Fam, this is it.

This is where our ways part... at least for now.

I'll be on a big hiatus, due to my disappointment with Yams and the overall ending of snk.

To all the lovely anonies who have been sitting and waiting in my ask box for my replies for way too long, I'm so sorry my lovelies, but I'm currently not in the right place to be talking about snk. And I don't want my salty and petty ass to cloud your opinions about it as well.

But I truly wanna thank all of you guys for always exchanging your thoughts with me and for being interested in my opinions and "metas" lol

Also a huge shout-out to everyone in this community and a big thank you for all the amazing fics, metas, arts, comics, analyzes, edits etc. I enjoyed reading all of them, they truly made my life happier ❤️

I might be back when the new season aires, I might even be back earlier, if I ever manage to get my shit about the ending together lol but I also might never come back. Who knows.

But it's okay, that's life. We move on, we part ways. The most import thing is to stay healthy and happy and that's a place I'm aspiring to be at in life.

As for Levihan, these dorks will forever have a big and important place in my heart ❤️ never will I love a relationship between 2 souls this much in my life. Never.

Hanjo, the queen of my heart, will forever be my all time favorite character, my comfort character, and I'll carry her with me, in my heart, until the day I die ❤️

It was a hell of a ride, but it was my pleasure and I'll miss every single lovely soul out here in this community ❤️

Why didn't Levi kiss Erwin after he chose to let Armin live, the titan curse could have been lifted right there. Erwin was a devil that was sending hundreds of new recruits to death, and Levi was a loyal Ackerman. Their bond is as strong as the bond between Eren and Mikasa. If Levi had kissed Erwin at that moment, then Ymir would be happy and finally let go of her love for the first king.

Yesss I completely agree with you, Hange was definitely a wasted potential past TS. And I think everyone will agree on that.

Okay this is probably a topic where people's opinions differ, but fair enough, I actually liked that part of the chapter and Levi's overall character conclusion. In a world, where people die without reaching their dreams and seeing them come true, Levi's conclusion was indeed bittersweet.

I was happy with that... Except for seeing Hanjo among the dead SC members, because it still feels so surreal for me accepting her death. I'm still trying to cope (obviously lol). Still trying to process what happened. But my heart fails to accept it. Everything I hoped and wished for in the last chapter was actually NOT seeing Hanjo among them. I swear, this panel will haunt me forever. It wasn't the right place for her. It wasn't the right time for her to join them. Ugh I could go on about that forever, but let's better stick to your question haha

Even though we knew Levi's actual goals all along (tho some shippers like to twist canon facts), Yams still showed us time and time again that Levi's only goal was to give meaning to his fallen comrades' deaths. And he did that. He proved they didn't die in vain. They didn't throw away their young lives for nothing. But the real question is: what did they actually fight for? For Humanity? For the world?

So to answer that let's go back in time before everything went downhill after the basement reveal lol The SC and all the people of Paradis didn't know shit about what's happening outside their island. They didn't even know there were humans living outside the walls. So to say the SC fought for all of humanity would kinda be wrong. Cause their definition of humanity was different back in the day. Humanity meant the people inside the walls. So if we look at things from this perspective, they indeed saved "humanity" aka the Subjects of Ymir on Paradis.

On the other hand, if the SC were still alive, we know they wouldn't have given up either. If Erwin, Mike & the others were still alive during the rumbling, we know they would have tried and given everything they had to stop it, even if it meant dying in that process. Just like Hange and Levi did. Because that was the real spirit of the SC.

I'm kinda getting off track rn haha

Back to Levi and his duty of proving his friends' lives had meaning. In ch 136 we've noticed Levi's fight with his inner demons. I felt like at that point, after losing everyone he ever loved and cared about, he didn't know what he was fighting for any longer. He lost the view of his own goals. But then he remembered.

