So I know I haven't really been active on here.... 😩 I'm so sorry. I've been really, really busy and occasionally I'll stop by here whenever I'm feeling a little down. I saw a few people had messaged me, thank you. You're very kind and I'm sorry I haven't been able to get to all of you but know that you guys mean a lot to me. Thank you for being interested in my posts ♥️
My days are all screwed up so I feel like I'm a day ahead lately. My sleeping schedule has been a mess and so has everything else but I'm trying to be better for myself and you guys 😊 thank you for everything ♥️
That being said, I should have more free time soon! I have a lot to talk about and I would like to hear from you guys too whether it's random or from the Sk8 community. I'm still contemplating doing reviews for the last two episodes I missed but I'm not sure if anyone would be interested...🙃 If not then I'll definitely do one for the upcoming episode. Let me know if you guys are interested on my thoughts for the last two that way I try to get them out before the next episode!
I find it sad that in order for me to get tired, I sometimes read my own wip and they knock me out. I'm sorry y'all that you have to read my boring ass writing xD
This was literally my mom who always told me that she didn't want me having a cat. They were problematic and too much to handle. But now they've become so attached that she can't see herself without her anymore.
Thanks so much for all of your technical skateboarding posts! Would you be able to speak to the different kinds of boards and how they would be optimized to different situations? I know that the different characters have their different kinds of boards and Reki does give Langa a bit of an overview in episode 2. Thank you!!
Sorry I hadn’t responded to this, been having one hell of a week 😔😭
There are different board types and each one does operate differently in a way. A longboard for example is longer and a bit wider than the average skateboard and does generate more speed because of the type of wheels it has which are wider. It also cuts through air better because of it’s shape. That’s why longboards are recommended when going downhill. The lack of control on a regular skateboard would be frightening to say the least since the wheels don’t grip well and the trucks, if they’re done properly, won’t wobble.
Regular skateboards aren’t meant to be fast and they’ve been designed for those that are generally looking to do tricks. However, you can change a lot of a skateboard to optimize it for whatever you’re into. The trucks for example can be loosened for better and swifter turns or the wheels can be changed. You can even put wider wheels on them for grip and speed but I think it would be uncomfortable lol
Then there are cruisers. They fall somewhere in between the two. Their shape is somewhat similar to what a surfboard would be like but still keeping the same skateboard dimensions? lol they’re fun and meant for cruising purposes. Most of the times these board will have a lip on the back end for basic stuff like Ollies but for the most part they’re meant for riding around leisurely. I’ve seen some pretty bad videos online of people using penny boards for tricks and it does not end well. Though, you can still do tricks on cruisers but at that point I would recommend a regular board.
It baffles me that Langa can do tricks on his board like the casper flip and kickflip cause it’s so long but he does more aerial tricks than technical tricks which at the end of the day makes sense.
Thanks for asking!! I know I’ve been slacking a lot on my Sk8 posts 😭 and I look forward to getting back on track with it 🙏
