, but it's sad seeing what he became? Some will say that he deserved everything that happened to him, others will argue otherwise, but I'll say that regardless of any of that it's still a sad thing to see and his descent was interesting to watch.
I recently got into Lookism after reading How To Fight. I always tried so hard to read Lookism but I just couldn't get past the art style. I pushed myself and I'm loving it! Jiho seems to be a very controversial character. I hated him as a person but loved him as a character.
Seeing him go from a normal yet annoying honor roll school boy to essentially a terrifying delinquent was an interesting tragedy to witness. The juvenile detention center chewed him up and spit him out. It definitely did more harm than good.
Maybe he could've turned his life around with proper help and mental health resources, or maybe not. These pictures just tell a pretty sad story by themselves... if you only saw the first and last picture with no context you'd think that they were two different boys...

244/Jinho Lee as a dad
After putting it off, I finally caught up with Viral Hit on Webtoons. I’m someone who loves reading headcanons/scenarios about my favorite series and just people’s thoughts in general. A popular headcanon across many fandoms seem to be “how would x be as a dad,” and I’ve given it some thought.
There are many lovely headcanons about father 244 on here, but I have a different idea of how he would be, so here we go! This will be single dad 244. Possible mild spoilers!
Tumblr media
I can’t imagine him being married, which is why I’m going the single father route. I can see him having a child due to an accidental slip-up. He’d either be a single father because the mother is deceased or because they aren’t together, but let's go the deceased route. Sorry, mom.
According to the wiki, he is older than 25, but I can’t imagine him being older than 33. Let’s put him around 28 for our scenario. For scenario/headcanon purposes let's say that he has a 5 year old daughter .
Onto the good stuff, I don’t think 244 would be a good dad. I believe that he would be emotionally unavailable. He himself and other characters who know him as Jinho acknowledge that he is heartless and lacks proper emotions. He doesn’t view people as people and admittedly feels empty. I personally think that he is possibly a psychopath. Whatever love he would have for his child would be shallow and more like the love one would have for a belonging or tool than a person.
He wouldn’t be physically affectionate unless he had something to gain from it. I can see him only being affectionate to look good in front of others or to manipulate his child into doing something because he knows that humans crave affection.
He would provide well financially. We can see that he is pretty wealthy. I think that his daughter would live in a nice neighborhood, go to the best schools, have the best toys, and she'd receive a hefty allowance once she entered middle school. Now, I don't think that he'd send his child to the best schools just because, she'd definitely have to eventually do something in return such as making sure to brush shoulders with the children of powerful men, only so he can use them to expand himself and go even higher. Not at 5 but she'll have to be prepared for it later on.
Part of me thinks that he'd raise her as a useful tool but another part of me thinks that she would have a somewhat normal but detached upbringing.
Another thing, I don’t think that he’d would ACTUALLY raise his own child. I think that for the most part his child would be raised by a nanny.  They'd live in the same house but he seems to be a busy man so I imagine that he'd be away on "business" trips pretty often. I'd say that he'd spend half of his time at home and the other half out.
I could see him checking in on her progress and status through the nanny though. I don't think he would go out of his way to take her out or spend time with her unless he needed her for something or she requested it. Perhaps he'd do it every once in a while on a whim.
Now I don't think he'd be a complete asshole to his own child. He wouldn't be mean but he wouldn't go out of his way to be loving. Like he would let his child hug him but he wouldn't go out of his way to hug his own child. He also wouldn't be the type to randomly tell his child he loves her, I don't think he'd actually say it in general, unless once again, he had something to gain. He'd be a distant father.
His child wouldn't have the best upbringing honestly, but it wouldn't be the worst. She would be well fed, have a warm bed, nice toys, and warm clothes, but she would have a distant father. I can imagine her having a loving nanny who continually tries to (wrongfully) tell her that 244 loves her very much.
How he behaves as a father could go multiple ways. He could be a "normal" yet distant father, constantly on business trips, not really affectionate, always throwing money towards his child, but he never actually does anything bad. He's not the most loving dad but he wouldn't full on treat his daughter terribly.
He could also just go full bad father route. Extremely manipulative(more so than usual) and essentially raises his child solely as a tool to help further himself.
He'd possibly be a mixture of the two. Sometimes manipulative and occasionally uses his daughter as a tool if the situation calls. But he wouldn't go out of his way to specifically raise her as a tool and constantly use her as one.

There's a fic on archive of our own about vance getting kidnapped that may put things into perspective, it's written tastefully given the material you gotta use.
Sounds interesting, what's the name of it? Thanks in advance!

