Top 9 of 2023. I totally forgot I posted so many doodles at the beginning of the year lol. I seem to have gotten a bit of my groove back the last few months. I think playing with other folks patterns definitely helps, I can focus more on the creative bits and less on the technical parts. Not to mention giving me new perspective on how to approach my own pattern making.

I have tentative plans to finally roll out my pattern updates; as well as plans for releasing new patterns. I would very much like to move off of etsy and onto an alternative site so I've been looking into that. Maybe kofi. Here's to staying motivated in the new year! 🎉🎉🎉

Playing around with this witch hat pattern by FandomVintageShop on etsy. It actually calls for raffia; which I was too impatient to get my hands on lol.

1st attempt (2nd slide) I followed the pattern with the recommended F hook size and worsted weight and ended up with a very tiny hat. 😅

2nd attempt I doubled the worsted weight and bumped up to a K hook. Also crocheted around some acrylic tubing to reinforce the brim. Very promising! Working on a 3rd and we'll see how it goes.

I'm really pleased with how this spider came out. First time really experimenting with acrylic paint, though this was just a dry brush. I think it adds a lot of dimension to an otherwise flat color. My sister thinks he needs something written in his web like Charlotte's web, any suggestions?

These are untested and bare bones, use at your own peril lol. The irises are needle felted, but shouldn't be too hard to replicate. I also only tacked them down in the inside corners so they would stick out like the original image.

More 2014 art. These were from the 30 Day Magical Girl Challenge. I had them all sketched out but lost steam rendering them at 5 lol. For as janky as Inkscape was to work with then I think they turned out fairly well. First up: Generic magical girl! ❤

I've posted these before but I've tweaked them a little so they're all standard sizes and read better on the screen.
