Amelia wanted to continue, there was that desire to continue but she had a job to do first, that was her priority. Oh but his lips felt too good against hers, "Alejandro.." Amelia muttered pulling away again. "I have a job I have to complete first" She explained "because wherever we go, yours or mine they're just going to follow and it isn't safe. If you get hurt or worse, that's on me"
She picked up the bag placing it over her shoulder. Part of her wanted to simply say fuck it, but the sensible part of her brain said otherwise. "I need to do this for both of us" She gave a reassuring smile, small however. "We can't go back to mine or yours, it'll be compromised." and that was his fault, which Amelia was still angry at him for. "There is a safe house just west of here, we will have to go there and replan everything"
It was true, a Holmes liked to believe they were always right.. Perhaps it was one of their greatest flaws. There were many times where she'd been wrong, though in situations such as these Amelia knew what she was doing. "Yeah yeah because I'm so irritating, but I'm the one who organises this whole operation!" She argued voice raised slightly, the bag still upon her shoulder.
"I don't intend to learn languages no, but I have to pick them up" Again it was another trait, her father and uncle both were quick at learning different languages in what seemed like seconds and the younger had picked up that trait too. It was then that she felt his lips upon her own, it was a shock at first naturally, how a heated argument could turn into such an act.
The bag fell to the floor with a thud as she felt herself relax almost instantly, though part of Amelia was still annoyed at Alejandro. She brought her hands to the sides of his face, fingers lightly touching his jawline. It was funny how such hands that could kill and harm were so soft and gentle when she wanted to be. Amelia pulled away, hazel hues opening, "I'm still annoyed at you" This wasn't safe. They should be running away from their location not staying, who knew was on their tails? Though Amelia enjoyed that sense of danger, anyone who did the jobs that she did had to enjoy the adrenaline rush.

"You were the one who hired me! Not the other way around. You wanted a job done, I'm getting it done, if you don't like it then you know exactly where to go" Amelia responded arms crossing over her chest. "I deal with dangerous people, that means doing things the hard way because if you are one foot out of line then that is it game over." Amelia explained, she wasn't one to argue usually by now she'd had walked out but if she were honest she enjoyed his company.
"I'm stubborn because I have been doing this for years, I am military trained, I have worked with police and the government for jobs like this, that is why I'm stubborn because I know what I'm doing and operations like this have to be done strategically. Hell, I spent three months in infiltrating gangs in Mexico to get information to bring those criminals to justice. Why do you think I know Spanish?! I didn't just learn it because I thought it'll be fun. " Well.. It was fun but this was hardly the point she was trying to make. " You wanted a Holmes, well don't complain when what you wanted isn't living to your fantasy standards. "

Amelia gave a frown, anger quite clear in her eyes. "I wasn't the one who gave away our location!" She retorted giving a huff, throwing her things into her bag. "You have compromised everything this whole operation. What I was doing was going to infiltrate them, under cover but now we are going to have to start the whole thing again" The brunette threw her bag on her shoulder the frown still evident. "The next time I say don't do something, don't go ahead and do it anyway, you could have gotten us both killed"

"Hm?" She questioned looking up to John before it processed what he had said. "Oh.. Just thinking if he knows something I don't" Amelia admitted giving a small reassuring smile to Watson. The train began to move, watching the scenery fly past her as it picked up speed. "Feel like I'm missing something important like it is staring me in the face"
Amelia unlike her father, spoke a lot on her thought process. Yes she had her own mind palace, although Amelia knew that John didn't have the same way of thinking, so it made it easier on both ends if she explained what she was thinking and why.
"I'm sure it'll come to me" Amelia commented leaning back a little in her seat, deciding to put her phone away in her pocket. "I haven't been sleeping again, so my mind isn't exactly up to speed" though you didn't need to be Sherlock Holmes to see the bags under eyes.

Amelia couldn’t help the wide smile, “oh I know she is, I wouldn’t expect any less of our landlady Watson” She noted, getting into the car putting on her seatbelt. “Is dad meeting us there?” she had already guessed yes, given that he wasn’t in the car with them. Trust him to go awol, although Amelia would do exactly the same thing.
The taxi soon went off although it wasn’t the station they heading to, it seemed that their little journey in the cab wouldn’t be little at all. “It seems we are going out of the City” She observed, her head in her phone as she texted away.
Tumblr media
“dad is already there” she commented with a small hum, hazel eyes looking to John, what did he know that she didn’t? That was bugging her, and that much was entirely clear, the cogs turning in her head, trying to piece every bit of the puzzle together.
John doesn’t say much on the car ride, instead listens to the way Amelia types away on her phone until they make it to the train station. “Is he?” He finally says with a nod. “Well that was fast. I should have known he wouldn’t be able to wait to meet us here,”
He shakes his head, a small smile appearing on his lips as he gestures for Amelia to climb the few steps into the train first, before following and settling down into their seats.