He remembered his friends and the entire SC were never selfish. All they ever did was fighting for the greater good. They've always been naively dreaming of a free world. A world free of titans and free of fear. And that's exactly what Levi, Hange and the alliance achieved. They got rid of the titan curse once and for all. The promis of the SC, to annihilate all titans, was finally fulfilled. Unfortunately they couldn't save all of humanity... Eren already murdered 80% of the world's population, there wasn't a lot they could do anymore. But they still managed to break the titan curse once and for all. So yes, their deaths HAD meaning and Levi fulfilled his promis he gave to his comrades and friends. And they thanked him for it, one last time, in the classic SC way.

You might be onto something, my friend. I agree, it's still weird, even after we know that Eren is indeed capable of altering someone's memories.

But remember what Eren said to Armin? I quote from the last chapter "The Founder's Power has made it so that there's no past or future... It all exists at once" (btw isn't this a mistake? Wasn't the AT supposed to have this kind of power? Lol). So it might have been future Eren handling the past situations. Tbh this is quite a plot device which I'm not super satisfied with, but oh well...

But on the other hand, if it would have been a mistake on Yams' part, wouldn't he order Mappa to skip those panels in the anime? In fact they even enhanced this scene with the additional colors and cracking sound of Eren almost transforming.

I think everyone who's realized Hanjo's shard is in fact missing, has already realized it has to be from the missing CPR scene. Even the toxic antis know it, but they'll be denying it til their last breaths lmao

Dude... DUDE... The beast titan parallels... I can't cope with this betrayal I swear... It was there. All along. Yams had all cards in front of him, he just had to play them BUT HE FREAKING DUMPED THEM AND FOR WHAT?! And instead we got plot holes everywhere 🤦🏻‍♀️ y'all I already said it but imma say it again: our theories make more sense than Yams final arc lol just sayin'

Let's manifest Yams fucking finally explaining all these mysterious aspects around Hanjo, because we FUCKING DESERVE THAT! 🙏🏻

I'm so torn about my feelings towards Eren. I was never a huge fan of him tbh and I never accepted what he did, nor did I ever try to justify his actions and I'm so thankful Levi and Hange were always shown to be strictly anti-genocide and they didn't participate in the "thanking Eren charade" (yes I know this part can be interpreted differently, but no matter how you take it, it's just awful wording...just saying) but I do have to admit I always felt some kind of pity towards Eren. We all knew him. We knew he wasn't purely evil nor were his actions for some selfish "I wanna dominate the world" reasons (basically the usual antagonist shit). But honestly, I was even more disappointed with Eren in the last chapter. His very own reasons and justifications were just "idk man, I just wanted to do it lol" (yes I'm exaggerating I know) and that part devastated me.

Okay, so we know he apparently did it for Armin and Mikasa, for his friends and for Paradis. But something's still missing. What happened to the Eren who kneeled in front of Ramzi, ugly sobbing and saying he didn't wanna do all of this? What happened to that Eren?

Maybe it's because the last arc chapter was rushed af, maybe it's because I got too much invested into my own theories (I gotta admit that), but I sincerely hoped we'd see a different side of Eren. I really hoped during the talk with Armin he would have admitted that he was a slave to his own destiny and no matter how hard or how much he actually tried to change the future, it always led to the same scenarios he already saw coming. He couldn't prevent Sasha's or Hange's death, even if he tried to. So he made "peace" with those sacrifices in order to achieve his own goals.

Maybe Yams actually intended showing us exactly that... but I gotta admit it didn't feel like this at all. That's why I'm so disappointed with the last chapter. I don't know if it's only because of the goddamn wording or the pacing overall, but damn... I didn't expect this masterpiece of a story to end like this... So unsatisfying. At least for me.

Look anonie, even though I'm trash for Hange lol I gotta admit that whatever plan she might have had, it wouldn't have led to eternal peace either, because in fact, nothing will ever lead to this kind of utopia (and I love this part of the ending cause it's pretty accurate and realistic). But Hanjo's idea/plan might have bought them some more time. Time to invent more technology, to keep up with the rest of the world. Time to make more and bigger alliances with other countries. Idk. But it definitely wasn't useless, as Eren loved pointing out. Hah! I just remembered Eren disliking every single plan (except for his own) cause he kept saying it wouldn't bring them freedom or eternal peace. Well well, look how the turns have tabled lol. Not even his mass murdering horror plan brought them the peace or freedom they always wanted. Well Eren, you shouldn't have interfered in the world of adults, but instead let people with the brains make plans for the future.

