Blog Update

Hello everyone!

As you've probably noticed, I haven't been using this blog much lately. I'm going to be putting this blog on a semi-hiatus; I'm going to keep it and might occasionally check here or post a few things, but most of my time is going to be spent elsewhere.

I have two new blogs. The first, @cherry-alive, is pretty dissimilar to this blog, and so you may not want to follow it. I also made a sideblog off of that account called @briar--rising, which is going to serve as basically the equivalent of this blog. So if you like this blog you might like @briar--rising! No pressure to follow me there though, just thought I'd give the option!

People are so unnecessarily cruel to those of us with schizophrenia. On my other blog I reblogged a userbox that said "this user has schizophrenia." I was excited to see it; representation is rare, especially from blogs that aren't specifically psychosis blogs. I went and looked at the notes on that post, because sometimes I like to find other schizohprenic people to follow that way. In the reply section there was only one reply, and it read, in its entirety, "there are bugs in your skin." Someone put that there solely to trigger schizophrenic people looking at the notes. If I had been in a slightly less stable place last night that could have sent me into a severe episode. It didn't, thankfully, but it easily could have for me and many others. And it's also so pointless? Why? Why bother to do that? At least if you're sending specific unreality/triggering hate mail on anon to someone with schizophrenia its targeted at someone presumably because you dislike them in particular. But why put something random on a post just to trigger anyone with psychosis looking at it??? Just to hurt strangers who have never hurt you??? I don't understand and it's just so cruel and it makes me so sad

i know that "unalive" is part of larger worrying trend of self censorship but if you really are in a situtation where you have to avoid the words "die" or "kill" the english language already has centuries worth of much better euphemisms. the iconic and perennial "six feet under"? the lovely imagery of "pushing up daisies"? "shuffle off this mortal coil"????? literally anything from the monty python dead parrot bit???? you have so many options. please try to be more creative at least
