Well, I’ve began a (slightly comical) cooking adventure! And this YSAC spaghetti squash was my first attempt at a dinner recipe! Last week, I made quesadillas and pancakes from scratch.
youtube
@thecraftyspyder , @eygiess and I all hopped on a call and hung out together as @eygiess and I made the squash. It came out so good and definitely made enough for the next few days.
I’m very pleased with our results!
Anyone trying to cook for the first time should definitely try this recipe, it’s super simple (once you get the squash cut in half) and makes a lot so a little goes a long way—which is great for being a broke ass 20-something.

OH MY GODS THANK YOU!
I just started researching Herbalism, Green and Hedge Witchcraft paths, and this will help me so much. I’m starting with listening to the Green Witch on Spotify and it seems to be really good thus far explaining that path, though I was expecting it to be more herbalism based rather than path based so thank you!

Completely random but I’m so glad I got to connect to the research side of my craft today. It’s been a while since I could do that, and I ended up with pages of notes about Hecate—just from two podcasts episodes! I honestly feel a lot happier, if not a bit more restless to be able to research more. It’s been a long while since I felt this way.

So I’m trying to revitalize my craft now that spring is here! I’m making a whole section on Hecate as a part of my April goals for my path as a witch (one of them was research Hecate). I’ve been taking notes in between working on insurance denials and my brain has decided to fixate and focus on my witchy-ness versus the thing that pays me money. Oh well.
As a side note, Bard, my dæmon, is currently laying on the corner of my desk in his mink form and laughing his actual ass off in joy and amusement. He’s quite glad I’m trying to get back into my craft.

I didn’t need to read this and tear up at 6:39 in the morning
Thalia doesn’t keep many things in the hundreds of years she’s been alive.
But long ago, there were people, their names all but distant memories, who mattered in her 1st lifetime. It’s their things that stay hidden in her bag, reminding her of her mortal life.
A blue hoodie, worn almost threadbare. The scent of its original owner, long since leached from the fabric. But if she closes her eyes, she can almost see the blue eyes of her first and only love.
A pair of glasses. Frames cracked and crooked. A reminder of a brother she never got to truly know.
A baseball cap. It’s magic long faded, branded with a forgotten logo. Memories of a blonde girl laughing hidden deep within.
A letter. Ink fading, paper yellow. The last words of a dying friend. Words that wish her well, words that wished her well in a world they had fought side by side to save.
Thalia doesn’t keep a lot of things, but even after all this time, Luke, Jason, Annabeth, and Percy will stay with her forever. The memories of her first family to remind her why life is so beautiful.

Completely random but can we please get more romance / erotica books where it’s a healthy relationship between the main characters and what attracts them to each other is more than just their looks? Like I want a story where the main characters find common interests, talk as often as they can, show emotional support to one another, and (in the specific case of heterosexual couples in romance books) is attractive in a different way than “rich, brooding, abusive, muscly man”. Just a thought.

Why am I crying now?
One thing which genuinely bothers me is Annabeth's perception in the fandom. How she's seen as this cold, stoic, emotionless, reserved and intimidating girl. When in reality, she's a character full of love.
Annabeth, who immediately cried and felt attached to Cerberus after playing with him for a few minutes because she wouldn't get to play with him again.
Annabeth, whose deepest desire, which the Sirens lured her with, is saving Luke and having a good relationship with both her parents.
Annabeth, who believed in Luke's goodness, even after all the countless terrible things he did simply because she had faith in his humanity.
Annabeth, who cried in Percy's arms before entering the labyrinth and refused to reveal the last line of the prophecy because it said to lose a love worse than death and the idea of losing any of her friends is too painful, heartbreaking and worse than dying.
Annabeth, who kissed Percy before parting with him in St. Helens because if he's going to die, she at least wants him to die knowing she loved him.
Annabeth, who took a poisoned knife for Percy during the war because she'd rather die herself than let him die.
Annabeth, who convinced Luke to switch sides by reminding him of the promise of family he gave her. Which in turn, influenced Luke's decision to end himself to destroy Kronos. Hello, she saved the world with the power of love.
Annabeth, who spent months after months losing sleep and searching desperately for Percy when he went missing.
Annabeth, who kissed Percy to eternity in public at their reunion, not caring what anyone is going to say or think. An asteroid could've hit the earth, and she wouldn't have cared.
Annabeth, who told Percy “I love you” when falling in Tartarus because if she was going to die, she wanted them to be her last words.
Annabeth Chase is a sweetheart, who has always felt things deeply and she's so full of love. And I think it's time we let go of the “cold-hearted annabeth” headcanon because it's not true, that's not her.

As someone who works 7 days a week, with one day being 14 hours of work plus travel time, this is very affirming to hear…
And I’m yonking the cat picture.
It's a lot healthier to go for a daily walk than to sign up for a gym membership you won't be using because you hate that kind of exercise. It's a lot healthier to eat a frozen meal than to skip a meal because you were too tired to cook something healthy. It's a lot healthier to take a quick shower than to procrastinate an elaborate routine for days. Don't aim so high that you won't be hitting anything!

Chronicles of Narnia Rebinding Pt 4 — Goodbye Planning
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A dump of pictures on how different the cover art is becoming from the original plan. It literally has nothing to do with the books but now decided to be an art piece instead. Such is life I suppose. At least it’s been very meditative!
And it’s still not finished yet. I’m just letting it dry as I embark on a side quest of bookbinding to fix something my dog broke.

I did a reading and made a sigil today with / for Lady Hecate.
I’ve had a lot on my plate recently and will continue to do so for about another year and a half ish. Plus my annual physical came with a suggestion to seek therapy out since I scored a little higher than my Doctor would have liked on the GAD scale they give you.
So this is a nice little reading to hear knowing all of that.
The sigil I tend to make first then figure out its meaning/use/energy later. But I thought it was appropriate to use the runes from my reading in it and a draw a key to represent Lady Hecate.

I...tried to make a meme and got carried away and made A Thing that is like partially unfinished because i spent like 3 hours on it and then got tired.
I think this is mostly scientifically accurate but truth be told, there seems to be relatively little research on succession in regards to lawns specifically (as opposed to like, pastures). I am not exaggerating how bad they are for biodiversity though—recent research has referred to them as "ecological deserts."
Feel free to repost, no need for credit
