Starting February 1, 2021, Heartsong Creations will be offering Seasonal Surprise Boxes for sale, alongside our year round Birthday Surprise Boxes.
These are boxes that are intended to be given as gifts, though of course you can buy them for yourself. There will be four seasonal boxes available, each one with 3-4 variations. Each one will come with a journal, keychain, wax melts, card, season specific gift, and bonus trinket gifts (which may be small toys or store bought candies). Depending on the variation that you choose, you may get extras of certain items.
The Birthday and Seasonal Surprise Boxes are a prelude to a project that we’ve been working on for a few years. This year is our test run, and we’re extremely hopeful for it.
We’ll be posting more about this throughout the week. All the items in the surprise boxes will be made available individually in the Etsy shop as well.

Happy New Year Everyone!
Hello and welcome to a new year! I’ve been working hard for the past two months to make this year a truly amazing experience for all of my Patrons, followers, customers, and other supporters, and I really do believe we’ve worked out the perfect system this time.
This month, we’ll be revisiting The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. That’s right, we’re revisiting a project that we barely touched last year! This time around, I’ve done as much work as I could manage ahead of time, so things are looking a lot better as far as completing all of the monthly projects!
There are two major projects this month. The first is the Alchemist’s Journal, which I introduced as a concept last year, but struggled to finish. This year, patrons will get to see the creation process of 109 ingredient pages, and the binding of this labor intensive book. The second project is my own version of Herbane’s Bestiary, which will cover all 24 of Skyrim’s wild predators.
Patrons will obviously get the more in depth, behind the scenes, detailed content, but if you’re not ready to commit yet, I’ll be working hard to coordinate across all of my platforms and cross-posting whenever possible.
Patrons will also get to see some Skyrim themed pins, stickers, and charms this month. Some of these will be available for purchase later on, but I’m being very careful not to step on any toes as far as intellectual property goes. The posts on Patreon are very heavily focused on “inspired by”, though I will also be writing up theories and commentary.
I hope that your new year is starting off in amazing and thrilling ways, and that all of my followers in the midst of turbulent times are staying safe and healthy wherever possible. Have a great day, and I’ll see you again soon!

Handmade Paper Review
Tumblr media
Buy it here!
★ ★ ★ ★ ★
I’ve been eyeballing Wanderers Way’s paper for a few months, but could never justify buying it. Now that I have active projects and products running that involve journal making, I thought now would be the perfect time to give it a try.
This paper is extremely soft, almost like fabric. It’s very heavily textured, which means that certain inks and paints will bleed on it, but that’s not a huge problem. Ball-point pens and pencils will still work just fine, and the fineliners most planner buffs use only have minimal bleed, if any. Looking at it from the side, the deckled edges give the paper an almost cloud-like appearance, and the small yellow flowers pressed into the pages only enhance the whimsical, natural feel of this paper. I absolutely love it, and I fully endorse it. I intend to buy more of this paper moving forward.

Holiday wax melts as part of holiday packages to the shop’s supporters and patrons. I’m very proud of how far the shop has come this year in spite of everything. We may not be where we want to be yet, but we’re closer than we were in January.
Keep an eye out for our fanwork projects coming in 2021. No fanwork will be in the shop, but we use fan projects to test out new techniques and materials before using them on paid for projects, and we have several planned for the coming year.
Patrons are a huge part of funding these experiments and fun projects, so please consider becoming a patron. We’ll be updating the Patreon page over the next few weeks to prepare for January.

I miss making ceramics, honestly. I don’t know if I would have ever offered them in the shop, but it was so relaxing.

In light of my most recent printables, which were very Thanksgiving-centric, I felt it prudent to share these resources. I’ve double checked all the links and they all work, so please look through them and consider donating if you’re able.
thanksgiving is a holiday based on a falsified narrative full of white guilt and the erasure of history so what are some good native organizations to donate to this coming thursday

This year, Thanksgiving falls on November 26. The day after, the 27, is Native American Heritage Day.
I designed this word search with both days in mind, though the page itself specifically refers to Thanksgiving. When I was growing up, no one told me the truth about Thanksgiving - but no one really told me the lies either. All I knew about Thanksgiving was that it was a family holiday for everyone to get together, talk about the things that went well that year, and exchange well wishes for the coming year.
The vocabulary in this word search mixes fun fall references with cultural key words. Kids can do the activity just for fun, or if you feel that it’s age appropriate, you can use it as part of a history or cultural lesson plan. Please keep in mind however that I am not Native American, nor am I an expert in this topic, so this is best used with actual Native source material.
You can download this page as a PDF here.

Redbubble
Some of my artwork is available here on Redbubble. I’m not a huge fan of the site, as trying to get any sort of profit margin for the artist does tend to overinflate the price, but it is a good way to get a look at how certain artwork may look on a product.
I would love to hear feedback from followers and potential customers about the products available on Redbubble. What do you guys think works? What doesn’t? At the very least, I plan to make my own pins and stickers in the future, so this is a good way to get a head start on that for me.

What are you grateful for this year? Share your thoughts with this simple gratitude worksheet.
This worksheet is primarily intended for children who might be learning about gratitude and giving thanks. If you’re teaching your kids at home, feel free to use this worksheet as a part of your lesson plan, or just to give to your kids to get them thinking.
Anyone of any age can use this, of course. This is a 100% free page from the Heartsong Creations Children’s Worksheets series. If you want a PDF copy, you can get it here.

I’ve made a Thanksgiving Menu/Meal Plan available as a printable on the Heartsong Creations Etsy today!
This year has been extremely stressful for everyone, and Heartsong Creations has put much more focus on printables than the crafts and original art that the shop was originally made for. Shipping has been heavily delayed in many areas, and especially early on this year, many Etsy shops suffered huge declines in sales when everyone was afraid to order anything from home-run businesses. While this was perfectly understandable, it was a blow to many shop owners who, until then, had been reliant on their shops as their primary income.
COVID-19 hit right after my fiance and I moved from one state to another, and so I had no chance to find a new job before everything shut down. I had to make Etsy my primary focus, because I live with someone who is immunocompromised, and I myself have breathing problems at the best of times. Even once positions began to open up again, I had to put my family’s health first.
I’ve been having some moderate success with the printables, and physical orders have been coming in now and then, so for the holiday season I am pushing up my productivity to get as many products out as possible, and hopefully make as many sales as possible to get a head start on the new year.
If you like what you see here on this blog, please consider giving the Etsy shop a frequent browse over the next two months. All printables are available for only $2 each, and I frequently bundle sets of 5 or more together for only $5.
To all those who have shown support for Heartsong Creations during these hard times, thank you so much!

Self Care Bingo for your planner! I have two versions of this available on Etsy, this version, and a blank version you can fill in yourself. Both versions are available in 3 sizes, based on the commercial Happy Planner ®, but they’ll work for any ring or disc bound planner system. Both versions cost $2.00 for the digital file so you can print as many as you want! Please keep in mind though that these worksheets are for personal and/or educational use only.
This printable was mainly designed for a younger audience who might struggle with depression, anxiety, and/or executive dysfunction caused by a disorder. I wanted to approach self care in a fun way to encourage learning about it, and learning to recognize different forms of self care. I have a full series that will be available, made up of fun worksheets, informational printouts, and serious worksheets.
If you have any suggestions for worksheets or games, please feel free to drop an ask.

Posting up some of my older work before I start adding in the newer stuff. This was done in 2017, acrylic paint on canvas. Part of a dragon series that ended up being lost after I went to the hospital, but I may revisit the series at a later date.
