Like Sally’s young when her parents die and grief manifests in strange ways. I love thinking that her way of coping is blaming this classical figure as a way to help herself through it. And she just has this silly little thing in her head where when she’s feeling extra sad or angry or frustrated and thinking of her parents she can just say to herself “fuck Zeus.”

And then a few years later BAM the actual Poseidon shows up. Probably because she was on the beach reminiscing over her parents and shouted at the water “Fuck Zeus!” And Poseidon emerged from the waves like “you have reached the secret mating call of Poseidon hello pretty mortal I too hate Zeus”

Like that so so epically funny to me but also so tragic that following that she would have real actually reason to hate Zeus and would no longer be able to say “Fuck Zeus” because he’s aware of her now.

can we talk about how fucked up it is that zeus has been messing with sally jackson for EVER like queen's parents died in a PLANE CRASH. this is a seriously overlooked pjo detail imo. did zeus look into the future and see that his brother had a little crush...? pls discuss bc this CANNOT be a coincidence. or did sally jackson HATE zeus because of her parents deaths and just happened to be a classics bitch? was poseidon just into that?

as a kid, i really didn't appreciate how funny PJO's "Mr. D" was.

like when i heard at age 8 there was a god of wine i was like: lol that's random. is there one for sprite too? and my teacher tried to explain it was more than that but clearly wasn't sure how to do that will being Age Appropriate. so when i heard "god of parties" i'm imagining like unwrapping gifts and cutting cake.

but no no no. They took Dionysus, Greek god of booze, drugs, and ritual madness...

and punished him by making him perpetual chaperone of 9-17 year olds

like cutting off the god of wine from alcohol is already pretty cruel, but the rest of it is honestly worse and/or funnier

Percy’s face when Sally mentioned Grover playing a role in getting him kicked out of school…

The way his face scrunches up really tight before relaxing? That’s anger.

But not the kind of anger we see in him in the last episode.

This is the kind of anger that makes you cry. The kind that’s underpinned by embarrassment and hurt and feeling like you’ve been treated unfairly.

Percy knows he didn’t push Nancy into the fountain and he thought that, if anyone would have his back, it was going to be Grover. And then he didn’t. And it’s unfair to Percy. It’s Wrong. Because no one believes him, apparently not even his best friend.

And the way he closes his eyes and takes a really deep breath? That’s a tactic that’s literally recommended to stop yourself from crying when you’re angry. It allows your body to “catch up” with your mind.

What do you wanna bet that Percy learned that from a school counselor?

i survived my first tuesday without a new pjo episode

I heard some people say the series is even worse than the movies because it lacks the humour which is a inalienable part of PJO and yes, the series IS darker than the books, to dark in my opinion. Yeah sure, war is coming and stuff, but in the books there was still much space for shenanigans and fuck around and find out. Fair point. But how can one just ignore all these comic masterpieces?

-"Why is there a goat in your pants?'

-Percy just being the ultimate ADHD kid during Capture the Flag

-Annabeth and Grover putting Percy in the dam fountain when he was poisoned

-Grover's consensus song

-"How hard can it be to drive a car?" *CRASH*

-"Man, Grover has aged a lot!"

(The movies, meanwhile, did give the right mix between drama and comedy, but the gags were often too Hollywood-like instead of being in character, in my opinion. Like, I love this "You're half donkey?" -"The political correct term is Satyr" -interaction, but still this isn't something Grover would say)

I can’t remember what Athena’s reasoning for not liking Percy was in the books (was is that he’s Poseidon kid? or that he wasn’t good enough for annabeth??) but show Athena is gonna HATE Percy for basically corrupting her daughter and helping her go from the perfect little soldier she wanted into a an independent/free thinker

everyone always commenting on how sweet percy is for dropping super romantic comments about annabeth, or their cutest moments together and funniest convos. and don’t get me wrong, i’m just as much a sucker for those as you guys are

but for me, it’s the little things that show how much he loves her that makes me so obsessed with them. like in chalice of the gods, he borrows her hat to complete the quest and afterwards, he puts it back to her size for her. it such a small thing to do - something annabeth likely won’t even notice - but it’s so effortlessly thoughtful. not to mention that despite how rushed he was when he put it on, he paid attention to what size it was for her much smaller head.

annabeth is a strong, determined, intimidating - many even say scary - young woman. and percy knows that better than anyone. but like… he takes care of her. he takes cares of her in both big ways and little ways that no one ever has for her, i just- UGHHHGH
