All these holes in his habit: John Watson's clothes in Series 3

(oh yeah, I used this quote, fight me) After watching series 3, I noticed something really intriguing about John Watson. John is a very private person who doesn’t like to talk about his feelings. So how can we deduce anything about his heart this season that was set mainly from Sherlock’s POV? By watching him really closely. And when you spend hours of analysing his behavior, you start noticing what he wears during the most important scenes. And oh boy, Series 3 gave me a lot to analyze.

The good thing about Sherlock’s fashion style is that it is really sharp and simple: good suits usually in dark colors (mostly black), good shirts (purple, white, blue) and voilà. The most shocking thing he ever wore was a pair of jeans in TBB and I don’t think he did ever wear jeans after this episode. John has more variety in his closet but he does wear again and again the same clothes. And who doesn’t? He doesn’t have a lot of clothes but knows how to combine them. John is a soldier. John is a doctor. And how he sees himself in society and with the people he loves the most influences the way he dresses.
