This is exactly how I felt when I accidentally started to watch the show with no prior context.

It’s amazing feeling to just watch something bc you like the plot and then out of sudden everything is gay. And this works specifically bc the show doesn’t focus on one specific queer person and bc of that they don’t need to monitor and gatekeep their every action. So I can see bad people gaying their way around without constant thought of “Oh, so we have only one bi person for the whole 20 seasons of the show’s run and they are cheater?????”

And, honestly, horror has been my comfort genre for a long, long time. Since I was 10 yo, if I remember correctly.

… I’ll definetely sound controversial but the only show I was able to fully relate to since I came out was freaking Heathers remake. Like, yeah, it was cringe and probably really mean-spirited, but back then it was first horror thing that introduces me with concept of queer character being treated the same way as any other slasher character is.

So… I’m glad that now I have something much more comfortable to look forward to.

When us Queer folks yell about getting more shows with Queer characters we mean what Mike Flanagan is doing with Fall of the House of Usher.

People be gay. Period.

There's no fanfare. No crisis. No trauma. No ticker tape parade. It's often not the point of the story. The characters are Queer and the earth has not shattered. Some of them are boring, some are the worst people in the world, some are even nice. They are just Queer.

I want the Sci fi, the fantasy, the horror, the period romance, the procedural, the rom-com, etc.

(Side note: this show is insanely well written and directed. Like I absolutely know what's going to happen in each ep, but my word, it's so wonderfully woven together.)

P.s. Carla Gugino is just never not a pleasure to look at. Whew!

One day, if I ever survive till the end of this nightmare, I’ll write the whole article about how Batman fandom actually saved my mental health during all the hell that happened in my country in last decade.

But today I just wanna say that with election starting, with people being actually paid with discounts and bonuses for doing online voting (aka voting that’s way too easy to tamper with) - not joking, my friend’s mom basically tried to force him to vote online to get some sort of furniture free or something - this stupid scene with Joker villain monologue hits too close to home.

So I accidentally found two audios from We Sing level I've never heard in-game and want to share this one because it's such a mood:

He really tries to act like this grumpy and extremely serious writer but deep down he's loving all that show, isn't he?

Matt recorded more lines for this level but it looks like they aren't random and need a specific trigger instead - maybe we can't be hit by the Taken or die or whatever - and because of that many players won't hear all his comments on the musical no matter how many times they play it.

Well, I certainly agree with that, and Batfandom scares me a lot (my own relationships with it are… weird, let’s say), but it’s sad to see how creators approach to the characters influenced fandom so much.

I’m so sorry it happens

I feel like a pattern i keep noticing is that people whose favorite characters are girls or not white (talia, cass, duke, steph, sometimes damian) like reading the comics and rec comic runs to read, and dislike fandom because you know, racism, sexism, characterization shallower than a puddle if their character even shows up. Meanwhile, people who like "batboys" (jason, tim, damian, dick) sometimes have never read a comic (*Wayne Family Adventures is an outlier and not being counted) and mainly circulate through fics and etc. because I guess if you like the fanon personalities then there's no reason to bother with the struggle of western comic runs

It makes sense to me why each extreme exists, but my problem is i cant follow either of them, because I really don't care about fanon batboys, and as much as I want to read comics with actual characterization and analysis, people on those blogs actually keep up with comics and post parts of them, and comics Bruce keeps beating his fucking kids.

Anyway. I am in the corner of the fandom that says "if I only consume content where they don't give Bruce kids, I don't have to deal with that shit."

Friend of my friend came out as centrist right after Navalny’s death and decided to make it my problem. He still sends me memes about how awful of a person I am to have a political opinion. I don’t reply. I just wait to see how deep he can dig his own grave.

i don't get how you can be friends with people on the opposite end of the political spectrum. if you're both hard leaning towards centrism then it's understandable, but in my case that's a matter of being a normal human being and being a cannibalistic nazi because politics here is not about being left or right for a long time.
