Gender Evolution

Gender Evolution is a specific approach to being transgender. One who is gender evolutionary believes that their current gender or genders are who they are now, however in the past they were a different gender or genders. This is NOT equivalent to saying that being trans is always a choice, rather it is stating that the gender you are most comfortable with now might not have been the gender you originally identified as and were. Additionally, one may really have been comfortable as a certain gender, but as time went by and that person grew and changed, that level of comfort changed as well. This process is almost always irreversible. Much like in evolution by natural selection, where a species can evolve to be one way and then evolve to be similar but never the same as their prior state (like how whales live like fish but did not “devolve” into fish), a gender evolution can sometimes take the individual in question back to a gender they identified as previously, but the individual will identify as that gender in a different way than they did before. Gender evolution is also a long-term and permanent change, rather than genderfluid, where one’s gender usually changes more frequently and can return to a previous gender almost perfectly.

The three interior stripes are three distinct stages of a gradient, which represents how each stage in a gender evolutionary person’s life is just as real and valid as any other, while the outer stripes are a shade of green color-picked from the cover of the first edition of Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species, the book that first brought the concept of evolution by natural selection to the general public.
