the human rights campaign is suing the trump administration over their decision to do what they’re doing to section 1557 of the affordable care act, allowing medical care providers to refuse service to trans people.  if you can donate, please do.  i’m going to try and figure out literally any way i can make extra money so that i can donate as well in my current situation.

The right-wing argument that anti-racist protestors taking down statues of notorious white supremacists and literal slave traders is “destroying history” is absolutely nonsensical, because erecting statues of slavers and white supremacists actually is, by itself, a distortion of history, by telling us these are men and women worth celebrating and worth immortalizing in public monument, a position that is only coherent with a view of history that celebrates the odious institutions of white supremacy, slavery and colonialism. Protestors removing these statues in fact represents a correction of a distorted historical record, by reminding the public that no, these men and women are not worth celebrating, that their largest contribution to the world was to bring into existence immense amounts of human suffering and that we should, therefore, not see them with admiration, or celebrate them, or commemorate them, and never should have.

we can’t talk about police brutality without calling these fuckers out for their treatment of sex workers on the street, especially black sex workers and especially trans sex workers and especially black trans sex workers. The assault, harassment, coercion, and rape of vulnerable people who are a part of our communities whether the fuck u agree w what they’re doing or not. and don’t think cops are above this behaviour with others incl the mentally ill and very poor when they think they can get away with it.
