here have 10 pieces of writing advice that have stuck with me over the years
every character’s first line should be an introduction to who they are as a person
even if you only wrote one sentence on a really bad day, that’s still one sentence more than you had yesterday
exercise restraint when using swear words and extra punctuation in order for them to pack a punch when you do use them
if your characters have to kiss to show they’re in love, then they’re not in love
make every scene interesting (or make every scene your favorite scene), otherwise your readers will be just as bored as you
if you’re stuck on a scene, delete the last line you wrote and go in a different direction, or leave in brackets as placeholders
don’t compare your first draft to published books that could be anywhere from 3rd to 103rd drafts
i promise you the story you want to tell can fit into 100k words or less
sometimes the book isn’t working because it’s not ready to be written or you’re not ready to write it yet; let it marinate for a bit so the idea can develop as you become a better writer
a story written in chronological order takes a lot more discipline and is usually easier to understand than a story written with flashbacks

Hi!! 11& 12 for the ask game!!!
11) Which character do you have the most in common with?
Honestly, the obvious answer would be Arian, since she is the earliest iteration of my SI-OC. (For those of you who are only familiar with Cass Floreld and Asteria Lucis Caelum, Asteria is actually Arian’s many times reincarnation. Maybe I’ll write profiles for each of Arian’s incarnations at some point.)
Arian is mostly based off of teenage me, with some exceptions. Younger sibling, somewhat troubled relationship with parents, anxiety, guilt and all. She prides herself in her place in her family and her clan, and in her cultural heritage. Before 2012 hit, she was a high school student on the verge of graduating who has no idea where to go next.
12) Which character do you have the least in common with?
Luka. Luka is basically the best friend who has your back and who tells you truths you may not want to hear. He’s probably the most mature member of my OC cast and just a great guy to hang out with. He’s that guy who knows what he wants to do with his life, the one everyone wants to do a group project with and also the person who is willing to re-enact a musical on the fly, in public, just for the lolz and not feel a shred of embarrassment.
Also, he is Arian’s cousin and her rival to succeed clan leadership. Despite family politics, they get along very well, in large part because he is the extrovert bestie to her introvert self.

To have two people coincide at the exact same time when both have busy lives, responsabilities to bear, demands of time by family and friends, chores to attend and jobs to do, is nothing short of a miracle, so when we come together let us never forget that the time we spend with each other, though brief as it might be, is ever so precious. Let us never complain or be bitter about the time spent apart but rather lets embrace the miracle of coming together as we do. Let us spend those precious moments and condense in them all the love, and laughter we can so those warm memories will sustain us the time we are apart.

oc asks that reveal more than you think
Do they sleep with a stuffed animal? If they have multiple, who’s the favorite?
Can they take care of a plant? What about a pet? What about a child?
Ask them to describe their love interest.
Do they look good in red?
Speech! Speech! Speech! Speech! Will they give one, and what about?
Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?
Describe them in three words. Now let them describe themself in three words.
Do complex puzzles intrigue or frustrate them?
Do they empathize with non-sentient things (dolls, plants, books…)?
What age do they most want to be right now?
They’ve won the lottery. Spend, or save?
Do they like romance in the books they read (or in the book they’re in)?
Name one thing their parents taught them.
Would they agree with the term ‘guilty pleasure’? Do they have any?
What would they consider a waste of time– other than school or work?
If money wasn’t a limit, what would they wear?
Do they like children?
Kissing: tongue or no tongue?
Do they study before tests? Practice before job interviews?
What do they like that nobody else does?
What would it take for them to break up with someone? What would be the last straw?
Do they like being called pet names? Do they call other people pet names? What’s their go-to?
Stability or novelty?
Honesty or charity?
Safety or possibility?
Talent or effort?
Forgiveness or vengeance (or…)?
Would they date a fixer-upper?
What recurring dreams do they have?
What would they do if they knew it would be forgiven?

Oooh, that would be interesting. The player cap is 10, so that's what we're going with. If I put in the 8 Glaives you named plus Drautos or Cor and a player/reader character, that makes 10.
I actually forgot about Pelna (sorry Pelna!). For some reason, when I was counting the Glaives in my head I always have to stop myself from putting Sonitus with the imposters? So that makes your comment about making him a suspicious character absolutely hilarious.
I think I'll add Cor instead of Drautos.
A) Drautos knows who's an imposter and who isn't.
B) Cor might have worked with Glaives but he doesn't really know them, which will make him extremely suspicious of everyone when someone decides to sabotage the operation.
C) This, in turn, will heighten tension as things go along, especially since none of the Glaives want to believe one of their comrades might betray them.
I think Pelna will be the Crewmate who no one notices even when they're in the same room (except maybe Crowe?).
Sonitus seems suspicious as hell, but he hasn't been thrown out yet because it did seem like he was doing tasks and he did have alibis for some double kills.
I think I will make them imprison whoever they decide is an imposter during voting sessions instead of throwing the suspect off base. They don't have hard cold evidence, after all.
Maybe they slipped through some interdimensional vortex and ended up on whichever space base they're on? They're doing tasks to keep the base working so they don't die, but someone keeps sabotaging/killing them.
Since they're not familiar with some of the technology on the ship, some of them might accidentally sabotage while trying to do tasks.
Decisions, decisions...
Ok, so.
I've been playing Among Us and wondering how I could fit FFXV in as a crossover.
Then I realized something.
With the exception of Titus Drautos, there are three named traitor Glaives: Luche Lazarus, Tredd Furia and Axis Arra.
In Among Us, we can have up to 3 impostors, so this actually works quite well.
But as for named Glaives, we have seven total. While there are more in Comrades, but I don't know them well enough to add them in.
We could add Cor, since he led them in Comrades, bringing the number up to 8. We can also add one OC as a player/reader character. That makes 9.
So, should I add Drautos but not make him imposter? Or include someone else?