Mycroft took the folder from John giving it a quick flick through. Amelia sat herself down on the sofa, removing her top so that John could take a proper look at the wound without excess clothing getting in the way. Her physique was strong, tattoos although small upon her body along with some scarring on her arms and torso, though the most prominent one was the one that went from her shoulder and the same on the other side directly behind on her back.
"Amelia, I don't think you should be getting into trouble" Mycroft commented seeing the scar upon her shoulder a look of guilt evident in his eyes albeit briefly. The young Holmes looked to John, the makeshift bandage now fully soaked with her own blood, the pain beginning to fully set in as the adrenaline ran out of her veins. "You can't control me uncle" Amelia responded, making Mycroft look up "I'm not trying to control you, I'm trying to protect you. The last time you got mixed in with this" He raised the folder in his hand "You got that scar and we very nearly lost you, neither I nor your father want to go through that again" He gave a frustrated sigh, fingers to the bridge of his nose.
"We got the file, all the evidence you and Lestrade need to bring down that gang are in that folder." Amelia responded completely ignoring the integrity of it all, just as she usually did. "Oh did you think I would forget that you're the reason I think and act like a soldier? Or the reason I can shoot, disarm bombs in seconds and infiltrate high security places is hardly just because I'm a Holmes. So don't tell me about being careful when you're the reason in the first place" Amelia raised her voice, perhaps revealing information that Watson wouldn't have known about.
She was upset. That much was clear, emotions were high and tiredness sunk in. "The gang are affiliated with Moriarty, Jim's signature is everywhere.." Amelia sighed leaning back in the seat. "If that is true then Amelia I don't want you going anywhere near it" Mycroft retorted, though Amelia gave a small scoff "Too late, I'm already involved as is John and no doubt my father will be again too" Hazel eyes looked up toward John again, truth be told she didn't want to get involved with Moriarty again, not after the last time.. It was true, she had been found practically on deaths door and that thought had haunted her ever since, even if she didn't wish to admit it.

THIS WASN’T THE FIRST TIME THE YOUNG HOLMES HAD BEEN SHOT, although it didn’t mean that it wasn’t any less painful. It astounded her in the fact that the people of London were so..oblivious. A small laugh passed her rose coloured lips, “Yeah, he’ll have surveillance on my every move. I’ll be rather surprised if he isn’t already there now.” Mycroft had eyes everywhere, given his job it was hardly surprising.
What felt like a decade they soon reached Baker Street, her clothes were dirty and bloody, sweat upon her face from a mix of the pain and the physical exertion. Hazel hues immediately saw the black car that was parked close to the flat of two hundred and twenty one. “Mm, seems I was right.” She muttered a little to herself, opening the door allowing herself inside.
Mrs Hudson was the first to greet the two in a sudden shock, “Amelia! Mycroft said you were-?” her eyes went to the blood on the makeshift bandage that John had used to tie the wound, “I’m fine Mrs Hudson, it seems my uncle wasted no time at all.” there was a hint of annoyance in her tone, making her way up the steps toward flat b. She kept hold of John, the blood loss hadn’t been substantial though it was enough to make her feel a little light headed.
Tumblr media
“you should really go to the hospital for that” the slight monotone voice of Mycroft could be heard, there he was, sat in one of the chairs, upright and poised as he always was. “No hospitals. I’m fine, it’s just a flesh wound right, John?” though it wasn’t a question, it was more a ‘back me up here..’ comment. “and you know for sure that you weren’t followed?” Mycroft asked with a raised brow. The notion made her scoff, “We weren’t followed, I think I’d know if we were followed by the bastards who did this, and anyway, I gave them a lesson or two” because apparently knocking two unconscious was a lesson in Amelia’s eyes.
Truly, John doesn’t really want to get involved in any of this more than he has to, because he’s LEARNED over the years to try and not get involved in family affairs as much. Then again, they’re kind of his family too, if not by blood, and he’s never left Sherlock hanging, so he won’t leave Amelia hanging either, not even when Mycroft gives him what can only be describes as a death glare.
“I’ll be monitoring her closely, making sure she gets some rest.” He finally says, looking between the two of them. “And I’m pretty sure we weren’t followed. We managed to knock out most of them and then left the scene, blending into the crowds.” He leaves out the fact that they probably knows just who he is, and it’s not a secret where John lives, but that’s nothing NEW either. They would simply have to amp up the security once again.
Tumblr media
“We did get some interesting things off of them though.” John says, reaching into the bag he’s carrying and handing over the folder to Mycroft. “Feel free to take a LOOK while I take care of Amelia’s wound.”

