Hey I saw your queer Muslim ac1ceptance until Allah is brought in the picture and I just wanted to let you know that the first time I, a fellow queer person and frankly not a religious person at all, heard inshallah, it was super comforting, so I will always try my best to include queer Muslims always, inshallah.
that's so sweet I'm so happy whenever I find supporting people, most don't <3

There is nothing wrong with you. You have patterns to unlearn, new behaviors to embody and wounds to heal, but there is nothing wrong with the core of you and who you are. You're unlearning generations of harm and trauma and remembering what love is. It takes time <3

The whole notion that women didn’t work is pretty much about upper class white women’s experience because historically poor women of color have always worked and get exploited and literally so many aspects of feminism is like claiming that it has paced ways and given rights to women but its actually only beneficial to upper class white women. Women from third world countries have always worked and fought in war. We just never got the proper credits for it or anything.

queer revert muslim culture is never being taken seriously when you defend yourself because you’re a revert and you’re “invading Islam and changing it on purpose”

Wanted to share one of my favorite surahs <3
Allaahummaj'al fee qalbee nooran, wa fee lisaaanee nooran, wa fee sam'ee nooran, wa fee basaree nooran, wa min fawqee nooran, wa min tahtee nooran, wa 'an yameenee nooran, wa 'an shimaalee nooran, wa min 'amaamee nooran, wa min khalfee nooran, waj'alfee nafsee nooran, wa 'a'dhim lee nooran, wa 'adhdhim lee nooran, wafal lee nooran, waj'alnee nooran, Allaahumma 'a'tinee nooran, waj'al fee 'asabee nooran, wafee lahmee nooran, wafee damee nooran, wa fee sha'ree nooran, wa fee basharee nooran. Allaahummaj'al lee nooran fee qabree... wa nooran fee 'idhaamee. Wa zidnee nooran, wa zidnee nooran, wa zidnee nooran. Wa hab lee nooran 'alaa noor.
O Allah, place light in my heart, and on my tongue light, and in my ears light and in my sight light, and above me light, and below me light, and to my right light, and to my left light, and before me light and behind me light. Place in my soul light. Magnify for me light, and amplify for me light. Make for me light and make me a light. O Allah, grant me light, and place light in my nerves, and in my body light and in my blood light and in my hair light and in my skin light. O Allah, make for me a light in my grave... And a light in my bones. Increase me in light, increase me in light, increase me in light. Grant me light upon light.
Al-Bukhari 11/116 (Hadith n.6316), Muslim 1/526 (Hadith n.763)

I love how most queer people accept me as a muslim but as soon as "Alhamdulillah" "Astaghfirullah" or "MashAllah" comes out of my mouth they feel uncomfortable. It's like they're ok w me being muslim as long as they don't have to see it in any way. As long as I shut up about it.
As if that's not the same exact thing homophobes and transphobes say- be who you want just shut up about it.
Sincerely, a queer muslim <3

PSA: As a queer Muslim, can I just say that we need to address both homophobia within the Muslim community AND Islamophobia within the LGBTQ+ community?
Because it sucks being viewed as a sinner and a disgrace by most of my family and many other members of my faith, but it also sucks to hear my fellow queer folks attacking Islam as a whole, when in truth, the religion preaches peace and tolerance.
If you're a cisgender, heterosexual Muslim, please remember that there are queer Muslims who are trying their best to serve Allah, just like you, and that we are not inherently any more dirty or shameful than anyone else.
If you're a non-Muslim member of the LGBTQ+ community, please remember that there are queer Muslims, and there are Muslims who are allies, and it hurts to see our religion painted as evil.

"He created the heavens and earth in truth and formed you and perfected your forms; and Him is the (final) destination."
Qur'an 64:3, translation by Saheeh International.
I've found this verse very comforting. Allah created our world, he created us, and it is to Allah that all returns. We are created according to his intentions - and that includes being LGBTQ+. Being corrupt or filled with hatred can lead one astray, but one is never sent astray by Allah's intentions.
We are all different, and yet all made perfect. Being different when we were created that way is not haraam, but hating and attacking others is.

You don't need to have a big meaningful reason to stay alive, sometimes not making someone sad or feeling pretty or wanting to finish a book are a good enough reason.
One day you'll find something that's worth being alive, till then, anything that keeps you alive is wonderful and so worth it <3

-Islamophobia and widespread villainization of Muslims is wrong and dangerous, and shows how much hatred and prejudice against those who are different still exists.
-Muslims need to do a better job of standing up for those who are marginalized in some elements of Islamic society, including women, LGBTQ+ people, and non-Muslims.
These ideas can and do coexist.

Ok but if I'm depressed anyways and life is meaningless to me I'd rather stay alive and not make anyone sad. I don't feel alive anyways but if staying alive means a little less sadness in the world and the chance to feel good some day, it's worth it.
I got nothing to lose, right? Might as well give it a try