I'M LIVING AND BREATHING FOR THIS LITTLE FAMILY ❤️😭

When they first met their baby, Levi was very scared to hold him. He's a children's book illustrator, so he knows how to be soft with his hands, and how to transmit safety through his fingertips, but, still, he finds that holding Udo for long periods of time is so difficult because he's just so afraid he might break.

That all changes when he sees the way Hanji holds the baby. From then on he was no longer afraid of his kid's sensibility, because a couple can't just have TWO PEOPLE THAT ARE UNABLE TO HOLD A CHILD.

Even before he was born and they adopted him, Levi was already dedicating all of his works to Udo. Every single one of his books from the past six years start with a page that says nothing but

To my strength; my Hanji and to my life; my Udo.

Hanji wanted to name him after one of their plants. Levi was PISSED 😭😭

"For the millionth time we're not naming our son 'abromeitiella brevifolia.'"

They adopted a cat to sharpen their care-taker skills. Levi hated it at first and thought the cat was messy and loud, but, very slowly, they started to open up to each other, and now Levi's lap is his favorite spot when they're watching tv. His name ranges from Sawney, to Bean, and to "little demon" when he kicks something.

Now THIS is the softest one: when Udo first arrived, he and Hanji just did not seem to click. He wanted Levi's arms at all times and cried whenever they were apart. But, one day, a few months after adopting Udo, Levi had an emergency at work and had to run to his office in the city.

"You'll be ok, won't you? I won't be long," he was breathing heavily through his nose, trying to calm his nerves because apparently somebody accidently spilt ink on all the new copies of his book.

"I will, of course, take your time!"

Levi nodded and opened the front door, running out with a muffled "I'll be back soon!"

Hanji watched him drive off with a smile. They didn't want to admit it, but something bubbled in their chest at the prospect of being alone with the baby for once. They weren't even crying! Did their 'Levi-dar' stop working, perhaps? Hanji smiled to themselves, closing the door and thinking that this would be the start of a new lif-

"WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"

Or maybe not.

They tried everything. Udo didn't want food, or sleep, or change his diapers, nothing. He just absolutely needed his father because clearly, Hanji wasn't good enough.

"What's wrong, hm?" They whispered softly through the sound of crying, their arms holding Udo very gently and rocking him up and down slowly, but his mood didn't soften. "Is it me?"

They looked at the clock on the wall. Levi obviously had more work than he expected. They went to the couch and sat down, Udo still sniffling in their arms. They turned on the TV in hopes that the noise would soothe him a little bit. Surprisingly, it did.

A documentary about fish, or something. Hanji can't remember very well, because at that moment they were too busy looking down at Udo's face. He wasn't crying, wasn't pouting, was just listening intently to the TV with his eyes closed. Hanji's heart raced. They changed the channel and put on a kid's one, thinking it'd be more interesting for him, but Udo just started crying again.

"Ah...." They sighed, putting back on the documentary. "So you're a little nerd like me, huh?"

Levi raced home, expecting the worst. His mind was filled to the brim with images of Hanji and Udo and terrible disasters, because this was the first time they were alone together and he didn't know what to think. When he opened the front door, the house was silent.

Oh no. They both died.

He didn't even bother to close the door or take off his shoes, because he heard something and it was the TV, and he recognized the sound of one of Hanji's favorite documentaries, one he hated because of how much he was forced to watch it.

Oh no. Died watching fucking fish documentary.

His heart was racing and he could feel tears in the corners of his eyes. He went straight to the living room, and almost passed out. They were there.

"....You're alive."

Hanji scoffed, faking anger "Of course I am. Have you got no faith in me, Ackerman?"

Levi sighed in relief. They were as goofy as ever, that was good too. He walked to the couch, and sat down.

"Hm, maybe I don't."

Hanji just smiled, and watched Levi caress Udo's face with his pinky. The baby stirred, but didn't wake. Levi's eyes went back to Hanji's, and he smiled wider.