Amelia gave him a raise of her brow, "I am focusing on us getting out of here!" She snapped, she had calculated three gunmen, the good thing about being a Holmes was she worked extremely well under pressure. Brown hues looked to Alejandro, placing her hand upon his shoulder she gave a serious look, it wasn't sarcastic or snarky, it was geniune. "Right now you're safer here than out there. Do me a favour and don't move from this spot. Got it? Good" She didn't give him time to answer.
Amelia got to her feet her hand upon the trigger, she aimed before stepping into the firing line, quickly shooting once to one man closest to her hitting him directly in the chest. The young Holmes quickly moved to the next place where she could cover, most often forgot she had been in the military, known for her detective skills, but she had more than one skill up her sleeve.
The other two were closer together, she had calculated that she had three shots left. The brunette moved out again, BANG, another was down and before the other gunman could reload his weapon another shot was heard, Amelia had hit him square in the chest.
The smell of smoke and gunpowder wafted into the atmosphere, breathing heavy. "It is safe!" She called to Alejandro, making a mental note to herself to never bring him along on a case again.
@fxcdboys Alejandro
THIS WAS HIS FAULT, Amelia went to duck for cover behind the car, gun in hand, as the bullets were targeted at the two. Hazel hues looked to the lawyer with a disapproving look. "You got us into this mess!" She shouted, reloading the weapon in her grasp.
"Now I have to look after the both of us!" She was unamused, anger in her veins. She had already calculated their odds, not to mention she had already been hit in the leg but Amelia carried on, after all wasn't she the most skilled in this area?
"I told you, don't come with me because they will recognise you" She pulled back the top of the gun, hearing the click, shooting back with more precision than they were. Amelia ducked back down, "But no, you had to ignore me"

Amelia knew that she was like her father, she’d been told it too many times for her not to forget. Mrs Hudson usually had some go at her one way or the other, then there was Molly who just gave her unapproving look. Hazel eyes had a glint, a smirk gracing her lips. “An invitation he can’t refuse? Must be interesting” She mused getting to feet with a clap of her hands.
Amelia wasted no time at all hurrying to the room to grab her usual bits and bobs. She didn’t need much accept the necessary items, mundane to her however. Fifteen minutes barely felt like two, she grabbed her leather jacket, pulling her bag over her shoulder, phone slipping into the back of her denim pocket of her jeans. “Well, let’s go then” She mused, opening the door of 221b. Mrs Hudson was at the bottom of the stairs, head peeking through in curiosity “Where are you all off to?” She asked, to which Amelia gave a bright grin. “A case Mrs Hudson! A very mysterious case, can’t chat I’m afraid, no time to lose!” She opened the front door, heading onto the street of Baker Street, the cold nipping slightly at her cheeks.
John uses the time provided while Amelia gathers her things to make sure everything in the apartment is in order and the door is locked once they make their way downstairs and past Mrs.Hudson. There’s the hint of a smile on his face as he watches Amelia interact with the landlady, so reminiscent of Sherlock, really, as he gives a wave. “We’ll hopefully be back tomorrow, if not, by the weekend!” He calls as they step outside, where a cab is already waiting.
“You know she’s going to bother you for details once we return,” He chuckles, holding the door open for the other to slide into the warmth of the car, assuming the driver knows where to take them. ( and assuming it’ll be the train station anyway ).

