3) The star Reversed- the light that I am hiding will bloom next
4) King of cups Reversed- as the changes occur, I need to honor them by not having emotional disconnects.
5)The Hermit Reversed- I need to release the distraction of others and focus on myself.

Review: Astro-charts.com
Tumblr media
If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that I’m something of an astro.com evangelist when it comes to getting astrology charts. @sewceress recently introduced me to astro-charts.com, a really great resource for getting and interpreting birth charts.
Why This Site Is Awesome
When you look up a chart, the site lists all of the major aspects between planets, and includes info about orbs (how closely the planets are related to each other), so you can judge for yourself which aspects to consider.
Tumblr media
It points out chart patterns and names them, so you can research what each of the different shapes means.
Tumblr media
And it points out special features of the chart, so you can focus on the things that make the chart unique.
Tumblr media
I’ve been studying astrology seriously for seven years, and astro-charts.com pointed out things in my chart that I hadn’t really thought about before.
So, thank you, @sewceress for sharing this awesome resource. I will definitely be using it in the future.

My children are upstairs yelling at each other about classical art.
Squeeker: Leonardo DaVinci is a master painter. Probably the best ever.
Moon child: whatever, he just painted like, naked people and stuff. We all know what people look like. BOB ROSS CHANGED LIVES!
Squeeker: that's not even classical art!
Starr baby: he's from the seventies or something... That's OOOOOOLD.
Squeeker - 12yo
Moon child - 13yo
Starr baby - 9yo. 😂😂😂

My most remembered meditation.
This was about twelve years ago. I struggle with meditation because I fall out of practice, and honestly I end up falling sleep most the time. Blame it on chronic insomnia, four kids with of exhaustion, and actually getting a moment of peace and quiet. Anyway I was in a real constant practice then. I never really had a connected experience before this, though the quieting of my mind for even five minutes was amazing. Then one day, half way between sleep and awake I had the most vivid experience. I was doing a forest walk meditation and it if no where I could feel the sun on my face and this giant elm tree did before me. then the tree turned right to me, limbs became arms and the goddess formed herself from the bark. Reaching out to me about on her face. While a white stag came out from behind her trunk. It was like every bit of me aligned itself into a whole. No pain or exhaustion anywhere in my body. And then she laughed like she found something so very funny. Then I was smacked clean in the face by a sippy cup. Because no toddler will be denied Apple juice when they want it.
The realest part to me wasn't even the feeling of being whole, because as a person who's always felt like I've never had enough sleep and always had something hurting, that was honestly transcendent. The thing that really proceed to me this wasn't a dream was her laughter. The kind you get from watching those videos of animals being totally uncoordinated. She saw that sippy cup coming. That she knows my life is chaos and kids, and that she's still here for me waiting for those in between moments to reach out. I only need to look for her. Because she also knows that no toddler will wait for Apple juice, even for her. 😉
This honestly bolstered me in a time where I felt like I was coming apart at the seams for a long, long time.

Virgo Witch◞*✰
Our next witch is here!
The ones born between the August 23 and the September 22 are under the sign of Virgo. Virgos belong to the Earth element of the zodiac and just as their element, they are strong and reliable. They love their freedom and work hard to get their goals. In the witchy aspect, they may want everything to work how they want so divination practices may be a bit frustrating for them.  Always wanting more knowledge , Virgos will spend hours reading and practicing  spells. Even tho they usually get related to organization, this only applies in the things they like.  You can always count on your virgo witchy friend to be there for you! ◞*✰
Any Virgos here?

Just an opinionated observation, but I'm really struggling to find new areas of study as a long time practitioner. Also a decent place for new study. I'm NOT saying I know everything, or even know half of the things I could be looking into. It's more that 99% of the content it there seems more directed towards new witches. And while I love seeing people's spells and crafting, because I feel there's always something new to be found in the ways the craft has changed over the years, it's not much of a dip into the more in depth side of things. I don't know if this is because it's such a personal thing that one really has to find on your own, or that new witchy stuff just gets more views so that's what people are putting out. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but I would love to see more people talk about their in depth worship. Their day to day magical lives. Personal experiences, and just more of the religious side of their path than how to things.
Again this is just my restless opinion. If I'm wrong and your finding these gems please let me know. 😀
So anyone want to link their non newbie content, books they have found, or anything interesting?

