“What if… I never moved to Tokyo?”

“Are you really asking that?”

You looked over at the man sitting next to you, “When will I ever get the chance to ask again?”

The man next to you looked at his gloved hands in his lap and smirked, “How am I supposed to know what would have happened?”

“It’s just that sometimes I imagine our life if I just stayed here.” You looked up at the night sky, “Don’t you ever wonder, Kei?”

“What’s the point of wondering?” Tsukishima sighed.

“The point doesn’t matter. It’s curiosity.” you replied.

“I haven’t really had the time to wonder. I’ve been busy with job interviews.” he shrugged.

You both watched your breath escape from both of your mouths as you talked. You gave a sorrowful smile, “Right.”

His cold response couldn’t help but make you feel so stupid. Things were over and done. They had been for awhile.

You were a year older than Tsukishima, and you both attended the same university. Your time together always left a great memory, but you felt otherwise about your time apart. After you graduated, you moved to Tokyo for a job, and Tsukishima was left behind to finish his last year in University. You wanted to try to keep the relationship going as a long distance, but Tsukishima wanted no part of it. That crushed you.

That’s when you found yourself on your winter break back in your hometown.You just wanted a breath of fresh air and decided to take a walk. It was a pure coincidence that Tsukishima decided to take his daily run at the same time. Because of that coincidence, you two ran into each other and ended up at a random park bench.

You don’t know what compelled you to ask that question. You were never really the confrontational type, but today the snow that blanketed Miyagi gave you a weird sense of comfort.

You tried to start up the conversation again, “So, how has volleyball been?”

“It’s been fine.” he quickly answered.

You chuckled, “I forgot how much of a conversationalist you weren’t.”

Despite the smile on your face, the conversation left you with more questions than you had before. If there was anything you wanted at that moment, you just did not want him to see the tears that were welling in your eyes. You stood up from the bench, “I’ll see you later, Kei. I hope you have a good year.”

He watched you stand up, and before you could take anymore steps, he said, “I’m moving to Tokyo for work.”

You looked back at him, and he continued, “When I get there, I’ll- I’ll call you. So, wait for me.”

You smiled and swallowed, “I’d really like that.”

bc of this he’d do everything and anything for his s/o

that being said, getting into arguments would literally be the worst, he wouldn’t listen and is so disagreeable getting into arguments would kinda be inevitable w this guy 

he likes to stand his ground about things and chances are his s/o would also

As you were on the train home, all you wanted to do was to take off your heels and lay down on your couch. However, you knew what awaited you at home was the same couch that you had to build for your new apartment.

Typically, your husband would help you with it, but he was traveling for one of his away games and would not be back until tomorrow night. Doing it by yourself was definitely doable, but it would just take twice as long. There was the option of leaving it until he came back to help you build it, but you wanted to build it for him.

When you finally reached your apartment from your commute, you grabbed your keys from your apartment and managed to unlock your door in one swift move. You took your shoes off and could not help but notice the extra pair of familiar men’s shoes sitting there. You hesitantly moved your way to the living room where the giant cardboard box should have been. But to your surprise, you saw your husband sitting… on the couch that you were supposed to have built for him. You called out to him, “Wakatoshi! You’re home early!”

He stood up from the couch and smiled at you, “I was able to get an earlier flight back.”

You ran into his arms, “How was your game?”

Ushijima lightly pecked you on the lips, “It was fine. We ended up winning.”

“Of course, you did.” you grinned, “I’m sorry that I couldn’t come this time around. That final project my boss needed done was way more work than I was expecting.”

You looked behind yourself and checked out the couch, “Speaking of expecting,” you pouted at your tall husband, “I wanted to build the couch for you.”

Wakatoshi looked at you with honest eyes, “Why? You’ve already had a tired day from work.”

You sat on the new couch and rubbed your hands on the new cushions, “But you had a tired week of games.”

Ushijima took a seat next to you, “I don’t mind building it.”

You leaned your head on his shoulder, “I know you don’t, but I just wanted to make your time just a little more easier.”

You suddenly stood up from the couch, “I’ll cook dinner for the both of us!”

“But I already did.” Ushijima raised a brow.

You looked into the kitchen and saw that not only was there food on the table, but the table was set. You groaned and made your way back to the living room, “What are you? Mr. Freaking Perfect?!”

Ushijima laughed, and you could feel your heart soften. You sat on his lap and leaned your head into his chest, “Next time, please, let me do something!”

He kissed you on the top of your head and smiled, “I’ll let you help me wash the dishes after we finish eating.”

i totally agree that like the universe works in crazy fukn ways dude! there’s are always times in my life when things are just really shitty like take a couple months ago for example when i went hiatus and like the time that i took a break from everything to just focus on me and like not really give myself time to run away from it, things really came up! but i also believe that good things are coming!