Amelia gave a raise of her brow, "Oh am I?" She asked, giving a small laugh "Mr Gomez that isn't how these things work. I decide if I want to take you on as a client and if the case is worth my time" She explained going to sit herself back down, picking up the mug of tea again.
"You intrude on my day uninvited and now tell me that I am to help you get evidence for a case?" Stubborn, demanding, feisty.. Everything everyone had said she would be. Truth be told she didn't have a case at the moment, though Alejandro didn't need to know that.
"You have to sell it to me, why do you think I'd want to help you?" It wasn't like Amelia was entitled, it was just she didn't waste her time with cases that were boring, where people were boring. She needed something to really make her brain work, without it her brain rots, as was the Holmes genetics.
"I can speak several languages fluently as I am sure you have just gathered by my Spanish.. I have solved many different cases to Jack the Ripper copy cats, the infamous James Moriarty and have been in secret services within the British Government.. Not to mention I could tell you a lawyer simply by the shoes you wear and the fact you're clearly attracted to me because you can't keep your eyes off of me. I can tell my landlady is a total drug dealer simply by the perfume she uses.. So, if you want me to take on a case, it has to live up to my expectations, do you think you can do that?" Most would be intimidated and left by now, but Amelia didn't care, she didn't care how she acted or if she was a smart ass.
Amelia gave a raise of her brow, unfolding her arms to allow them to fall at her sides. "I would say it is nice to meet you but you're intruding" at least she was honest. "Don't worry about the landlady, I'll be having words and I can't afford to move elsewhere anyway" which was true, she wasn't going to use Mycroft's money to move her.
Although it seemed that she wasn't going to be getting rid of the lawyer, "Tea? Coffee? Since I may as well offer you one for still being here" Amelia wasn't a coffee drinker, which was something she found difficult in the culture of Americans. She removed the gun from the back of her jeans putting it on the table, she grabbed herself a mug placing a tea bag in boiling some water.
"So, I ask again.. Client?" She had noticed that he hadn't answered her question. "although I don't know why a lawyer would want me as a client"

COFFE IT WAS. HE WAS LUCKY she had filtered rather than the processed instant stuff. She mixed the powder in with the hot water, one for herself for her mug and the other for the coffee jug. She had watched how American's drank coffee, strong but with cream instead of milk, hardly surprising considering just how bitter it was. What did surprise her was he was in fact a client, unusual.. lawyers didn't usually want her help.
The brunette poured the filtered coffee into a mug before pouring some of the cream into another small pouring jug so he could choose just how much cream he wanted. Placing both of the things down Amelia sat opposite, tea in hand, clasped with both hands as she held it to her chest. One leg crossing over the other she leaned back slightly in her seat, hazel hues upon Alejandro with a glint of curiosity in her eye.
Tumblr media
"You have me intrigued." She admitted, sipping the english breakfast tea. "Why would a lawyer of all people need to discuss things with me?" She asked, and although Amelia was well aware of who she was, and why people wanted to hire her; this didn't make much sense. It was then did she hear the banging of doors from upstairs and the sudden row of voices, it made Amelia roll her eyes a little, though the voices weren't in english, they were in Spanish. "Everyday this happens.." She sighed placing her mug down opening the front door sticking her head out, yelling in Spanish, mostly about how she was a police officer herself and could have them done for noise if they didn't shut up. The neighbours quietened down after that, she closed her front door again sitting herself back down. So it was true, she was multi-lingual too.

It wasn't her first time in the US, often she moved around city to city, coast to coast.. this was no different to any other time. Amelia had come back from her left after a small scout of the area, her neighbours weren't the most pleasant often hearing arguments most nights, though she could live with it, at least for now. She had her earbuds in, though her eyes went to the flat door. "Hang on Uncle, gotta go" She ended the call rather abruptly, hazel hues scanning the area. It wasn't like her to leave it unlocked.
Amelia removed the earbuds placing them back into the little charging device sticking them in her pocket along with her phone. Nothing seemed out of place, all apart from the door being left unlocked. She headed up the steps, opening the door to the flat, her hand upon the weapon in the back of her jeans in case she needed it. Slowly she opened the door, poking her head around, though seeing the man stood in her lounge, hazel hues scanned him. A lawyer, interesting.. "Amelia dear!" Her landlady stated, a rather irritating woman she had very quickly judged.
"who is-?" though the landlady gave a small wave of dismissal "This is Alejandro he's a-"
"A lawyer yes I know.. I can tell by his shoes" She deducted shutting the door behind her, throwing her keys down, removing the leather jacket to hang up by the front door. "So, tell me Alejandro, are you a client?" She asked giving a slight raise of her brow. "Because if not then you can kindly fuck off out of my flat, uninvited" charming as always. Though her landlady gave a roll of her eyes, it seemed she wasn't fond of the brit either "Miss Holmes! You will be nice to your guest" She scolded though it only made the young Holmes roll her eyes "But I didn't invite him, so he isn't my guest" She argued hazel eyes going back to the lawyer arms folding over her chest in a rather defensive stance.
"and you might be my landlady but you can't just waltz in here and invite people over" Clearly Amelia wasn't impressed, not the best first impression but the consulting detective hardly cared.
