#this will make little sense to anyone who is not in laboratory medicine #but i had a doctor call and DEMAND that i put a kirby-bauer disc onto a primary urine culture to ''get a head start on the sensitivities'' #he argued that i should do that because they already knew what the patient had and just needed the sensitivity of a specific antibiotic #when i tried to explain to him that sensitivity is a quantitative measurement that requires a pure culture of a known CFU he got very angry #basically called me stupid repeatedly and demanded to talk to my manager...who told him exactly the same thing :) #i've heard a LOT of stupid shit from doctors but i still think that one is the most incredible #i also had a nurse call me and ask me what an indeterminate result means on a c. diff antigen test #i read out the explanation that IS LITERALLY PART OF THE REPORT and she was like ''i don't get it'' #took me rephrasing it like four different ways before she gave up trying to understand and hung up on me in frustration. like ok bish #anyway #reblog bait

Like every five to twenty years the medical/dietary experts are forced to admit "So yeah okay the stuff we've been telling you all this time was a complete and total lie that someone just outright paid us to tell. But you still have to believe everything else we're saying because if you don't you're an anti-science moron."

so why does tumblr sometimes show the URL of who is being reblogged from and sometimes it doesn't? is it a user privacy setting? a shadowban thing? what's with it?

OKAY so the LAST reblog i just did from @neurotic-nihilist, for me at least it does not tell me who i reblogged it from on my own dashboard, even though the notification for the reblog w/ comment showed up in my activity, which means that's NOT a shadowban, because if it were a shadowban i wouldn't have gotten the notification. so... i'm confused
