equating arabs and muslims to terrorists at any given opportunity has always been the go-to tool to silence our voices, but the world has awoken and it simply will not work the same way it did for you post 9/11 - when these same tactics were used as a way for the western world to justify and encourage the wars, invasions, occupations and massacres of our countries and people

i feel like i should also mention that the ground zero monument has seen protests of all kinds, including anti-muslim protests that have taken place there in the past, and more recent pro-israel protests as well

please keep speaking up. please keep sharing and spreading the truth. the shift in rhetoric accompanied with the bush-era dehumanization of our communities is frightening to see again, so please push back hate and racism when and where you see it and do not let them silence you
