James tries to stall because you're running late to his Quidditch game

James tried his hardest to push the match back just a few minutes. "But is everyone sure they've got all the equipment? Nobody's missing a broomstick?" 

The Ravenclaw team captain rolled her eyes and let out a sigh at James' obvious stalling. 

"Absolutely sure." She said. "Now, can we start the game?" 

James looked around and saw you running down the hill to the Quidditch pitch. He would only need to hold the game for a few more minutes. 

The poor boy, he was dreadfully superstitious when it came to Quidditch. He claimed you were his 'lucky charm', which was why he needed you at every one of his games. You had your suspicions that he just wanted to show off for you, but you kept that to yourself. 

Unfortunately, today, you had lost track of time and stayed in the library for longer than you had planned. You had to rush across the school grounds to be there for James' game. 

At a loss for any good excuses, he made a pained noise and bent down to grab his leg. "Ugh, you know what? I think I sprained something. Definitely can't play like this. Can we get a healer on the field?" 

There was a collective groan coming from the stands. It seemed everyone in the whole school was tired of his antics and just wanted the game to start.

"Absolutely not." Another Ravenclaw player told him. "You're clearly faking it." 

"Am not. In fact, I need to sit down, and if you want the match to start, you'll have to carry me off this pitch." 

You rushed up the stairs to reach the top of the stands as quickly as possible, even almost falling down when you were halfway up. Once you reached the open air, you grabbed a seat that Peter had been saving for you at the front. You set your bag down and shot James two thumbs up as an encouragement. 

Glad you were finally here, he suddenly stood up. He grabbed his broomstick from the ground and clapped once, ready to finally start the game. "You know, I think my leg has been cured. Crazy how our bodies work, huh? Anyways, let's play."
