my girlfriend and i are being evicted.
until now, we’ve been staying with her very conservative parents, but they’ve decided they no longer wish to support us. i’m trans and my girlfriend is autisitic. they have verbally abused her since childhood and have actively worked to isolate her from anyone they don’t approve of. that definitely includes me and, since she refuses to cut ties with me, they’re cutting her off and forcing us out.
the pandemic and declining mental/physical health has left us both unemployed and without options. my own mother refuses to help and we don’t have any friends that are able to offer us more than a few days with them.
we have to leave by tomorrow. they’ve already called the cops once and will gladly continue pressuring us until we’re gone.
please do not feel obligated, i know times are hard for everyone right now, but if anyone has even a few extra dollars they could send our way, it would make a huge difference.

Hi, sorry to bother you but I can't find anything on this... what does it mean to be oath bound? Is there anyone you can recommend that IS oath bound? Thank you love.. thank you so much! I dont know where else to look :(
Hello, love!! Not a bother at all!
Oath bound means you have sworn some kind of oath to a deity. What the oath is and entails varies from worshiper to worshiper.
Personally I’m against swearing oaths for a few reasons
The Delphic Maxims specifically states “Dont swear an oath”
Oaths are extremely serious and powerful. Remember the gods themselves are bound by oaths which means it’s likely they can’t protect you from the consequences of breaking an oath.
I think for the majority of worshipers they are very unnecessary. You can devote something to a god without oathing and the risks that come with it. It’s really just not worth it at all imo.
I actually very rarely even make promises to my deities bc ultimately I have no idea whether future me can keep those promises let alone a freakin oath! I think some worshipers don’t take into account that when they make these long term commitments they are basically gambling on the fact that their future selves will be able to uphold the commitment. I’m self aware enough to know that as a mentally ill Cancerian I am way too all over the place to even begin to try and predict what my future self can or can’t handle.
So to sum it up I think oathing is dangerous and not worth it at all. Just do the thing for your deity without oathing. So much safer and less stressful.

Muses, tell me about the bright-eyed trickster, whose poker face is an unceasing grin while he counts cards and only ever “loses” for his own entertainment.
Tell me about the lover who falls into bed with laughter that tastes like sunlight on strawberries.
Tell me about the mysterious man who keeps an eye on kids searching for identity through spray paint on concrete, who keeps the cops away.
Muses, speak to me of the gentle guide in the dark cloak, who takes souls by the hand, ushering them away from their still bodies, and soothes them all the way to their next destination.

to any newcomers, if you’re conflicted about Zeus because of how often people like to drag him through the mud, i’d like to recommend looking at his relationships with other gods. you’ll get a much better idea of who he is from how they perceive him than you would from a random tumblr blogger. when you look at how so many of his fellow gods treat him, it’s hard to imagine how Zeus is boiled down to nothing but negative traits. if literal gods have respect (and even love) for Zeus, who are we to say that they’re wrong about him?

When Helios disappears for the evening
I can see the glittering stars beyond
All those legends shining down
And I know that once, long ago
They looked upon the same twinkling lights
And prayed, just as I pray for the morning
To deliver opportunity and abundance anew

An Irreverent Call to Hermes
Hipponax, fr. 32
Note: “from another’s house”: lit. “from the other [side of the] wall”. Hermes was patron deity of thieves and burglars.
Hermes, Hermes my friend, Son of Maia, Cyllene-born, To you I pray – for I’m freezing My tail off! My teeth are chattering! Give a cloak to Hipponax And a little frock as well, Maybe some sandals too And fur-lined shoes for winter… Oh, and sixty gold staters, Robbed from another’s house.

— an introduction to worshipping Odysseus
cw: chthonic aspect mention
Who is Odysseus?
Odysseus is a legendary hero, perhaps most famous for being the king of Ithaca. His other claims to fame include his skill with a bow, lateral thinking, trickster tendencies, and his homecoming. Like most heroes, Odysseus had a taste for glory, but his heart remained in Ithaca on his journeys. Ten years stood between him and his return to his wife and son, all because of a war he wanted no part in. Even when he feigned madness to avoid leaving home, the prophecy in place did not budge. He would fight in the Trojan war and, in doing so, he would become one of the most famous heroes Greece would ever know.
Why worship Odysseus?
If you’ve ever felt stranded, far away from home or comfort, you have something in common with Odysseus. As brave as he was, he wasn’t immune to sorrow and loneliness. But he didn’t give up. Fate actively worked against him and he (with the help of Gods) survived pain and torment to arrive at the place where he belonged.
To those of you who feel hopeless, isolated, and alone—Odysseus understands. He made it home, and you can too. Call on him for help along your journey, or even for nothing more than a reminder that humans can overcome even the most intimidating obstacles.
How should I worship him?
As a hero, Odysseus should be worshipped in a chthonic fashion. Pour our libations for him, have feasts in his honor, put together an altar that is low to the ground. What you offer him is up to you, but I will provide a short list to point you in the right direction.
Red Wine
Olive Oil
Meat (sheep or cow, preferably)
Fruits
Honey
Water
Coins
Cakes
As for devotional acts, I’d love to see people get creative with these as they’re so personal, but I’ll go ahead and supply a list of what might get you started.
Study the Iliad and the Odyssey
Donate money to charities that bring families together.
Show love to the people who make your life easier.
Practice Archery.
Tell someone a story.
Dedicate tasks like calling your therapist or doctor, going to appointments, taking care of your health, and reaching out for help to him.
Study necromancy.
Honor Athena.