"Leviiii...!! He likes me..!!"

He scoffed, and caressed their hair. "Of course he does." He kissed their temple, and adjusted himself on the couch. He'd seriously have to work on Udo's taste in entertainment, though. His hand held Hanji's shoulder and he squeezed.

"Who wouldn't?"

Hello lovely anonie ❤️ I'm so sorry for the late reply, but life has been quite a rollercoaster lately haha

Well tbh, I know this sounds pathetic af after almost two weeks have already passed, but I'm still trying to cope with the last chapter and the ending overall. I'm in the process of gathering my thoughts, deciding if I like it or not. And lemme tell you, it's quite exhausting haha

Every Hange-stan is very much appreciated and welcome here ❤️ looking forward to be exchanging my thoughts with you, ngl it's weird but it also makes me happy that someone's interested in my opinion haha ❤️

Okay so let's start talking but Hanjo ❤️ but beware, a long ass wannabe meta is ahead of y'all haha

Honestly, another thing I've had troubles with accepting and making my mind around was the fact that I didn't like how Yams treated Hanjo in the story overall and mostly past TS. I gotta tag lovely Sav @tundrainafrica cause she described it perfectly in one of her amazing metas and I'm constantly thinking about that so I'm gonna try quoting her now haha :"If the characters are Yams' children, we gotta accept the fact that Hange has always been his least favorite child. But the more Yams ignored her, the more we loved her. In fact, Hange was never a character who even needed a lot of panels or pushing and forcing for us to like her. Hange didn't even need Yams! She was always navigating the narrative by herself and that's why we love her." (Sorry Sav for not quoting you properly 😅❤️)

So what I'm trying to say is: did Yams purposly ignore Hanjo throughout the story? Unfortunately YES. Has this affected her character? Not at all. But it did affect the readers'/viewers' opinion about her, for sure.

It honestly makes me really sad when people hate on Hange and reduce her character to a "bad commander". Like guys... Are we reading the same manga? You don't need to be a Hange stan to realize how much Yams rushed and skipped everything past Marley arc. We know shit about what happened in those 4 years of TS. Just because Yams didn't show us anything, doesn't mean nothing happened in those 4 years. I'm not gonna start talking about how her job as a commander was very, VERY different than Erwin's, but there was something that caught my attention after watching the anime:

I never believed Yams when he tried to show us how Hange was a "bad commander" for not having a plan B to all the mess that was going on. No matter how much Yams tried to prove it (mainly because he wanted us to notice her insecurities and her being overwhelmed by this position and Erwin's legacy), I never bought it. Because we know Hanjo ffs! We know how smart and quick-witted she is and how she is the perfect candidate to take over Erwin's legacy of being the SC's Danchou.

The anime reassured my thoughts, cause if I remember it properly, in that scene we heard Hange's thoughts and at the end of her monologue she said "but what if..." before Eren threw a tantrum again lol

The next scene only added fuel to my fire, cause we've all been speculating about this and the last two chapters actually proved it:

We've been speculating about why Eren was getting his titans marks in this particular scene (dude, Yams made us look like clowns with our theories lmao which btw have less plot holes than the entire last arc of the manga, just saying). Moreover we've seen Eren getting his titan marks again while manipulating his friends' memories in ch138&139. So my conclusion is, Hange DID indeed have a plan B, but Eren decided to wipe that option out of her head in order to achieve his goals. Otherwise this particular scene makes no sense at all, but it was important enough to keep it in the anime.

In conclusion: I did absolutely NOT like how Yams handled Hange's character post TS. She didn't get enough "screen time" and whenever she got some panels, she was mainly shown as an insecure and overwhelmed commander (obviously not in all of her panels, thank God), which she absolutely was NOT. I also felt like most of the times she seemed to be (for Yams at least) just a placeholder between Erwin and Armin. And here comes my biased and petty ass: Hanjo was Yams' best written character. Period. She had so much depth and and potential, but Yams dropped her like a hot potato because he was overwhelmed by her and not able to deal with her character. That's it. That's the harsh truth y'all.