So, I watched the Black Phone and it was one of the better horror movies I've seen in 2022. There's one thing that plagues my mind though, how did the Grabber managed to kidnap Vance?
Finny and Robin sure, we saw how that went down anyway. Even if we didn't see it, I'd assume that it wouldn't have been extremely difficult for a grown man to snatch a 13 year old boy up.
But Vance? He was like 15 years old, nearly as tall as the Grabber. How on earth did the Grabber pick him up and put him in the van?
During the beginning of the movie we saw him snatch Bruce off of his bike and throw him into the van, so I'm going to assume that he did something similar to Vance. Bruce and Vance looked roughly the same size. I personally think that he possibly saw Vance walking alone and snatched him off of the street, but it couldn't have been that easy right? Although Vance was slim he looked pretty tall and we saw that he was strong too.
Hitch hiking was also pretty big in the 70's so maybe he offered Vance a ride and took that opportunity to spray him in the eyes.
From what we saw of Vance. I couldn't see him going down without a fight though. He just seemed like a very poor/risky target. He was an older child, tall, and feisty.

I have Black Butler thoughts that keep me up at night
Is it just me or does Sebastian look pretty young to be a butler? Canonically we don't have a fake human age for him but he takes the appearance of a young man.
When I think of a butler I think of well an adult, someone who is older than their 20's. Maybe 34 or 35+. Sebastian looks like he can be anywhere from 22 to 25 to me if he was a human.
The other servants look the age that I'd imagine them to be for their roles. Tanaka who seems to be in his late 60's to 70's was the butler, Meyrin who is a young woman is a maid, Finny is a young servant boy who does garden work, and well Bard is the cook though he can't cook.. he appears to be a man in his mid 30's/40's.
But then, I look at Sebastian.. and he doesn't scream butler to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He looks like he would've been a footman. Footmen, although they did work were for show as well. They were known to be handsome, tall, young men who worked for wealthy nobles. They were usually considered a status symbol. Footmen with age and experience could advance to being a butler. Some did happen to play the role of a second butler though.
I can't help but to laugh when I think about it. It looks like a young man is running the whole household, at least to humans it does. Like this seemingly 20 something year old man is in charge of the entire estate and taking care of the teenage master.

Look at me helping keep this fandom alive with my thoughts.
I think that Sebastian is a really interesting character, not because he's hot or because he's a demon. Over the years I've seen many people say that he isn't a good character, lacks depth, lacks characterization, lacks a personality, etc... but I don't think that's necessarily true. We don't know much about him but over the years we've seen bits and pieces of his personality and whatnot. Now some of it is possibly a lie because in his own words, from one of my favorite panels, he is "nothing but can become anyone"
Tumblr media
He claims to lack emotions, but we've seen him emote before. We've seen him upset, angry, annoyed, uncomfortable, displeased, pleased, etc... most are negative emotions but still emotions nonetheless.
He was obviously uncomfortable and displeased at the thought of having to fight Undertaker again and said that he'd rather avoid him if possible.
He gets annoyed by the servants always messing up. He was angry and upset during chapter 93-95ish when O!Ciel lost his memory and was crying in bed for days. He started off upset but let it go on for a little until he had enough and then tried to eat him out of frustration.
I'd also argue that seeing and playing with cats made him pleased and maybe even happy. He also seems to take pleasure(not sexual) in O!Ciel's misery at times.
We've seen him be proud, boastful, and mischievous. We've seen him be shocked and surprised.
Now we haven't seen him "love" or anything like that but just because he hasn't that doesn't mean that he lacks emotions. I personally think that he has emotions, just not the emotional range that a human would. Now that could be because he's simply unable because of what he is or it could be because he lived so long that he just doesn't care.

