hey! I tried searching your blog for this but mostly got posts on rose quartzes so I’ll ask here. I got a rose bouquet a few weeks ago and now the petals are all dried and dead and I was wondering if you know if roses have any spell uses or associations with any Norse gods (in the lore or upg)? Obviously I can’t use them in anything I’ll consume since they’re from a flower shop. Thanks again! I always appreciate your informative posts ☺️

Hi dear, I’d be careful not to use them in a bath either just in case! 💙 Roses are probably one of my most worked with plants so I can definitely help you out here!

For correspondences in spells roses are great for abundance, beauty, clearing/blessing, sweet dreams, emotional healing, friendship, purification, spirituality, and love.

It’s been said(I have no hard sources on this) that roses have the purest and most positive vibration of any flower. If that’s the case, using them in any spell that’s supposed to positively impact your life should be ok.

Since you want to stay away from/bathing ingesting these roses we should talk about other alternatives!!

You can make your own paper out of flower petals and recycled paper! It’s super fun and looks stunning. Here’s a link to a guide.

You can keep them in a jar on your altar or in your home to encourage positive energy + compassion.

You can press them some of the petals for your grimoire, journal, etc.

You can make pillars, spheres, or whatever you want with craft resin and a good mold! Include the flower petals and you have a beautiful little… thingy.

I’ve also been seeing a lot of pressed flower sun catchers?? I haven’t tried this yet but I realllyyyy want too. I don’t know if this’ll work with dead flowers though.

I don’t how big a bouquet is but you can make watercolor with flower petals! It’s super pretty, you could paint positive affirmations, sigils, all sorts of cute stuff. Basically for each 2/3 cups of rose petals add 3 tbsp of hot(not boiling) water it a blender and you’ll have paste! Or you can grind it into a paste by hand but you’ll want to make sure you’re moving quick and hard.

If you have a phone and a clear phone case you can put petals between the two. 

As for Norse deities I think any love god would work really so, Lady Frigg,Sjöfn, Lofn, or Freyja. You could probably also use them for Nanna, Iðunn, Baldr, Sif, or Freyr.

I will vibe with Baldr and Aegir all day but I don't think I've ever actually worked with them once.

Anyone else just makes a shrine/alter for deities than just meditate or do tarot cards than play music for a few minutes for them and just chill with them but don't work with them? But that's what I do and it's quite relaxing I think.