6 Alternative Altar Inspirations for Witches that are Bored of Altar Tables
No matter what path you follow as in witchcraft are, chances are you have some sort of sacred space. If you are a witch whose practice is part of your religious beliefs, this might be a place to communicate with your deities. If you work with spirits, this could be a place where honor your ancestors. Non-religious witches like myself often use altars as a space where they can connect with their magical and spiritual sides. Even though we all share this desire to have a place all our own dedicated to our craft.
That doesn’t mean we all need the same type of space. Whether you are a new witch who can’t show off your craft publicly (we’ve all been there) or just a witch who isn’t really into the more standard altar table setup, there are plenty of options for customizing and creating an altar space that meets your needs.
Window Altars
Tumblr media
One easy way to create an altar is to take up a windowsill. Depending on the arrangement of the room you’re using, your personal preference, and the space available, the size of this type of altar varies.
This generally small altar space can be good for witches in the broom closet and green witches who like to keep their altars populated with plant friends. Because it is literally a window to the outside, these altars are also great places for charging things like crystals, spells, and water under the light of the moon.
Benefits:
Good for altars that are heavily planted (hello, sunlight!)
Generally discreet
Keeps your altar space contained (for all us witches that do not know when to quit)
Garden Altars
Tumblr media
While pretty much any altar can include plants, there is something else to say for an altar that is almost completely plants. If you have some space indoors, why not design a witch’s garden that doubles as an altar space?
A small tray planted with succulents with offering bowls and candle dishes set into the soil and crystals scattered around can be a unique, and even moveable altar! You could also use potted plants so that you can change the arrangement or plants out whenever you need a refresh.
Benefits:
Deeply connected to nature and the earth
Pluck herbs for spells right off your altar
Generally pretty moveable
Bath Altars
Tumblr media
If you love bath magic as much as I do, you’re a water witch, or your bathroom is one of your most sacred places (self-care anyone?), a bath altar could be the perfect thing to give your craft a physical home.
We’ve all seen those pictures of wooden tray tables for baths surrounded by eucalyptus and candles. Add a statue of your deity (or a symbol of something important to your craft), some crystals (check how your crystals are affected by water and humidity first!), and some jars of your favorite things to mix into bath spells, and your bath altar is set.
Benefits:
The perfect place to combine witchcraft and self-care
Perfect for witches that incoroporate the water element in their craft a lot
Magic really does belong in every room in the house
Travel Altars
Tumblr media
If you tend to practice on a whim rather than waiting to be in a specific place or if you need to be able to stash your altar quickly, a travel altar is perfect. These altars can be fit into matchboxes, Altoids tins, jewelry boxes, and even hollowed out books! If you can carry it with you and find supplies small enough to fit, anything goes. (I’ve even seen locket altars!)
Some witches will create multiple travel altars for different purposes or focuses, but don’t feel like you need to collect them if that’s not your thing.
Benefits:
Small and discreet, it’s hard to make a mess with these
Very customizable (and easy to have multiples of!)
Perfect for witches in the broom closet
Virtual Altars
Tumblr media
Tech witches, I haven’t forgotten you. If you’ve been following me for a bit, then you might know that I threw out the idea a while ago about a altar lockscreen/wallpaper for your phone/tablet/etc. Now that I’ve talked to some tech witches, I know this is actually a pretty sound idea!
Whether you commision an artist or design one yourself, a lock screen wallpaper for an electronic device (you could even go as big as a laptop with a touch screen!) could make the perfect altar for a tech witch. Even if you decide not to use it as a wallpaper, designing an image that serves as an altar and opening it in GIMP or Photoshop where you can create additional layers for placing other virtual elements could be useful.
Benefits:
Travel friendly
Can be synced across devices, so your altar is always with you
Easy to change and “redecorate” throughout the year
Paper Altars
Tumblr media
(This incredible paper altar was created by Stella Witchcraft! Please click here to check out their full post and their blog!)
Similar to a virtual altar, a paper altar is a portable, customizable altar. Many witches choose to include paper altar setups in their grimoires, but there’s nothing stopping you from making larger paper altars with poster paper that can be rolled up and stored away.
If paper altars are attractive to you, don’t be deterred if you aren’t an artist! Minimalism in paper altars is perfectly fine. You can always outline your altar with symbols or even words alone. If you’re happy with it, it is perfect. You don’t have to meet any requirements for aesthetic or any other witch’s expectations.
There you have it! Of course, there are so many more types of altars, and even table altars can be created to fit your own personal needs. If you’re attracted to more than one of these, why not try combining the elements that call to you to make something entirely your own? The possibilities are endless.