I'm glad to see that other people have thought about whether or not Sebastian is "young." I've definitely thought about it before.
I think "Sebastian" is pretty young, and hasn't really been around humans for long periods of time before now. And our Ciel is definitely the first child he's interacted with.
Sebastian is a young demon?
That's pretty much my thoughts on it. For a demon, he might be "young" and somewhat inexperienced, despite any humble bragging or outright boasting.
At some point, the demon gives up "messily sampling" souls and starts accepting contracts. But the only hints we have about his previous contracts suggest there might not have been many. In fact, we only have hints about two previous contracts: one in the second half of the 18th century in Austria and maybe one in the later 15th century in Italy. Those assessments are based on things he says about the Viennese Waltz and the outfits he changes into when our earl seems shocked by his first appearance as a human.
If he slept between those contracts, that means a lot of time spent in his own realm, away from human contact.
I wouldn't say our earl is the first child he's ever interacted with, but he's definitely the only child contractor he's ever had, and he says so. He admits he's not used to caring for a human who can do so little for themselves, and he's not used to masters who expect the demon to cook from scratch, appear to do things the human way, or generally "act human". And even though Sebastian suggests a human lifetime isn't a long amount of time for him to wait for his "meal", Othello suggests that most contracts don't last long at all, because most humans have very simple wishes when they make contracts.
The demon learns knowledge and skills from contracts, and judging by the things he didn't have skills with or knowledge about (like choosing dish patterns [according to the Character Guide], making tea, cooking, bathing a person, water temperatures that harm humans, particular illnesses like asthma, or even how to get the best work out of the other servants), he's never had contracts before where those skills or that knowledge was required.
And I think demons learn emotions from devouring souls, especially ones from contracts. Seems like the souls he's devoured in the past were somewhat lacking in emotional range. Perhaps those previous masters had experienced no true sense of love or loss. Not like his current young master.... They were probably truly more selfish individuals.

I'm hoping that the current arc, the Blue Revenge arc, will be wrapping up by the end of 2022. I hope to enter a new arc in 2023. The current arc has been ongoing since 2019.
I feel that it can definitely be wrapped up by December. I have many thoughts not only on this arc but on the series as whole.
1. How is Yana going to fix the predicament that O!Ciel is in? I'm positive that he can "easily" prove that he isn't a serial killer. I did wonder how the characters fell for that so easy, a weak scrawny 13 year old boy somehow managed to kill so many adults? Even if they didn't believe it, there was nothing they could've done though.
If I was in that world.. I would have assumed that if it had to O!Ciel and company that it was Sebastian who did it. Moving on, what on earth will O!Ciel do about the identity theft? Impersonating a noble was a major crime band then and I doubt they'll let him off the hook because he's a traumatized little boy.
2. I still don't have the slightest clue about who killed the Phantomhive's and all their servants, except for Tanaka, I know that R!Ciel is popular culprit though. The queen has always seemed shady to me so I wouldn't be surprised if they did it. The manor being burned to the ground after everyone was murdered wasn't a coincidence. Also, how does the occult tie into this? Who are they? Where'd they come from? Why did they do that, they want to summon a demon yes, but why take the twins? They should've died in the fire with their parents. Why did they want to summon a demon? Who sent them?
3. What is up with Undertaker? What is his goal here? I know that he doesn't want to lose any more Phantomhive's but what is he trying to do here? Is his goal to save O!Ciel with his convoluted method? Or does he have bigger plans? O!Ciel, aside from Frances/Francis, is currently the only ALIVE Phantomhive left. You'd think that he wouldn't be trying to make O!Ciel's life so hard.
4. Who will the final antagonist be? I think that it'll be Sebastian. He will definitely still want o!Ciel's soul in the end. Of course he will. He's a demon and he worked hard for it. He isn't letting O!Ciel go. The only way I can see him not eating O!Ciel's soul is if he is killed.
5. How will the manga end? What do you guys think?
6. I'm filled with uncertainty but one thing I'm certain of is that R!Ciel will have to go. He isn't "real." He is nothing more than a reanimated corpse. A doll. He's been sketchy and giving me sinister vibes since he arrived. If he really wanted to appear as non threatening and not sinister than he wouldn't have framed O!Ciel for murder and revealed himself in such a grand reveal. He could've easily personally came to O!Ciel to talk to him and figure something out. I fear that he's trying to break O!Ciel. He comes across as abusive and manipulative with his dialogue. He wants to go back to the old dynamic of O!Ciel being a weak, sniveling, sickly, and dependent little boy who needs his big brother, but no. How about we not.
7. I'm hoping that Tanaka takes O!Ciel's side and that Francis/Frances and Alexis wise up quickly and realize that something isn't right about R!Ciel. I have hope because Frances/Francis seemed hesitant about R!Ciel going to the Queen. I got the vibe that she felt like something was off. His story seemed like utter bullshit. We know that there is SOME truth to it.. but we also know that he died.
They don't know that.. *sigh* if only they would've taken his body back home and simply said that it was O!Ciel then it wouldn't have been this easy for him to pull a fast one. I do understand why O!Ciel took his brothers identity. It was a mixture of a lot of things. One of them definitely being guilt and the other being trauma. Hoping that his family hears him through and forgives him for it. He was and is just a child. Plus, they wouldn't have let him become watchdog if he returned as himself. Would they even have been as happy to see him return as himself ? I hope so.
8. I hope to see Soma again. Poor boy, why did Agni have to die?