You guys are pretty familiar with the Glaives. Any ideas?

According to Longcat's (her real name is Nobiko) person, she passed earlier today at the age of 18
Tumblr media
Source
According to Twitter, she was playful and happy and fighting until the very end. It's also worth it to consider that 18 years old is quite old, for a house cat.
I don't know about you, but I think we should celebrate her life. ~16 years ago, the famous Longcat image graced the internet. She was like a celebrity, even across the world.
Rest in peace, "Longcat", Nobiko. You were long, and you are loved.
Tumblr media
And please, if you can, have kind thoughts and words for her family during this time as well. Losing a pet is never easy, and losing one so well-known is bound to be stressful. Thank you for sharing her memory with us.

Fun facts about Cass:
- She is named after the cassia trees that grow in her hometown. Her family (and the extended community) never lets her forget it. Especially considering no cassia trees have bloomed since the Glacian cursed the land with eternal winter.
- Incidentally, she was 18 when winter suddenly hit the Niflheim Empire.
- Cassia has no younger siblings of her own, but is very much considered to be the Big Sister of her generation. In other words, All The Babysitting Gigs.
- With their main source of income cut off, Cassia decides to look for work in Gralea. It took her many months to convince her parents to let her go, given how widespread the 'Disappearing Sickness' was by that point.
- Nearly a year later, Cassia writes home, informing her family that she is now employed by the Chancellor himself.
- (If that was her twenty-seventh attempt or if all previous attempts included mentions of violence towards a high-ranking official...
Well, ashes tell no stories.)
- (But seriously though, if that thrice-damned Chancellor made her look for him all over the Imperial Palace like an idiot ONE MORE TIME-)

Fun fact:
- One way to tell Cass' level of Done is by her hairdo. Cass always wears at least one braid when she's out (ever since the village kids braided her hair for the Burning Festival).
- As a consummate professional, she always wears her hair up when at work.
- Only wearing a ponytail means that Cass will not hesitate to talk down certain high-ranking military personnel she usually avoids.
- A messy ponytail with visible strands sticking out? Even Ardyn is temporarily docile in the face of her... irritation.
- (By that point, she is no longer brewing cinnamon coffee but sustaining herself on the sludge of caffeine served in the Palace.)
- (And no, no one knows why Emperor Aldercapt likes the stuff so much he is willing to subject his entire workforce to it. Judging by Prince Icarus' demeanor, the less said about it, the better.)

Wating for the Yellow Blooms
Tumblr media
Meet Cassia Floreld, current (and hopefully final) PA of Chancellor Izunia.
Cassia comes from a small village from the countryside. In order to help provide for her family, she decided to try her chances in the capital. Thankfully, she managed to get an entry-level position at the government.
Unfortunately, being new means that, when the Chancellor needs a new PA (again), Cassia gets offered up as a sacrifice.
She would like it to be known that she did not sign up for this.
...
"Chancellor Izunia, will you please fire me?"
"Hmm? Did you say something?"

WRITEBLR INTRO
Hi all! You can call me Hina. I’m in my twenties and I use she/her pronouns. Currently enjoying online uni life and falling into whatever fandom manages to drag me down their rabbit hole.
Some fun facts about me?
I love mango. Few fruits can match its deliciousness.
I like pineapple pizza. I honestly dislike the ham more than the pineapple. Feel free to convince me otherwise in the comments lol.
I once received an award citing me as “the most likely person to publish a poetry book about onigiri”. I am still debating whether I should make that a reality.
My writing
I haven’t really written anything in a while except snippets, so I’m trying to get back into the groove by focusing on my fanfics. Currently, my plan is to at least finish one of the installments in the saga I’ve been building since my high school days. Since I am neck-deep in Final Fantasy XV, that is the biggest contender right now.
Other than fanfiction, I like writing poetry and short fiction. Things I like to include in my stories are:
·        Found family
·        Angst with a happy ending
·        Well-established romance (though not necessarily front and center)
·        Characters coming to terms with trauma
·        Characters supporting each other
·        Worldbuilding
My blog
This blog will mostly host fanfiction content. I mostly hope to gain more inspiration by interacting with everyone. Most of my writing is centered around one character, so I want to expand my repertoire. I will also reblog writing tips and tag games from time to time.
I am willing to take prompts and requests for Final Fantasy XV, Final Fantasy VII, Naruto, Bleach and Touken Ranbu. You can request other fandoms, but I cannot guarantee that I will take the request. Eventually, I’ll write a post about the rules for requests at some point, but for now, my hard rule is no NSFW content.