In typical me fashion, I planned about fifteen cook witchy things to do today, on to of the handful of mundane crap I have to do. knowing full well I've been down to about -15 spoons. Shocker I got almost nothing done. Or so I thought. My day went as so...
Kids dressed And ready.
Breakfast and lunches made.
Kids taken to school and medicine picked up.
Dishes.
I ate lunch! WITH A VEGETABLE AND A FRUIT!!!
played a bit if eso (because eso is life)
Retired to read my pagan book... Ended up falling asleep.
Laundry... So much laundry.
Cleaned my kitchen, that was a right mess.
Cooked healing soup with my kids. Enchanted each ingredient, and let my kid make a wish in the bay leaf.
FOLDED all that damn laundry.
Then laid down for some much needed tv time.
So when I list it all like this, even if I didn't do all the things I wanted to get done today, I did the things that mattered.

How I make spellcandles
Tumblr media
I was making a spell candle for the Imbolc ritual I’m hosting for the coven tomorrow and figured: why not turn it into a little tutorial? So here is my version of the spell candles!
Tumblr media
What you need: (note: I made a candle for creativity and inspiration, so everything matches that goal. Change herbs, colours and stones to match any goal you want/need!)
🕯 a base candle, either white or a colour that works for your goal
🕯 through-and-though coloured candles for dripping in colours that match your goal. I usually use two or three, in this case yellow for happiness and inspiration and orange for creativity
🕯 herbs, I used basil (creativity), rose (passion/motivation), mistletoe (fertility for ideas) and mugwort (creativity)
🕯 small stone chips, I used aventurine, citrine and burnt amethyst (all for creativity)
🕯 oils, I used jasmine (creativity)
🕯 ribbon and charm (optional, but pretty!)
🕯 baking paper to protect your work surface
Tumblr media
Start with carving some words or symbols into the candle. Today I used a bindrune for creativity, the runes kenaz (inner fire), wunjo (happiness) and gebo (gift).
Tumblr media
Now drip the first colour. Make sure to first go around the edges for the pretty drips and then fill in the top.
Tumblr media
Next are the herbs, stones and oil. Simply sprinkle them on top and arrange the bigger pieces so they are spread out a bit. Press the stones gently down into the still soft wax for sturdyness.
Tumblr media
Drip the last colour, making sure to set but not drown the herbs, and tadaa! One pretty spellcandle! But wait, there’s more!
Tumblr media
Tie the ribbon around the candle with one knot.
Tumblr media
Slide on your charm and knot again, fitting it snuggly against the candle.
Tumblr media
Make a pretty bow and trim the ends, and you’re done!
Burn it during your spell (note: remove the ribbon before it catches and reuse it!), place it on your altar or even make them to give away as gifts!
Also, feel free to tag me if you make one with the tutorial, I’d love to see them! 🌙

Ran the Goddess of the Deep Sea. This Norse Goddess (also known as the Lady of the Sea) is the old namesake for the area of Sweden I was born in, Ranrike (basically The Land of Ran), nowadays known as Bohuslän. Its the west coast of Sweden. Beautiful country.
Made with markers and multiliners.
Any racist blog who try to use Norse mythology as some kind of “aryan purity” bullshit can fuck all the way off. Thank you.
Also today is my birthday! Yay!
