Grace never posted a screenshot, exposed anyone or any name. u want to make us believe she is r acist, targeting poc or doxxing. it never happened. if it is the case, please show me evidences since apparently you have screenshots?
the truth: she just posted on tumblr an indirect quote from twitter without doxxing or using name, becaus she was called β€œregular smegular” and she made fun of the insult. here :
Tumblr media
(for context, woki is her cat)
and it annoyed people on twitter for her to defend herself in a funny way.
SO PLEASE, TELL ME HOW IT IS R ACIST?!!
apparently, it okay to hara ss and slander someone during two months (calling her P 3do, a nepo baby + D 3ath & R ap3 threat) but the moment she dares to reply, she is disgusting? she didn't even insult the person except saying that their insults are basic. no no no. this fandom is disgusting.
and particularly you @ rosesvioletshardy

β€œCome, gentle night; come, loving, black-browed night; Give me my Romeo; and, when I shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, And he will make the face of heaven so fine That all the world will be in love with night…” ― William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet-

Eddie = DANTE
Dustin = VIRGILE
Chrissy = BEATRICE
as promised here the (very long) essay explaining the parallels between these 3 characters in dante’s THE DIVINE COMEDY // in STRANGER THINGS
Tumblr media
note: remind that i'm a non-native speaker so my english can be clumsy & i read The Divine Comedy once, many years ago *take it with a grain of salt*
LET'S THE FUN BEGINS ⬇️ ⬇️
first thing first, what is the The Divine Comedy? A epic poem that tells of Dante's journey through the three realms of the dead: Hell, Purgatory, and Paradise. The Roman poet Virgil guides him through Hell and Purgatory; Beatrice, Dante's ideal woman, guides him through Heaven.
VIRGIL // DUSTIN
Tumblr media
The poet Virgil was a Roman poet. He previously considered a career in rhetoric and law, for his talent to play with words, but used it to poetry. When it comes to Dustin, his voice and words are sometimes perceived as sarcastic or rethoric (with "his tone") and can be seen as a free spirit with great intelligence.
In the Divine Comedy, Virgil is depicted as a "Pure spirit" and is tasked to guide Dante through Hell and Purgatory. As an unbaptized having led a good life on Earth, he was given a place among the Virtuous Pagans in the Hall of Kings within the circle of Limbo. Virgil is wise and brotherly, and serves as a knowledgeable guide and a model of human reason and wisdom.
Very protective of Dante and how Dante will react traveling through the different circles of hell, he offers guidance and advisies him about the purpose of each circle. Yet, at times, Virgil can reprimand Dante for his empathy, reminding he that the dammed souls in Hell are here for punishment, and that their punishment is the design of a larger plan, that he must not to interfere. Virgil's great task is to get Dante to harden his heart against the most horribly damned shades in Hell.
In ST, Eddie is the one very protective over Dustin, but their relationship is not unbalanced, they both need the help of each other. Particularly at the beginning of the season when Dustin is the one believing in Eddie's innocence, the one who decided to protect him and fight for him where everybody was thinking he was guilty of cChrissy's death. And of course, when they both went to the upside-down (a clear metaphor of some sort of 'Hell'), they fight side by side, Dustin helping to secure the trailer and countdowning Eddie's concert to attract the bats.
DANTE // EDDIE
Tumblr media
Now for Dante, in the Divine Comedy, he is a Florentine poet who has lost his way in life spiritually and literally. By the intercession of God, he is allowed to walk through the afterlife. In ST, Eddie is a young musician seen as a lost cause by Hawkins
Dante appears to be a man of passionately held and strong opinions. Although he feels deeply for the misfortunes of many of the damned souls in Hell, he can also show himself to be merciless, as in his relationship with native city, Florence. Indeed, even if strongly bound to the city, Dante roundly condemns Florentines for their unpeaceful ways, and sometimes seems to consider the city irretrievably corrupted.
This can be seen as a parallel of Eddie and his relationship with Hawkins. He sees its inhabitants, and the students in highschool, as sheeps following conformity and rules. In his speech in the cafetaria, he condemns their views and their ways.
Dante is often frightened by what he sees in Hell, but Virgil's words give him courage, and he admires his guide very much. Just as Eddie admires Dustin and his free spirit ("never change Dustin Henderson")
As he travels through these dreadful regions, he displays a variety of emotions ranging from pleasure, to pity, to horror, even to pride. For example, at the time of his journey, Dante confronts the great classical writers whose greatness has survived the measure of time. He expresses awe merely to be in the presence of such greatness, and when the greatest poets of all time invite him to join them, this is a compliment of such high caliber that Dante's pride is heightened immeasurably.
dante is a an knowing his value and worse - just like Eddie knows he is much more than the labels he carries, and proves his talent in the upside-down by playing a epic song from one of the greatest bands at the very end of his journey.
BEATRICE // CHRISSY
Tumblr media
In the fictious Divine Comedy, Beatrice is one of the most beautiful and virtuous women to ever live, and is enthroned in death by the side of the Virgin Mary in Heaven. Β
In real life, Dante met Beatrice Portinari when he was 10 &she was 9 in Florence and felt immedialetly captivated. For the next 9 years he remained besotted with her but only from a distance. 8 years later, he saw her walking in a street. Beatrice greeted him & they talked together. The encounter filled him with such joy that he retreated to his room to think of her.
These small encounters, and yet both of them living in the same city, are similar to Eddie & Chrissy, both lving in the same place but evolving in differents circles. The same can be said with the crush Eddie visibly had on Chrissie, and how Dante was smitten with beautiful Beatrice.
IRL, at the age of 21 Dante was married off to Gemma Donati, to whom he had been betroted since the age of 12 & Beatrice married a year later. Three years later, Beatrice diedd, at the tender age of 24. Dante was devastated. He remained devoted to the memory of Beatrice for the rest of his life and she continued to influence his work. He vowed to write a poem to honor the glorious lady of his mind that has never been written of any woman.
The beautiful young woman he was besotted by, who died too quickly before anything could have happened and who haunts his decisions and works, is exactly what happened with Chrissy's death and its impact on Eddie's arch ("Chrissy, this is for you").
Dante fulfilled this promise 27 years later just before his death, when he finished The Divine Comedy (La Divina Commedia- 1321)β€” the greatest love poem about the soul’s ascent from Inferno to Purgatory to Paradise.
In the poem, Beatrice dies early in life so Dante goes searching for her in Heaven. She is depicted as the incarnation of true love, the Beatific vision in Paradise but appears very little in the Inferno. The fictional Beatrice is a blessed spirit in heaven, who watches over Dante and appears as his guardian angel, though not after berating Dante for forgetting her. She is the one who sends Virgil and asks him to guide Dante. She represents all the virtues, and Dante's struggle to reach her mirrors his struggle to reach God.
Eddie' struggle to wipe off his guilt for Chrissy's death is what motives him all along his journey. He eventually finds peace in death in the upside-down, Dustin by his side, and we can imagine that he will see Chrissy again in some kind of 'after-life' (Heaven). Just like in The Divine Comedy - Dante joining Beatrice after Virgile helped him to fulfill his journey through Hell.
